They even mixed up her appointment once, sending us all the way to Platte City when her appointment was in Parkville. A few times they said they checked us in but didn't, so we sat in the waiting room until we asked about the delay. 2. On multiple occasions technicians were asking someone for training on how to do something. 3. Didn't have one trip where the wire was cut properly, causing many blisters. 4. Discovered an inflammation early on, claiming due to poor brushing- except she received monthly brushing by her primary dentist and was told she had clean teeth. They continued with the treatment instead of taking any scans or getting a second opinion to see if adjustment to the plan was needed...only months later (halfway through the treatment) to stop the treatment. At this point her teeth had moved to a dangerous position of being on top of each other and more susceptible to injury. The worst part is that they stopped treatment and wanted to put a permanent retainer on after creating a snaggletooth with her front two teeth. A gap was better than a snaggletooth. My daughter is now embarrassed of her smile and is depressed. All the dentist would say is "we did our best." Their best is not good enough. Had they stopped the treatment at the time we asked for a change in treatment, she would not have a snaggletooth. 5. Not a good environment to support neurodivergent children - no distractions like her other dentist. Had to repeatedly remind them that she needed a break. $4K+ to have a worse smile than when we started.

For example my bite felt really off, my teeth were hitting on one side and not the other. When attempting to address the concern the doctor became very short with his response and did not want to answer in detail. I am completely unsatisfied with the results of his work and his approach. When I first consulted with the Dr. Simmons to discuss having braces, he was very nice, polite and seemed to be very caring. Which is the reason I chose him as my orthodontist. However, it has been a very long 5 years with him. My dentist questioned how many teeth had to be pulled to achieve the desired goal. Dr. Simmons called my dentist and basically scolded the staff, this made me unhappy. Another issue was when I questioned the alignment of my teeth and them appearing slanted upward. Oh that was a big mistake because nobody can question his work. He acted as if I had no right to question him. So I continued with the treatment because my insurance had paid $2500 and I already paid the other $2500. Long story short the improper alignment was never corrected and after having my braces removed, Dr. Simmons refused to correct the problem. His attitude towards me became very poor and disrespectful. My teeth hit in awkward areas and the aren't straight. Please do yourself a favor and find another orthodontist. This guy is simply money hungry. I went for my bi-annual exam which is normally covered by my insurance 100%. They ended up doing a bunch of extra stuff and billed me $254.00, $50 is my deductible I paid that day. Then they showed that I owed $204 and set up a payment plan of $50 a month because I was not prepared to pay such a large balance that day. After insurance processed the claim I really only owed $191.60 total or $141.60 after my deductible was already paid. So I should have only had 2 payments of $50 and then the balance of $41.60 for the 3rd month taken from my account. As of right now they have taken $150 and still have 2 more payments scheduled to take from my bank another $50 then the $4 because they are still trying to collect $254.00 , which it should be $191.60. To me this is stealing. I have insurance for a reason and I expect to get 2 free cleaning a year if additional work needs to be done it needs to be discussed after my cleaning, then I can get a quote discuss with my insurance and do what is necessary at a future date. I feel like I didn't even get my free cleaning because I ended up being charged for it. They made me very uncomfortable with the extra work that was done, and after the cleaning normally you get your teeth polished didn't even happen, so they did not even complete the cleaning as far as I am concerned. I don't think they care about their patients at all just trying to collect as much money from you as they possibly can, then double dipping and being paid by the insurance as well.
