We just enjoyed the dolphin/sea lion tour with Captain Scott on Thursday. I booked tickets last minute the night before with ez tickets and heard from Diane the next day to confirm our tour. Took the Inland Expedition tour for $85/each (discounted rate!). Had a driver who talked nonstop about everything from how he is an alien to inaccurate info about the area. He talked as if he was talking to himself with no room for questions. He was not a good speaker - very disjointed while giggling at himself. The driving was good but got tired of his opinions about everything from aliens and portals to politics. He didn't watch his time and almost made cruise ship people miss their time. When they it pointed it out to him he finally got quiet, and drove fast with attitude. read more

We did the electric bike tour for the first time. Our guides were fabulous. We went up in the hills to see gorgeous views, the Wrigley mansion, botanical gardens, chimes tower, interesting homes, canyons, etc. Great activity for visitors. read more

Cpt. Sandra was an awesome whale watching guide. Unfortunately, we only saw 2 spouts in the distance and a fin coming out of the water. We simply didn't have enough time "chase" them. We got sidetracked by bottle nosed dolphins playing near/under the boat. So many of them! We saw a bald eagle, seals and tons of sea lions. Also had the pleasure of watching a pelican swoop down in front of us and grab some lunch. So cool. We also loved that it was a max of 6 passengers so it felt private and personal. My only complaint is that 2 hours flew by. If there was a 3 or 4 hour tour, it would be perfect. Thanks for the great tour! read more

Tour was informative for the history of the island. The tour guide could be considered friendly by some but rude by others. If you are looking for something a bit more adventurous or thrilling then I would go for a different tour. Seeing the size of the airport was interesting and so was the drive up and back. If you are afraid of heights and tight roadways, I would really ask for more information before taking this tour. read more

I can't speak to any of the other services on here (which seem to be getting mixed reviews) but myself and my husband did the East End Adventure Tour last week. I feel like our tour leader and Hummer-driver, Cindy, was the best guide I have ever had for any experience, and I have done many on my travels! Her energy, humour, generosity, patience and expertise made the trip well worth the cost and we enjoyed every second. Cindy really did go above and beyond, and her enthusiasm for the island, nature and those of us participating was SO infectious. We were lucky with beautiful weather, dramatic cloudy mountain tops and spotting the rare local foxes. Thank you Cindy for being so professional and giving it your everything - even though you'd done the same tour twice already! The warning for back/neck issues had me slightly concerned, but it's really not that bumpy especially if you sit at the front - so don't let that put you off. The only reason ths isn't a 5* review is that the person selling us tickets promised there would be water provided. And... Cindy didn't seem to know anything about that claim. It was hot, dusty and the trip is two hours... water seems an obvious safety feature. read more

The flying Fish tour was on time, comfortable and affordable. The flying fish were flying and we saw them. Catalina is the only place in California that has them and we were worried it was the end of the season, and would miss them. It is a night time boat trip so dress warmly. It's a different way to see the ocean at night. read more

Our boat captain was very professional and fun. The company is really great at communicating. They even called the day before to make sure we knew where the meeting point was for our excursion. We were there on a busy Saturday too. Even though we did not see any dolphins, we were happy to see the barking sea lions and all the birds. The music on the trip was awesome. Our boat captain took some great pictures of us. The other company who took us parasailing (a package deal) later in the day was not as good in comparison. We went back to the same office (my mistake in making an assumption there), 15 minutes before the go time only to be surprised that we were in the wrong office. When we got to the green pier for the parasailing, they were really rude and short with us ... As if we had arrived late on purpose or something. We ignored the snotty little girls (SLG) and had a blast. The men running the parasail boat were great so those SLG at the office were quickly forgotten. One SLG asked if we wanted the pictures, which were $20 and since it was a special trip, we went for it. (We did the same thing with the dolphin/sea lion package.) HOWEVER, The SLG then failed to inform the boat crew that we had paid for the camera package. Thankfully, I noticed he was not taking pictures when myself and my husband flew. I made sure he knew that when the guest of honor was flying, he took the shots. I should not have had to manage this. If I owned Catalina Coastal Tours I would immediately find another vendor for the parasailing trips. There are many from which to choose. read more

Our first visit to Catalina Island included a Skyline Tour for our group of 10. It was a really interesting tour and our driver Charles was funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. It was a great way to see buffalo and other wildlife and get a nice overview of the whole island. I would highly recommend this tour! Hopefully Charles will be your tour guide-he was great! read more

We took the 2 hour Jeep Eco Tour. Our guide, Maria, was very knowledgeable about the island and the plants and animals. We saw several bison on the trip, and stopped at an eagle habitat. For the most part, it was a nice tour, but my wife and I both feel that the tour would have been more enjoyable if Maria would have chosen a shorter distance with some stops along the way where we could have gotten out of the Jeep to take some pictures of the beautiful scenery. As it was, we only stopped twice. Once at the eagle habitat, and once for a bathroom break. My wife is an amateur photographer and was really looking forward to getting some great scenery photos. She wasn't able to get much from the bouncing Jeep, and only able to see the views from one side of a full vehicle. Very disappointing! read more

My wife an I went on the Catalina Island Zip Line Eco Tour. It was fantastic. It was a very exciting experience. From the greeting at the front counter though the pre-trip training and the 10 point safety inspection at the start of each of the 5 zip line runs my wife and I were made to feel safe and secure. The fact that each zip run and the harness we wore each had duel backup systems took the worry out of the experience and made it that much more enjoyable. The two guides "Kyle and Serena" that accompanied us on the runs were very professional, entertaining and extremely caring. Two people in our group at first were a little hesitant they did not pressure them into going on that 1st run but made them feel comfortable and they enjoyed the entire experience. I did not remember being told of the jolt I would feel at the end of each run when the break would engage of which I am sure I was informed. The first time I felt it quite unexpectedly it really made my pooper pucker that was the worst thing that happened. I came for my birthday! I schedule the Zip-line & Dolphin with Sea Lion excursion tour! We went as a couple and tried to explore everything. First off, I am surprised that the time window ended exactly on time. It was great. Everything went smoothly. Even though we did not see dolphins, we got feel the breeze in front of the boat which just swooshed away all my worries and concerns. The Zip-line tour was incredible with 5 lines. It was nerve racking, but after stepping your foot off the platform, it was thrilling. The two zip-line enthusiastic were extremely professional and comedic. I believe their experience made the whole trip enjoyable. It's a shame I forgot their names. However, I came on 11/11/2016 @ 3:40pm. At this time, one of your lines will have a beautiful sunset in the background if you want to take a picture! I enjoyed both events, and would recommend in the future. I only regret not having more time available to take the complete/unlimited day tour instead of just two. read more

I booked a Casino tour at catalinatours.com and was happy with the service except for one minor point: I didn't realize the website was a "front end" for eztix.com. I saw the eztix service fee only at the very end when paying with my credit card. It seems a little misleading to not disclose that up front. Having said that, the service fee was very small and everything went smoothly. I would use the service again since it provides a central location for booking the various Catalina tours. read more

Had a great time parasailing with Catalina Tours. Location was convenient from the docks. I just missed my appointment time by 5 minutes due to Catalina Express from Dana Point arriving later than expected. Catalina Tours let me go on the next scheduled trip one hour later with no additional charge! Great customer service. You get about 10 minutes up in the air, which is enough time. The ride is very smooth. It wasn't too cold or windy up in the sky. I went August 30th. read more

Meh. We took this tour on a warm day. The ticket agent told us to meet at the Discovery Plaza. She said to just go straight "down" from the dock and we couldn't miss it. Well, it was not that easy to find and more than a short walk. We almost missed the bus! The tour bus was old and had some duct tape patches on the seat handles. The windows were permanently open (missing) which was actually ok because that was all the "A/C" we had. We would normally take the long back seat for our family to have room for backpacks, kids, etc. but it was covered in stains. The ride was bumpy! I mean really bumpy. If you have back issues or are pregnant I would avoid this one. There are several beautiful view points on the ride, but they do not let you out to take pictures or look around. We did see one solitary buffalo on the hillside. By the time we reached the airport we were definitely ready to get off the bus and have some lunch. But the driver only gave us 25 minutes. So, we had some quick snacks, a bathroom break and came right back. Not very relaxing. They really push the "Killer Cookies" ... don't know why, they are just ok cookies. Then it was back down again. By the time we got back to the hotel my husband's shoulder and neck were sore. On the plus side, our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. She was great (that's why the three stars). But honestly, for approx. $50 per person, I can't recommend this one. read more

I reserved a jeep eco tour through the Catalina Island Conservancy. at a certain date and time for a party of 4. I was called back 1/2 hour later and told we could not get the time we wanted, It turns out you are not booking directly with the eco tour but through an agency who does booking for them, so by the time this agency called and tried to book our tour someone else had already booked it. So we had booked a different time. since we were a party of 4 I asked how the jeep accommodates 6 people plus the driver safely. I was reassured that everyone would have a seat and that it would be comfortable and that our party of 4 would not be split up when we arrived we realized the seating was not what they promised. It was extremely uncomfortable. there was a driver and 1 seat in front, 2 seats in the middle, and 2 seats in a third row with a very uncomfortable seat in the middle. I was stuck sitting in the middle seat the entire time. 3 of our party had to sit in the back row while one had to sit in the middle with another woman who was traveling with her mother who got stuck sitting in the front with the driver, I expressed my upset at the seating situation especially because of how much we paid for this tour. They did nothing to accommodate us. honestly there was nothing they could do since they over book these tours. this should have been a tour for 4 people not 6. I wish we had book the hummer tour then we would have been able to sit together. I would not recommend this tour the tour guide was terrible. My husband spotted all the wild life we saw not her. She would have driven by most of the bison we saw. read more

Just put your trust in her and let go, you will have an xcellent Catalina experience. Can't say enough to about Brandy and Bryan from the zip line, Andrew from the island conservancy jeep Eco tour or Sandra from Coastal Catalina adventures for our dolphin and sea lion boat excursion. Each guide taught us several new things, and helped really grow our apprecation for what a special place Catalina really is. Catalina tours made our trip!! I knew I wanted to explore Catalina on our visit and was happy to find Catalina Tours offering information, details and staff to help us make it happen! Lisa and Erin were very communicative and worked with us until we were happy with our tour schedule. We loved the eco jeep tour, learned a lot from Ron, saw a heard of bison among other amazingly beautiful sights and felt like he truly cared about us having the best experience possible!! The pirate escape room was a great challenge with exquisite detail and Nick made sure our experience was a great one. Our Kayak tour to frog rock was a huge highlight! We were the only ones in our time slot that day and saw lots of sea life, learned about the ocean and stories about the island. Felt very accomplished to kayak 2.5 miles total. Wow!!! Loved our time on the island! Also enjoyed descanso beach, the quaintness of being able to walk where we needed/wanted to go to get to tours, relaxation and dining options. The best food and dining experience at Bluewater Grill & Maggie's Blue Rose Mexican food!!! Amazing trip!!! read more
