It's been several years since I stayed in a hostel, and on a last-minute holiday to Stockholm, I booked myself into Castanea Hostel in the Old Town part of the city, staying in a 4 bed dorm.
It turned out to be a really good hostel - aside that it's really easy to walk past it (it's not well signposted) and the check in/out office is only open at limited hours, they are very helpful and do what they can to make your stay a good one. The kitchen, toilets and showers were clean (seemed like they were cleaned several times a day!), and the common area was very comfortable. It felt very homely for a hostel, and I met plenty of new people to hang out with whilst I was in town.
The bunk beds - Ikea, obviously - were comfortable as you can expect in a hostel, and renting of bedsheets and towel were a reasonable enough price. I didn't have any problems with anyone messing with my property (didn't even need to use the lockers) and overall had a really good stay. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a hostel in Stockholm. read more
