I've traveled the entire country and have been to a lot of guitar shops. Casino Guitars has to be my number one shop for high end guitars. They have the most impressive custom shop Fender collections I've ever seen along with some amazing amps all at a great price considering their value. The staff are super friendly and are cool to hang out with. Dylan is an amazing guy. I'm not the best guitarist and I always feel insecure when I play at most shops I go to but the staff made me feel welcome and encouraging and made me feel right at home. I played some of the nicest guitars I've ever seen and played them at full volume confidently! Every bit worth the trip to come here. read more

Let me start off by saying, all the guys that work here appear to be great people, and they few times I've spoken to them on the phone they were extremely friendly. I've been a long time subscriber to their YouTube channel, and enjoy their content. However, while I can't comment on customer service received in-store as I'm not local to the shop, I can unfortunately say I've been disappointed in the customer service I've received the 2 times I've attempted to do business with them. A few years back I was looking to sell a few higher end Gibson Custom Shop guitars ('58 Flying V Mahog, and R9 Les Paul). I called the shop and stated that I'd like to see what they would offer me for them. I was told they were interested and asked that I send pictures over so Baxter could review them and get back to me on what they'll be willing to offer. I never received any response. Approximately 2 weeks ago, I called in to spec out a Custom Shop Stratocaster. I went over the specs I was looking for and asked them to check on what the price would be, and if Fender would do what I was asking in a Team Built rather than Masterbuilt build. They sent me an email confirming the specs I mentioned, and I replied stating everything looked good. There has been zero communication since then. I can't imagine it would take 2 weeks for a Fender Showcase Dealer, who are supposedly extremely close with the CS Team, to find out the price on a simple build and whether they would change 1 pot configuration on the build as part of a Team Built rather than Masterbuilt version. This review is not personal as they all seem like great guys. Nonetheless, this has been my experiences. I just don't feel I should need to chase a shop to take my money. I've never experienced this with Wildwood, Music Zoo, Thunder Road, or even Guitar Center. Perhaps the focus has shifted too far towards becoming YouTube Stars. I hold no ill will towards the shop/guys, but unfortunately, they've lost me as a customer. read more

There aren't too many places in the world any longer that you can call perfect. People are in a hurry, they have a lot on their minds, life is brutal and ugly, and parking is a nightmare. Happily, Casino Guitars is like a great, large, lumbering dinosaur of goodness and virtue that bestrides the land like a Colossus of All That Is Still Right In This World. It is Camelot made real in the 21st century, located in the Sand Hills of North Carolina. Ensorcelled by their Youtube chemistry, I drove down to their shop, opened the door and there stood Jonathan, his beard resplendent in the store lighting, working diligently on the store computer. He looked up and said hello and I saw to it that he did not get one single solitary bit of work done for the next 60 to 90 minutes. I was curious about perhaps purchasing a Martin guitar and Jonathan basically walked me through the entire Martin product line, answering every question in a manner so direct and unencumbered with jargon that even a simple old codger such as myself could grasp the meaning of his words. Long story short (and there is much more to the story, oh gentle reader, much more indeed) I left with a solid mahogany Martin that will surely last for generations to come. Casino's mantra is "we want you to get the right guitar", and they did that in a manner that seemed to be effortless, and yet it spoke to the quality of the people who own the store and the people who labor there. They take joy in their work, and it is reflected in their words and deeds. I give them five stars because yelp will not let me give them many, many more. Take a chance and trust me on this: You MUST peregrinate to Casino Guitars at least once in your life. Your soul will thank you. read more

This place is an absolute gem of a guitar store. It's not in a big town, but it carries such a phenomenal collection of guitars. I've seen very few Fender Custom Shop collections in a store to rival this one. Ane the customer service is exactly what you want in a place like this. The staff are super knowledgeable and attentive but don't waste any time leaving you alone with an instrument to become familiar with it and see if it's a good fit for you. Instruments are priced fair and clearly well taken care of. I played several Martins and boutique electrics while I was there and didn't really think any of them would need more than a light touch for personal preference if I took one home. I don't live around here, but after visiting and spending more than an hour there, I would have ZERO hesitation ordering a guitar from them and having it shipped. read more

Every pandemic should call for the purchase of a tremolo/reverb pedal (Strymon). Okay, I hope we don't ever have this moment in history again, but we were never so happy to find a pedal for a music project we were finishing in our home studio. My father passed away earlier this year, and he used to always talk about Casino Guitars. I live in California, and I brought four of his guitars to Casino to ship back home. Baxter took the time to sit down and inspect each one. He even adjusted the truss rod on the Taylor. When he was finished, he didn't try to make a profit off of me, and charged me a very modest price to ship them. He even reminisced about a certain guitar my dad put on consignment there. This store is exceptional in its approach to customers as people, and not dollar signs. Although I now have a fairly large collection, and live on the other side of the country, when I purchase another guitar, I will most definitely work through Casino to buy it. Thank you! read more

Fiancee and I were walking around Southern Pines just passing with with pup Zoey and this place caught Fiancee's eye. I told him I would wait outside with Zo. As soon as Fiancee walked in, the owner saw Zo and I waiting outside and told us we were more than welcome to come in. Fiancee plays cello and banjo and was looking for some music thing. The owner knew all about it and while he didn't have any, told him exactly where to go to find one. Fiancee looked around and found a banjo. The owner encouraged him to play and actually sat down with him and played accompaniment on the guitar. The owner is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guy. He told us that he started the business himself and is passionate about guitars/music. He also works with a program to send kids to music camp! Awesome store, great owner, really cool vibe. Baxter and his crew are top notch that makes me feel welcome and genuinely happy to see me. Holy shit this place is awesome. And we don't even play guitar! My husband and I moved to NC recently, and that's when the need for a banjo set in. We were walking around Southern Pines and walked by Casino Guitars and his eyes lit up when he saw a banjo in the window. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Baxter, who turned out to be a pretty awesome guy with lots of cool stories. We hung out here for a while and ended up purchasing a handmade banjo that Baxter pulled from the back for us. He gave us a very reasonable price and my husband couldn't be more excited to get home and teach himself to play. We'll definitely be back, if not only to just hang and chat with Baxter! Worth the trip to Southern Pines if you're a fan of Fender, Taylor and Gretsch guitars...but you will likely find a nice used Martin on the wall also. This is a guitar players guitar shop whose owner is also a professional working musician. You can strum VERY nice guitars in the acoustic guitar room. Baxter, the owner, might even grabs a guitar and throw some awesome lead riffs in if you like. The whole staff has expert levels of knowledge regarding guitars of all kinds. Baxter and James are very friendly and knowledgable, and the place has a great, laid back feel. The selection of instruments is fantastic. It's not broad, but it's incredibly deep. By which I mean, the new instruments are all Taylor (for acoustics) Fender (acoustics and electrics) and Gretsch (ditto). But within those brands, there's a wide range of instruments to fit your budget. They also have a good selection of used instruments from various manufacturers. Prices are pretty standard; no real steals n deals, but they're not price gouging either. I definitely recommend this shop. I've already bought from them twice, and will do so again. read more
