I knew when it was time to send my infant to a daycare facility, this would be the place. Not only is it affordable but we LOVE the teachers!! My son is an easy going guy and he has had a smooth transition into daycare, which is so comforting to a new and first time mama!! He is actually a much happier guy on days that he spends socializing with other babies and the teachers are always so attentive to him and are very communicative with me when I come pick him up. I cannot imagine sending him anywhere else!!

They're both incredible, detail oriented, and we couldn't have been happier leaving our son in their care. The previous Director, Brit, was also very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. After pulling our son out of KinderCare for a while during COVID, we returned in Spring '21 and there was a noticeable shift in the staff and attitude when we returned. It's only now that we're with a different daycare company that we realize how bad things really were at this KinderCare. Things were weird with dropoff/pickup, requiring parents to hand our kids off to random staff not allowing us in the classrooms due to COVID concerns, which we definitely appreciate, but this lack of seeing past the front lobby continued well after vaccines were available and the majority of CO residents had gotten them. There were times when we had to tell the person who our child was and what room they were supposed to be in as we're dropping them off. Not once after returning in Spring '21 did we meet the people caring for our son. One day he would be in one room, another day he would be in another room. It was weird having to leave our son with whoever randomly came out to get him on any given morning, not knowing where he was ending up or who would be watching him. Randomly the Director then emailed all of the parents saying she's moving out of state in two weeks, another odd red flag. During this time (Spring '21) it wasn't uncommon for us to get photos of our son being served meat, despite explaining that we're a vegetarian household. We would bring it to the attention of the staff and get responses like "it was only part of the photo but we didn't actually give it to him to eat". What?! He would routinely have accidents at daycare, despite at this point being potty trained and having no accidents at home, which had us wondering how often he was able to go to the bathroom or if his teacher paid attention to his requests to do so. There were a few times where we picked him up and his shorts had clearly been wet for a while, but he obviously hadn't been changed. There were also times when they emailed all of the parents asking to pick our kids up early because they didn't have enough people there to watch them. One week this was requested for 3 days in a row. This completely negates the point of child care if working parents have to leave work early to get their kids for no other reason than this KinderCare can't seem to figure out staffing issues. Finally one day at pickup (outside, waiting in line) I asked the Asst. Director what was going on since things had clearly started going off the rails here, and she told me they were trying to hire new staff "who actually care about their jobs". She also let me know that numerous staff members put in their 2 weeks notice and then just never returned. Yikes. As weird as all of this made us feel, it's only the stark contrast of our current daycare that brought to light how mismanaged Canyon Point KinderCare was by the time we left. If you're a parent questioning if what you're going through at Canyon Point is acceptable, it definitely is not.

The staff at Pathways were caring, patient & resilient. The school went through some management change & the teachers and staff handled the transitions with grace and good spirit. Several staff members had their children enrolled in the building, but it was hard to say who was a staff-kid because every child was loved so well. Leaving your precious child with strangers can be hard, but Pathways didn't feel like strangers for long. Thank you Pathways! We love you!

When our son was brought into Sunset Academy for a tour we set the expectation that he might be…read morebehind socially, as well as a bit bolder or more assertive than other kids due to his size. He would also have trouble with eating on his own and naptime, especially in a new place. The director told us not to worry and helping our son along with all of this was their job, they were the experts with college degrees and training in child development. He did have trouble sleeping, but within a handful of times spent at the center he knew to go to his cot and be quieter, he was learning to model after the other children. However when he awoke crying for mommy and daddy, a common occurrence, they sent him out into the hall alone, then called for his mother to pick him up. This taught him that crying would result in getting what he wants and this was ok, also that nobody at the center would be there for him. The center (on their website when we had signed up) had indicated that we could be part time for the first 2 months our son was in daycare. It was brought up multiple times to the owner during the tour as well as the office Manager Nina that this was the case. our son's first week at the center, the owner and Nina approached our son's mother and indicated that they weren't aware he was only part time. She made it very clear they'd stated that and the owner agreed verbally to allow 2 months to be part time. At the end of May, the owner approached Crystal and indicated that he never said "two months" his policy was "one month" which had at that point changed on the website as well. He told her that she could start June 7th as full time and we adhered to that and started him full time on June 7th. That day, we showed up as planned on Monday and after 1 hour, our son was sent home because they were "understaffed" and unaware that he had been switched to full time (despite the owner being the one who insisted on it, we did not). This was the same monday of the week he was kicked out on Wednesday. Two days before our son being kicked out of Sunset Academy (the day after the above incident), our son's mother was sent home in the morning with a series of 'Incident Reports' from Sunset about our son's trouble sleeping, eating at the appropriate times, and not "interacting" with other children. This is a clear violation of the "Parent's Handbook" that is provided on the Sunset Academy website that indicates they will make every effort to work with the child and their family before forcibly removing them. Two days is not a reasonable amount of time, especially since there were no real details or plans for how we could help improve, just problems we were aware of now. The only thing that was offered was that our son should have his occupational therapist come into the building, which we immediately (that day) arranged with the occupational therapist to find the best day that would work for all parties. In addition, these "incident reports" were handed to us all at once and there was only one with a date on it, which was from a previous week. We were suddenly expected to solve all of these problems in 2 days (with literally only that amount of notice). To be clear, these were not brought up in any official capacity prior to this situation (our son's teacher had indicated he had problems sleeping and adapting but they were working on it, they had reached out asking for some ideas, and we provided them and it seemed to be improving, the teacher even said as such). Before we get into the date he was kicked out, we're like to provide additional incite into the center and how they treated our son during the time he was there. Our son was sent home early from Sunset 2 out of the 3 days he was enrolled . There were a variety of reasons that they provided to us: they had meetings to conduct during our paid time, our son did something they didn't like, or they had some staffing issue. One time in particular one of their faculty was sent in while already injured and they asked for volunteers to come pick up their children-- which we complied with despite it causing us additional stress and our son having had little time in the center. Often when our son came home after being at Sunset, he would be extremely hungry and thirsty. When we would watch on the video, they would place him in front of his food, he would wander off, and occasionally they'd put him back but in most cases that we saw, they did not...
