Dangerous and Harmful - Do Not Send Your Loved One to Catalina Behavioral Health My father's experience at Catalina Behavioral Health was not just disappointing--it was dangerous and harmful to someone trying to get help. We were promised that he would have his own room, but he was placed in a room with three other patients. There were no nurses on staff--only behavioral techs--leaving patients without proper medical supervision. In fact, patients were required to take their own vitals, which is completely unacceptable in a healthcare setting. Patients were also forced to cook their own food on scratched Teflon cookware, which is both dangerous and unsanitary. My father even requested new cookware, but his request was not accommodated. The food provided came from Walmart, consisting mainly of low-quality food with no focus on nourishing or balanced meals--critical for someone in need of behavioral health care. The doctor who prescribed medication was available only over Telemedicine, and my father couldn't understand her or the instructions given. She was also very abrupt with him and said "let's get on with this" Meanwhile, a tech drew blood at the dining room table, completely disregarding proper medical procedures. As patients talked, they discovered they were all being prescribed the same medication, with no individualized assessments. To make matters worse, my father was never given a treatment plan on the day he arrived, leaving him with no clear direction or care plan. It's clear that whoever owns this facility is just trying to get money and has no real concern for patient well-being. They're lying about what this facility really is. This treatment facility is a con and isn't just neglectful--it is harmful for people who are taking the courage to get help. I'm honestly not sure where all these good reviews on Google are coming from because they certainly don't reflect the reality of what he witnessed. If you're considering sending a loved one here, do not. This place needs serious reform, and management must be held accountable. read more

The staff is amazing! Dave, CJ, Tori, Kylin, Shawna, everyone! It was hard to start at first, but I'm glad I stuck with the program and completed it. Lots of underrated skills and packets of information, along with exercises were provided, which I have been using since attending Catalina. The only constructive advice I would give, would be to stay consistent with the level of care. Whenever I wanted to speak to someone, I was, for the most part, immediately connected to them. BEWARE. This facility uses unscrupulous coercive business practices to bill your insurance or, God forbid, yourself or loved one for completely inadequate addiction treatment administered very poorly by people with very questionable qualifications. If they decide you need detox, they will send you off site to an understaffed "hospital" and refuse to send you clothing and personal items. They will then lose your clothing and personal items. When you follow up with them, they will gaslight you, telling you you were too high to remember what you packed even though you were somehow able to file 2 FMLA claims for your employer and do an exhausting intake process, but were somehow not lucid enough to count your underwear. They will not explain what treatments are available or allow you to see the location or condition of the residence prior to agreeing to their treatment plan. Once you agree to the treatment plan they remove all of your agency and free will. You will be threatened with adverse billing consequences when you try to refuse treatment (AMA), and they will refuse you transportation from a remote location. They will not allow ANYONE to come pick you up even if you agree to leave AMA. This rehab COMPANY is little more than an extortion scheme devised by former addicts to maximize their profits. DO NOT GO INPATIENT WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION. I had extreme withdrawal symptoms due to being over prescribed at the detox facility Catalina sent me to against my will that I still have not recovered from. When trying to address these concerns I was repeatedly gaslit by the receptionist, who answered the phone using a different name several times (sit in the lobby for 30 minutes). The details of my experience were distorted by this person to fit their narrative (and potential legal defense). This company was able to bill my insurance for over $10,000 for traumatizing me for 7 days and stealing my personal belongings. The least I can do is warn anyone considering treatment here - - Make sure you do thorough research on your treatment and your facility BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING. Do NOT GO!!!! Did NOT HELP MY SON at ALL. Came home with bed bug bites. Never signed consent for treatment, was not stabilized on medication. The whole point for residential help is to stabilize on proper medication, and how about a diagnosis. Of course not, since there isn't even a psychiatrist overseeing this place. Very very sad! They need to be shut down for insurance FRAUD. Research and find better, it is out there. read more

Do not go here. This place will promise you help and not give it to you. You won't go anywhere, do anything but you will be locked up. Your "therapy" you have to schedule and do not schedule with Stephanie. She's a mess herself. Not lying, cries at work daily. She also doesn't have a license and works under the twin owners license. Group is Monday- Friday and those are also a joke... literally a joke. Your meals are planned by you with hopes that nobody takes anything. Your chore chart will be on the wall like you are a 2 year old. I hope you love being outside cause that is the best therapy you will get. And by outside I mean sitting outside in the grass alone. The "gym"is a POS treadmill. They will mix up your meds and try to drug you up on other things. Rules will change daily. People run away because they will not let you leave.
