I have seen several doctors here, most were ok and seemed to care. It is the staff who is far from nice. I called yesterday and spoke to Dr. Adras medical assisstant (wish I knew her name) she is one of the rudest people I've ever been around. She acted as if I was bothering her and was in a hurry to hang up. I told her I wish I didn't have to call I'am only calling because I'm sick. She is in the medical field and I'm sure was taught about caring and being nice. When I said I need more than the cough meds precribed to me when I saw the doctor on the 10th, she said she would send him a note. I explained I have a fevor, headache and chills. Alot of the bad stuff has been taken care of... When I went there..I. HOH.I motioned to gal at front desk I was HOH..she immediatly gave me a "gotcha " sign. and motioned for me to got to chair on right. Another gal came out who understood when I said "just speak SLOWLY and articulate and I.ll understand..She got it, and passed it up the line to Dr. Locher. In their business they have been deluged with COVID patients.. plus their regular load. I was told they had some changes in staff. The doc had my x-rays and we determined I had low grade emphysema ..but it WAS reversable. They got my Rx updated and I was on my way within 30min of checking in... Ive stayed with this place because I liked the drs that I have seen. My cardiologist thought I had sleep apnea. I said I'm on a cpap machine He said you need to see that dr again. So I called Catalina chest told him what cardiologist said. I get a message back they said was from dr. "Stop useing cpap and the y scheduled an appointment three months out " two months later ofFice calLed and asked if I reaally needed to see dr. I said yes. They said ok and hung up. Days before appointment they canceled my appointment and offered a tentative appointment for June. I said no. I want a firm appointment time like every other dr gives. Unbelievable! Been a patient for years. The original doctor that retired was great. Once he retired, it became a nightmare. You were told which doctor to see or told to leave. If you needed a note about the mask because it was proven that you faint in a mask, they refused, saying it's political when there was an actual medical concern that they were happy to ignore. You wait on the office staff and the doctors, but they don't care if you are disabled, have to depend on others to get places, or a caregiver. So you wait a long time for them, but they don't have any patience for their patients. If the doctor doesn't like how you are reacting to their medical treatment, they push you away from their practice as fast as they can. You can take their medication every day, if it doesn't work, they don't want to bother. They don't keep accurate documentation. If you make an appointment months ahead and then end up in the hospital when the appointment is, they will count the cancellation against you. You also get lied to in your face. The office in this doctors office is awful! After my visit Dr Adra wanted to schedule me back in 2 months but the office said they couldn't schedule that far in advance but they will call me within 2 weeks and assured me that i would be scheduled first since they couldn't schedule that far in advance. I didn't hear back from them so three weeks after my appointment i kept calling and they kept telling me they would get back to me and didn't. Finally after another 1 1/2 hours on the phone i got them to squeeze me in way to early and on the worse day possible but when i ask them why they keep not doing what they say they will they tell me I'm talking or complaining to the wrong person. I'm going into the next appointment so i can tell Dr Adra personally how incompetent this office is. read more

Dr Adra, Pulminologist, at the Catalina Chest Clinic in Tucson AZ is the WORST Dr. I have ever come across. His office has rescheduled our appt three separate times. We've had to wait for months for all these appts to just get called the day before each one to reschedule for another 6 weeks out. Just got a call today... refusing to honor the third reschedule! The appt is tomorrow!!!! When I asked why... I was lied to, refused any further information and hung up on!!! They will be reported to all the proper avenues! I came in today for a Pulmonary Function Test...it went very well, and my tech was very caring and professional...T. They don't return calls. I called on a Wednesday and left a VM for the MA for Dr Kakish. Her VM says she'll return the call within 24 hours. I waited until the following Monday and still never got a returned call. I called the office again that following Monday and they told me they sent her a message to return my call by end of day. Now Tuesday, 24+ hours after, still have not received a returned call. read more

Fighting a cough for over six months, I was all bu t hopeless until I got to Catalina Chest Clinic and Dr. Chacko. This was one of the best experiences I have encountered in a medical setting. The front desk staff was warm and personable. Paperwork was mostly filled out and ready for me on arrival, only needing a few details and signatures. I really dislike having to fill the same information onto 10-12 documents any time I start a new relationship with a medical practice. I was called and back into the exam room within five minutes of my scheduled appointment time. Dr Chacko is a great listener, never making me feel rushed or as though he had figured out what was wrong before I even arrived. Taking time to explain what was going on, what he saw on the x-ray, and what our course of action would be, I left feeling that I have a partner in conquering this cough, and recapturing wellness. I agree with the other opinions. Absolutely the worst. Amy Carlson left and that was a tragedy. Impossible to get through by phone and office visits are hurried and prescriptions are not correctly sent to the pharmacy. I would not recommend them to anyone and I have since stopped using this medical office. Just terrible. Stay away. read more

I had submitted a review last month but it never made it into "print'. i'll try again. All support staff have beeb absolutely great. They all have a ready smile and a sincere laugh when appropriate. The office is well organized and timely. For three appointments I've waited no longer than 8 minutes to see the doctor - from entry thru the exam room. The doctors comments are always understandable (can't always say that about other practices. ) All in all, this is a quality practice and I hope they continue to hire properly and train their staff. This is the worst dr's office I have ever seen in all of Tucson. We have been trying to get an appointment since July and have been given the runaround by their staff that they can't get the doctor's records from our referring doctor. When we asked what we should do, the patient scheduler stated that we should go to the ER. We ended up going to the ER after another week and was admitted to the hospital for 2 days. We saw Dr Adra at the hospital and when we tried to schedule for a follow up 10 days later at the request of Dr Adra, we were told they wouldn't see us because we had harassed their staff. I think Carlotta must work there. Her review is opposite of most. I tried for 3 weeks to make an appointment with no luck. They do not return calls and Kelly is the rudest person I've ever spoken to on the phone. It's amazing this clinic is open. I wonder if the doctors know how bad their office staff is?! I called five times to schedule an appointment with Dr. Chacko. First they told me that the fax number my primary care physician used was incorrect but it's the fax number listed on their website. My PCP sent their referral to the number given to me by Kelly and when I called again and left a voice message with the scheduler, she never returned my call. Called again a day later and spoke to Kelly who was going to contact the scheduler herself and have her call me. Still waiting. I have been a patient at Catalina Chest Clinic since 1997. If it was not for Dr. Bronnimann I would be dead. With, my breathing being bad caused by a industrial injury. This is absolutely an office that does not help patients with issues, passes you around from staff to staff, has you do troubleshooting instead of helping and lets patients go without needed equipment for WEEKS. My husband had sleep study 6/3/2020. Sleep apnea tech provided him with a full face mask when the nasal mask(which he's been using for years) wasn't helping him during study. Discharged him WITHOUT the mask. Sent info to office of Dr. Kakish. After multiple calls and transfers my husband STILL does not have his mask. Very poor sleep quality, falling asleep during day multiple times. Have called office at least three times and they just send you to the dme company. The dme company told my husband he had a full face mask and has had it for years. This is totally untrue. After FOUR weeks he does not have the mask and no one is interested in helping get this equipment. Why didn't the tech send him home with the mask he used in the study? Why doesn't the staff help him get a mask? Why don't they call the dme company to help? My husband is at risk of a heart attack and other health issues from poor sleep due to inadequate equipment, lack of follow thru by this office and no supplies provided by the dme company who didn't even know what equipment he had. I read all the negative reviews on here and have to STRONGLY DISAGREE! I was referred here for a sleep and Pulmonary issue and was able to get in that very same day. Kelly and Marlene went above and beyond to make sure I was helped. They were soooooo caring, helpful and extremely nice and polite which helps especially when you are worried and don't feel good. Dr Kakish was to the point and answered all my questions. amazing bedside manor. I was very pleased with the entire staff at Catalina Chest clinic. Everyone had a smile and welcomed each patient that walked in the door. I spoke with the office manager Virginia who was a wonderful delight to speak with and let her know she was doing a great job with her staff!!!! read more

I was referred to this practice for changes seen in a lung CT. I have called to schedule an appointment five times. I have left messages, talked to two appointment personnel but have no appointment or return calls for an appointment. I was told since I saw one of the doctors two years ago (and didn't want to see him again), they needed his permission for me to see one of two other doctors I did want to see. I can see if I was a long term patient of the first doctor where this would be necessary but not for having seen him once for five minutes two years ago. I now feel that if it is as hard to get treatment as it is to get an appointment, I would never trust my care to this practice. This is in my opinion, a good place to avoid. read more

I went here for sleep paralysis that were severe enough that I basically wasn't getting restful sleep at all, which obviously is unhealthy and very unsettling. U of A health center referred me here since this is about the only sleep specialist in Tucson that I (or the health center) am aware of. Anyways, they immediately put me on a medication (can't remember what it was called) but it did nothing so they switched me to Sertraline (Zoloft). Which ended up not working and caused me to feel lazy. They assured me that withdrawals were basically non-existent and put me on a low dose. I tapered VERY slowly off the lowest dose of the drug and I'm still experiencing withdrawals 3 months later. Maybe I'm the odd case, but I wish they made this more clear and had exhausted all other possibilities before diving straight into psychoactive drugs. I also wish they made it easier to contact the doctor (maybe an email address or something...?) so I could relay my experience to help them with treatment planning without paying for an appointment. read more

I spent weeks trying to make an appointment at this clinic for possible sleep apnea. They are closed for lunch from 12-1 even though there are over half a dozen people working within the reception area, and 4 people actually at the reception desk, so if you're on a lunch break at that time, don't expect to get a hold of them. When someone finally answered the phone and I told her I needed to schedule an appointment, she transferred me to the voicemail of a woman named Kelly. I left a voicemail and got a call back 2 days later. Because I work in a spa with clients, I cannot answer my cell phone. So she left a message. I called back and even though someone answered the phone, I was once again transferred to Kelly who didn't answer and so I had to leave another voicemail. I didn't hear back at all this time so I called again, was transferred to her again, and again had to leave a voicemail. This went on for so long that I finally told her in my voicemail to leave some dates and times. I didn't know why the people who answer don't schedule an appt or why Kelly never answers the phone but it's utterly frustrating. When I finally managed to get a hold of her and told her how hard it was to schedule, she acted surprised and said she never heard that before, which I find hard to believe if people are always transferred and have to leave a message. I didn't get a call for an appt confirmation either but I had it on my calendar....Once I got there, the woman at front desk was really unfriendly and almost hostile. In addition to the standard paperwork, I had to read and sign a sheet that went into great detail about their cancellation/no show policies and that being more than ten minutes late would result in a reschedule. And yet, it was 20 minutes after my appt time before I was finally called back. I arrived early and finished my paper work by my appt time and yet I still waited 20 minutes after my appt to be seen. The only bright side was that the nurse practitioner, Amy Carlson, was really friendly and personable. She is the only reason I'm not asking my doctor for a different referral. This place is absolutely ridiculous, do NOT give them the time of day if you are new to Tucson and have any type of lung issues. I have been in Tucson for over a year I half AND I have had asthma and lung problems since I was 5 years old. I informed them that I'm in between primary practitioners due to the last practitioner moving and not being accessible to me, as well as letting them know that I had a hysterectomy in October and got pneumonia after the surgery, and for the last month my right lung has been having problems getting enough oxygen I've been doing breathing treatments. I then tell them I have a PPO insurance and have never had to get a referral and Kayla in the new patient department told me that they could not see me until I had record that I wasn't asthmatic or some kind of record showing that I had lung issues and needed to be treated by a pulmonologist. I am floored. I can't believe they would keep somebody who has a long-standing history with medicines on my counter all relating to my lung Health, from seeing a specialist and getting the proper care that they need due to some regulation of "needing proof". I am proof enough. I am appalled at that rule - that is ridiculous. Do not waste your time...what an embarrassment to specialists everywhere!!! read more
