Came in for a few boxes so I could move my wine and liquor into new house. Worst experience. Felt like a criminal. And I Have been buying liquor at Castle for 30+ years. No more. My wife just bought a case this past weekend and he said: we have to save boxes for current customers. I said I am a current customer. He questioned it saying I didn't look familiar. ... He had 100+ boxes stacked in the corner - and would only ALLOW me to take 5. Horrible. Just not treated right. Last time I will ever set foot in Castle Wine. read more

Be careful. They bait and switch prices on you. Price on wall for beer is "not updated" so charged me $4 more for a 12 pack. Sorry will fix it for the next guy. This happened a few times to me. I was in a hurry so I let it slide. I'm done with these folks. Crooks! read more

The worst customer service ever. Long wait times for Deliveries and Deliveries to the wrong house just to name a few. Be warned if you call to ask them what happened and complain and your just a little upset be prepared to get short answers filled with attitude and then hung up on. I was hung up on 4 times without an apology or even an acceptance of responsibility including one of those 4 times when I asked for the owners name and number. There are so many great package stores in and around Westport that have great customer service and who would accept responsibility for a mistake they made in a heartbeat all without short answers and attitude. I will be going to Bev Max across from Stew Leonard's from now on. BTW if I could I would give 0 stars. read more

Bourbon was marked up quite a bit from suggested retail, in some cases, by more than $20 for what should be a reasonable bottle. The beer was much more fairly priced, with only slight mark-ups of $1-4 over CT stores that go low on their pricing. Selection ran the gamet from local CT breweries to Belgian, German and others. I've bought beer from them a few times, but definitely do not buy spirits here due to their higher pricing. read more

How has no one reviewed Castle yet!? This joint has been around since I was a kid... so 20+ years, and has been consistently getting the people of Westport drunk. When I was young, they used to have a dude dressed up like the grim reaper walking around the store on Halloween (irony anyone?) In all seriousness, GREAT liquor selection. And good prices too. They've also got a killer beer lineup. But obviously, the WINE is their specialty. So if you're a straight up wino, look no further than Castle. They will treat you right and know their booze. read more

I came here looking for some Trappist beers but ended up finding much more in the way of an unusual beer selection. Not only was there an extensive selection of singles to choose from (all the better for sampling), but the staff were also helpful and knowledgeable. The store front is unassuming but inside the choices are vast. One of the pleasant surprises was to find a beer selection that is not overwhelmed by IPAs. While we can all enjoy a hoppy brew from time to time, a choice of other styles is appreciated as well. The highlight of my visit was walking out with a Dogfish Head 120 IPA and Higher Math. read more

Castle is the best. We have been going here for years and will never shop anywhere else ever again. Not ONLY did they extend 30-40 minutes of knowledge to help us plan the right wine pairings for our dinner party (which went smashingly),..they were UNBELIEVABLY gracious when we left the store with our trunk wide open and sprayed 3 cases of beer, 1 case of wine and 3 bags of ice all over a busy Post Road!
