Watch out for Kevin, he is triggered by dissatisfied feedback and responds with attacks which become quite hostile and racist. Background: I had originally hired Kevin for window cleaning when his business started. The service was acceptable at that time, nothing stand out in my memory. But a year or so ago, the window cleaning service clearly degraded as one of my screen's frame was broken beyond repair necessitating replacement. I did tell him about it at the time but didn't press the issue because I have life time, no questions asked, screen replacement with my window company. I did felt it was odd that Kevin was completely unable to remark with an apology. Nothing. I did spend my time calling my window company to request the screen be replaced. More recently, I gave Kevin's company another chance and hired for house cleaning. The service was acceptable, however at the end, I was contacted by someone offshore in requesting payment. I felt very uncomfortable with that having believed I hired a local company. (As an aside, I have had horrendous fraud on my bank account on more than one occasion resulting in my being extremely careful in not doing business with any company that is offshore. The reason of this is quite simple, I have no legal recourse with a company that is not based in the US.) I have never worked with a cleaning service that had billing in another country. I see no reason for this. I personally want no part of a cleaning service that has business functions in another country, especially when that involves my using my bankcard. Fast Forward to this week: I was just contacted by Kevin asking if I needed window service. I chose to respond to his email giving him the feedback of why I would never hire his company again, that, 1.) He never responded to the fact that I had a broken screen from his workers and 2.) I do not work with companies that use offshore services. For these reasons I would not be hiring him for any services. Kevin didn't appreciate my feedback of why I wouldn't hire him. From that moment on, he repeatedly sent hostile and attacking emails, in addition to referring to Asians as "thieving cockroaches". He called me "mentally ill" ...he called Asians cockroaches and Brown people. As a parent of an adopted son from China, it was beyond shocking to read this in an email to me. I have attached screen shots of his email. Sadly, Kevin doesn't realize that a customer has a right to be dissatisfied and as a result of that dissatisfaction, not hire his company again. A customer has a right to tell him the reason for the dissatisfaction. As a business owner, he can either chose to make it right, if possible offer an apology, or accept the feedback and move on. Verbally attacking with racist remarks to an ethnically blended family is unacceptable. People need to also be aware that a request for payment for services will be done by someone outside the US. For me, as well as many others, this is a hard stop because of the prevalence of fraud these days. Discussion of this shouldn't cause a racist tirade of Kevin referring to other ethnicities/cultures in egregious ways. For this awful awful experience I would recommend that you not hire Castle Cleaners, especially if you're not a gender or race that Kevin would feel comfortable working with. read more

I hired castle cleaners for a move out deep clean and the job was not done as expected. I had a cleaner that came to the house on 9/5 and cleaned for ~3 hours. Because of my apartments schedule, I was able to go to the apartment on 9/19 to do an inspection. The "deep clean" was not done as expected. - kitchen sink dirty - dish washer didn't look touched - bathroom sink and tub dirty Castle Cleaners has a policy they'd do a re-do for free if contacted in 48 hrs but for people with non flexible work schedule, might be beneficial to look for a different cleaning service. I tried to work with Castle Cleaners as a affordable option (and since on yelp there were solid reviews) but my apartment is going to charge me $100 additional for everything that hasn't been cleaned. Friends were coming Wednesday so I booked this company to come Monday morning - they couldn't accommodate and told me they can do Tuesday. Okay.. that's fine! Still plenty of time. Tuesday morning comes along and at their arrival time, I get a text from Abby that the team was feeling sick but they will schedule a team to come first thing 8:30am Wednesday (the day I had company arriving) and I agreed! Trusting that they did their job of rescheduling and confirming with me ONLY after they had a confirmed scheduled team. She told me it would be an 8:30-9:30am arrival. Wednesday morning comes along and I wake up extra early to take care of the stuff I can before work - and they NEVER SHOWED. I kept calling and the only explanation I got was "they're not picking up, I'm so sorry I can't reach them" over and over again. I asked to speak with Kevin who has been helpful in the past, but was told "he's not picking up my calls". Seriously? Apparently they asked a team if they could come, NEVER got a confirmation, yet confirmed a rescheduled appointment with me. Most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a home service. If you book them, make sure you have a backup plan in case this happens to you. I missed an entire day of work because of how unreliable they were. P.S. I would not recommend Castle based on my first experience. I had hoped that paying a premium to find a cleaner through a referral agency would ensure a seamless and reliable experience as we were on a tight timeline to prep the house for a birthday party. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. The actual cleaning that got done was ok (not great, and certainly not "deep") and did not accomplish the full set of items we had asked to be completed for the reasons below. Late arrival - 30min after the stated arrival window had passed, the cleaner only then called to let me know she'd be another hour late. Ultimately, the cleaner arrived at my house 3 hours after the stated arrival time which was then 5pm in the evening. Not responsive - while cleaner was en route, did not answer calls. Calls to Castle agency number went to voicemail (they did eventually call back later). Unable to complete requested service - due to the late arrival, the cleaner was only able to partially complete the items needed in the 3 hours available before we needed to get our toddler to bed at 8pm. The cleaner did offer to come back another day to finish the job, but unfortunately it wouldn't work with our schedules before the birthday party, and there was no sense to have the job finished after the party. Again, we knew we were in a tight timeline and had hoped that going through a service would be a reliable option. Castle offered a 10% discount for the service, but that's not much consolation for a disrupted evening at the house and an incomplete job ahead of our upcoming party. read more

He was very understanding, apologetic, and he offered to refund me 50% of the total cost, which was far more than I was expecting or even asking for. Though the cleaning wasn't fantastic and my experience was awful, I genuinely appreciated the fact that he reached out to me to try to make things better. He took the time to understand where they went wrong and assured me that he had talked to his staff to try to ensure that the same mistakes wouldn't be made again. made an appointment through their website: one time cleaning for a x bedroom house at x square feet. general clean. i was provided a flat fee and estimated time to clean. received an email confirming my arrival window: 8:30-9:30 am on Friday. Then I get a text Thursday: Castle Cleaners charge per hour and could be more than what was confirmed via my customer dashboard on their website. also, arrival window is now 11:30-1:30. i think to myself "oh shit, i've double booked two cleaning services taht have the name castle in it! one company thats coming in the morning and this company, who charges by the hour that wants to come later in the day." NOPE. same company, just slipping in more costs and appointment times. when i took a photo of my dashboard and sent it to her, she said that information is not correct. OK so then why have a dashboard on your website that confirms appointments? My kid has been sick all week so I definitely have little tolerance today for bullshit. Apart from trust, a cleaning company has to do a job that many (like myself) are a bit more than anal about. My only experience with a cleaning company, that rhymes with schmandy, was so horrible I never wanted to deal with one again. But we needed a deep cleaning and I had to try, and I'm glad I did. I went through reviews of the local cleaning companies and reached out to a few folks. Kevin was the easiest to communicate with and was very professional. The other couple of highly rated companies in the area were a bit less responsive and difficult to nail down. We booked our appointment and Angelina saved the day.
