She quickly contacted me (like within 5-10 minutes) after I used her online booking portal to gather more details and to confirm my appointment time and location. She was transparent from the beginning and let me know that she had an appointment right before mine and that depending on where I was located, she may not be able to meet my time request. She quickly determined that I was within 5 minutes from her other appointment so she would be able to get to me in time. I proceeded to pay my deposit and I also received several texts and emails leading up to my appointment to confirm. On the day of, Kristin arrived early! She let me know when she was on her way, when she was parking (I was at a hotel) and when she was headed up to my room. I opened the door to a smiling face and a warm personality. Of course I enjoyed getting my makeup done but I also enjoyed getting to know Kristin and learning more about her. She's just an awesome person. So how did she do? Well not only was she quick, I have never loved my makeup as much as I loved it when Kristin did it. I've been to many makeup artists and Kristin is my favorite. I first noticed that Katie was not the most attentive and just plain late and rude during a couple phone conversations, but I figured maybe she was not a phone person. Everyone deserves a second chance. I thought she would be courteous and professional in person as her reviews seemed to indicate. I was wrong. Her "new studio" at the time of my trial session for makeup and hair was her personal apartment. She did not explain this ahead of time which threw me off. The place was very clean and chic, super cute decor but it was very weird to use her restroom with her delicate clothing hanging in there. Katie cut me off when I attempted to discuss the overall look I was going for and tried to show her inspiration photos. She was busy being angry at her late hair person because she had some event to attend after my appointment. The hair person was sweet once she arrived but was discussing with Katie as she was doing my hair that it was not a full time job for her. Katie was trying to convince her to work on another project and speaking condescendingly about a recent project. Is not the point of a trial to have time to discuss what you want as a client? I could barely say anything and Katie kept cutting me off. The look ended up being very bizarre, not what I tried to request and too much even on camera at several angles. My hair updo came apart immediately after a handful of hours. Katie also kept checking her cell phone and texting during my trial as she was applying my makeup (not sanitary, eww). I was polite as I left but had a terrible feeling about how she would behave if I went ahead with her for my special event and how she would make people feel. I informed her later in writing and with ample notice that we would not move forward with her. She insisted we move forward, sending long, argumentative e-mails that did not make sense. I can only imagine she was going through a lot to treat me that way and have such strange behavior. I wish Katie a swift and lasting resolution to whatever causes those challenges. I also wish her future success but cannot recommend her based on my experience. I hope all of this information is helpful to others trying to make informed decisions about how to spend their resources.

When I first came in, I was greeted and waited for my 11 AM consultation. Once 11 struck, I met Codi and she asked me what was I looking for. I explained to her that I typically don't have time for makeup and would like to have a routine that would be quick and effortless when I am on the go. She quickly got to work, explained to me each product she used, how to use it, and the placement of the product. I tell you right now that I could see a difference in my face even without my glasses (and I'm pretty blind without them!). Artee took photos afterwards and said she would post them on Instagram, but never did. I'm sure even she could see it was far from her best work. My make-up…read moreartist, Stephanie, listened to my preferences and always checked my comfort level prior to adding more "drama". She used multiple lines of products to achieve the look I was going for and it looked gorgeous. The make-up lasted all day even with extreme humidity and rain. Stephanie even went out of her way to cover up my sports-bra tan line. Facade also offers make up lessons and you can purchase their products. I definitely will go back! :-) FYI: Tips are only accepted in cash or check.
