He passed all my cases off to his Of Counsel, Jeff Basso, esq. Who is overwhelmed and weak in his representation style. He rarely speaks up to any judge or opposing counsel and accomplishes little to nothing. Unprepared, he would often email the night before detailing a next day court appearance. When I complained, Patrick McCormick started getting involved again but he was not up to date on all details and it was like having new representation. Do not be enticed by lower hourly rates than other mid sized law firms, because they more than make up for it in aggressive billing and a lot of "research and Philosophy" that requires a real looking over! Hired Jeffery D Powell at this firm. He required $5000 retainer to defend me from a fraudulent ADA…read morecase against a property I own. The plaintiff had no injuries and a long history as they continue suing property owners everywhere using the same attorney for the same plaintiff. This shakedown tactic was recently on TV. Simply google ADA shakedown. Powell claimed to have a history and experience with this attorney suing and knew this shakedown tactic. I terminated his services in 7 days, 5 business days after finding another attorney having a successful dismissal against such a fraudulent case. Once Powell and this firm knew they weren't getting more $ they over charged me $1800 about $630 extra for unnecessary time and research. I am reasonable, they deserve to be paid for time spent that helps the client. Powell best advise was to settle claim and had no strategies to win the case. I expressed my dispute with specifics of over billing once I received the bill 30 days later since they had to return retainer money they took their time, as they also billed me while consulting to hire them. They took a month to return balance of retainer after helping themselves to what they wanted $$$. They did nothing constructive at all. A partner Linda Margolin emailed me with a one sided view point of view to keep 100% $$$, standing behind her charges without ever meeting me at any time or knowing any facts personally. Take my advise, save from my experience, this firm and attorney have no interest in a client at all just what they can bill you. You loose twice over charge bills and loose your case too.
