The tour is enjoyable, informative, and tour guide tried to answer as many questions as our group had. The grounds are spectacular, and after our house tour, we were able to wander the grounds too. Pick up the Visitor Guide, which has explanations of each building, and the site's importance as a Fort during the War of 1812, the ups and downs of the Dousman family, and more. Highly recommended.

The movie theater myself and my family were in was clearly experiencing 3D projection problems; the projection was out of focus, translucent at times, and objects had glaring purple outlines at times. I reported the issue to a woman who may have been the manager while we stood at the back of the theater in the doorway. She started by dismissing the issue by suggesting that the 3D movie will be blurry if you don't wear the glasses. After reminding her that I was familiar with the basic concept of a 3D movie, I invited her to get her own set of glasses and sit in the theater and watch the movie for a bit and that she'd see the issue firsthand. She returned with a pair of glasses and stood in the doorway in the back and said she could see nothing wrong. I again suggested to her that it's not easily seen from way in the back and to sit IN the theater for a minute or two. She did not. She insisted that the projector was set properly. Minutes more of frustration later, I again went into the lobby in search of help. A helpful young man stepped in with me and I invited him to put the glasses on and then tell me nothing was wrong. He said 'Others had reported it and they were going to fix it. FORTY-FIVE minutes into the movie, the projection was fixed. Afterwards there was no staff to be seen to offer anybody in that theater compensation or even apologies as they exited. I travel 30 minutes to this theater and it is not inexpensive. Unless you are a local, you may want to consider other options in Boscobel, WI, Fitchburg, WI, or Dubuque, IA.
