When arriving you walk into a nice sitting area with comfy couches and relaxing music playing. You fill out some paper work just like you would do at any massage place it takes about 5 min after that is done you go back to the room. The room is very nice with pleasant aromas and a warm bed that you can just melt into. Dawn was my massage therapist and she is very knowledgeable of muscles and problem areas. She did a wonderful job, pressure was perfect for me. The price is very reasonable and you really can't put a price on how much she helped me. They have a variety of services from light pressure, deep tissue, hot stones and even cupping. When your done you can lay there for however long you need. When you go out they have a bottle of water waiting for you. Awesome place. I would definitely recommend to anyone. She was hitting on all the spots where my pain was and it was so relieving! AND she worked strictly on my problem areas to make sure I would leave feeling better than when I went in. Before I went in she already had my form pulled up and was already getting a sense of what I was needing from this massage. She was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice on what to do to help with my issues. Very sweet lady, easy to talk to, which was nice because I'm fairly new to the area so I definitely feel out of place. Setting up an appointment was very easy and convenient through their website. Although the site may say first time customers need to book through phone or email, I believe booking through their site is fine because I didn't have any issues at all. At one point during my session, I just wanted to sleep because that's how good the massage was! AND I'm so mad at myself because at the time I didn't realize that Helen worked on me for longer than my scheduled time WITHOUT charging me extra for it! I originally scheduled an appt for 30 mins from 3-330, but by the time I got out of there it was 4pm! Helen worked on me and my troubled areas for a whole whompin' hour and only charged me for a 30 min session. I wished I would've left more as a tip but I'll definitely make up for that the next time I go in. That was such a sweet gesture from her. I don't know if she just felt bad for me and my situation lol or what but that was very kind of her to do. And I didn't even get to say thank you!! The massage was so good I left still in a state of relaxation/puzzledness, lol! She also used something called cupping on me after hearing about my troubles so that was a first for me. Whatever she did, I definitely left feeling so much better. I'm literally laying here in my apt thinking of when to go back. And I would definitely go back here and not anywhere else in the Hickory area because she did such a great job. I can't emphasize that enough. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I've found my new masseuse! Though I'm sure her niece or her daughter would be just as awesome. When I was leaving I was introduced to her niece, Alicia I believe and was told her daughter, Brandi works there as well. So it's like a family business! And I'm sure if their momma/auntie is THAT great, I wouldn't doubt that they'd be any less great! I like getting massages every now and then esp when I'm feeling like I'm super tense or have lots of stress knots, it's great me time so if you just want to relax and get those knots out or if you're having troubled areas/pains, I'm sure these ladies will fix you right up. That's what Helen did for me anyway. I'm still struggling but I definitely noticed an improvement after just that one session. And not every massage place can do that for you. Helen definitely knew what she was doing and what to do for me to make me feel better. She even knew some things I didn't even have to tell her just by massaging me I think. Lol! What a pro. Definitely 5 stars from me for just her work and technique alone. She's definitely got that down without a doubt. Her service and kindness can't be measured. I was scared I would've been walking into a "not so friendly" place that would've just rushed to get me in and out, but that wasn't the case at all here. And she could've easily charged me for an hour's session not a 30 min session bc that's how long she worked on me for but she didn't. Why I don't know!! (Kind lady obviously) I wish she would've though. And trust me for that kind of work and relief she gave me, I would've been happy paying for the extra 30 mins! Shame on me for not leaving a better tip and for not realizing this sooner so that I could've personally thank her. That just goes to show that taking care of her patients' needs is a priority for her and it also reflects her character as a person. What an overall great first experience for me! Brandi was my massage therapist. The massage was nice however at the end of the session when I went to pay I was told that the 90 minute session was $69 dollars. I gave her $80 dollars and then she asked me if I wanted change. I said yes, then she asked me how much do I want back. I have a TIP for Brandi, If she wants repeat customers, let them decide if they want to tip or not. As a result of this I won't go back and considering that I've been getting massages every 5 weeks for the last 20 years, (and they knew this because they asked if I have ever had massage therapy before), I would have thought that they would have wanted a reliable repeat customer. read more
