Mike, the manager, was able to accommodate all our requests, and the lake is to die for. The place is only 5 min from the strip, but it is so quiet and peaceful, you'd think you were in the wilderness, miles away from civilization. I like the location, we were in cabin 23 and it was right next to the beach, and close to the docks and the playground. The cabin was clean, but old and dated and had a mustiness to it. The beds were not very comfortable. The deck was great and honestly, we spent the majority of the time there. The resort is close to everything - but never felt that way. It is quiet and serene. Even the resort itself didn't feel crowed even though it was pretty full. The ground is covered by soft pine needles that are way better than grass and I think help keep the bugs away. And I should say - I normally attract mosquitoes from three states around. In the time it takes me to water flowers at home, I can have 3-5 bites. I came home from 4 days at Island Pointe without a bite. HUGE!! I also loved the shadiness of the area. I hate sun and it was easy to avoid it (it was easy to get it too - on the beach and the pool, for those that like sun). The staff is super helpful and respectful. They take a lot of pride in the resort. Honestly, I think that my cabin at least would have made this a 5-star review but the fact that my husband slept with a t-shirt wrapped around his pillow case, means that the cabin could be brought more up to date. It was clean for sure, but still felt...old.

Basement sand…read morecollapsed into the hole builder asked him to fix it and he refused unless he was paid more money. Builder had to call in a different excavator to fix it. Pole building site was to low and would flood so when asked to fix he said only if you give me more money. New excavator is here fixing now.. Beach on pond did not pass the final walk through by the designer so he would only fix if we paid him more money. Beware this is just a very small part of our terrible experience.. Will share photos of your home site and when we asked him to take them down he refused.
