We decided to dine "family style" and chose chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. Our sides included a house salad (I had the house-made orange zest dressing; my companion chose Thousand Island), green beans, mashed potatoes, and corn. These were served with rolls that literally melted in your mouth. Before the main course was served, we enjoyed some of the best fried green tomatoes we've ever eaten. The portions are generous, and they gladly boxed up our leftovers--and I look forward to having those tomorrow. Though we were thoroughly satisfied, we were unable to pass on dessert--all homemade. I had the lemon berry mascarpone cake, which was served with a side of fresh whipped cream. My friend had the pumpkin pie--which was the perfect taste of fall.
