My son started attending in October 2025 in the Owls classroom, and from day one we have felt so supported, welcomed, and confident that he is truly cared for. The teachers are incredible -- attentive, nurturing, and deeply knowledgeable. Ms. Gina, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Heather, and Ms. Connie each bring such warmth, experience, and intention to their classrooms. It is clear how much thought and care goes into the curriculum, which is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. The play-based approach, small class sizes, and consistent structure create an environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. What stands out most is the strong sense of community. Stepping Stones genuinely feels like a family. We receive a daily report of what she ate, what she learned and what times her diapers were changed. This is huge! There's also a big sense of community. For example, the director had movie night with pop corn and goodies to provide families without air conditioning a moment of reprieve. Every teacher in the schoolhouse knows the children there. We are leaving…read morethe daycare this week as we are moving, and it will be incredibly hard to say goodbye to the wonderful community here. Leaving your newborn baby somewhere because you have to go to work is hard. Like, really hard. Especially if you're like me, and your brain is constantly thinking up horrific scenarios of "what-ifs". Explore & Discover made us feel comfortable, safe, and like family the whole way through, and made that transition so much easier. Before attending I did my research on all of our child care options, because I understood the gravity of leaving my incredibly tiny, vulnerable baby with a stranger, and wanted to be sure I was making the very best choice for us. I went through years of all of our daycare option's state audits and incident reports. I also weighed location, and the fact that E&D was a co-op. In the end, Explore & Discover was the clear choice. They had a massive wait list (get on early!), but because I only needed two days a week I was lucky enough to be called up to the plate, and I am so glad that I was. My daughter's teacher has not only taken amazing care of her throughout her time with E&D, she has also been my best resource for how to be a parent. I was one of the first of my friends to have a baby and the parent figures in our life were offering very outdated advice, but our baby's teacher taught me how to get her on a nap schedule, how to feed her solid foods, and gave ideas of activities that would stimulate her. She was an unending source of patience and knowledge, and really began to feel like an extension of our family. Because the center is parent-run, the parents are much more involved than I imagine they would be elsewhere, which creates this amazing community of people who genuinely care about their children. There are mom's and dad's nights out, group meet-ups, every-other-month parent meetings, and monthly newsletters created off of contributions of the parents. Having access to this community means that there is always someone there to help you if needed. They cheer each other on when there is a life event, they donate and contribute if a fundraising event is planned, and they rally whenever anything is required for the good of the community or the center. It is something so unique to E&D, and something we felt so lucky to be a part of. We were there before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, and because of E&D's attention to CDC guidelines there was not a single positive case within the community. I already mentioned this, but E&D was definitely the best child care decision that we made. Leaving my child at daycare was something I dreaded in the beginning, and grew to be something I (and she) looked forward to. She squeals when we get into the parking lot! I am genuinely disappointed to be leaving this community, but want to be sure to share what an absolutely amazing experience we had here in the hopes that someone like me, a new mother trying to make the best decision for her new baby, will read this and know she found the right place.

They kept delaying my meeting until I think Thursday the next week. They had school police there and they had to pat me down to make sure I didn't have a weapon. When I was in first grade i did quite well academically and socially, but I feel that after attending this school I noticed that the curriculum was significantly behind, in subjects like math. I felt that the math taught in 8th grade stuff you should be learning in sixth grade compared to what a LOT of other schools offer. I understand that this is a waldorf school with a different education but i found it very dissapointing. A lot of my time here at this school was spent on extracurricular events rather then our academics. I remember when we were forced to go to an event my friend was harshly disciplined for not wanting to sit in a chair at an event. Despite other students doing the same. This showed me that there was some inconsistency in their disicpline was enforced and their rules. My entire friendgroup was targeted and i understand why, we were all troublemakers and did not really listen to them. But why were we simply not allowed to stand? This school's focus on "Saint Michael" and related traditions was weird taking a cult like feel. Taking up most of our time in elemntary and middle school. Instead of focusing on academics. There was also an event called "may fair" where we had to participate in dancing around a pole with ribbons instead of learning. This is an odd tradition and a waste of time. Discipline wise, there was obvious biases. If a student had history of trouble like myself, they were treated more harshly then others. The school lacks proper elective options, especially during your elementary and sixth and seventh year. You're stuck with certain classes that do not help you in any way. one being "handwork" You cannot explore other interests in elective until 8th grade which you can only do twice a week via a block schedule. Even then those options were limited. Creativity was limited and it made me feel like I had little to none career choices in my future. There was only one counselor for over 300 students. It may be different now because i no longer attend that school but it made it very hard to get support when needed. Overall I felt that as if this school doesn't take its student safety very seriously. There were few security measures in place and the school lacked proper surveillance in hallways previously. It now has better surveillance. It was easy for anyone to enter the campus. Which made me concerned for everyone's safety. The school has many flaws and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone looking for a good education.
