I've noticed a lot more people come in during the winter season but that makes sense due to the weather outside. I've had a job most of the time that I've stayed here and I spoke with a counselor here and they are helping me find an apartment! Don't listen to the negative reviews! They serve us food at checkin and the rules are posted that you must let staff know your schedule and to call in before 5pm to check in. If you decide you want to donate the front door has a doorbell. Staff will receive it and make sure it is given to the right people. Take care and come volunteer sometime!

I, like millions of children out there, have experienced homelessness as a child and homelessness is something that is very near and dear to me. As a child, I grew up in a drug home and we lived many nights in our van, the park, homeless shelter (Opportunity House in Vacaville, Ca.), and in a park. As a child this wasn't easy, as an adult, I could only imagine. We've seen the issue in our community with homeless, most recently the tragedy of a young girls life at the Boise Walmart. This review isn't here to debate why people are homeless, it's to review a non-profit agency that is taking this issue into their hands and supporting individuals to end homelessness. I heard about CATCH from my partner, George, who was looking for community resources to help one of his employees who's been sleeping in their car. This review is based solely on research and word-of-mouth to bring community awareness and resources for our loved ones and other members in need in Idaho. I have not used their services. I will be adding both of their locations to Yelp and using primarily the same review. This is CATCH's first review and my 438th Yelp review. CATCH has three programs: Housing Placement and Rental Assistance-- help build a Housing Plan together to you find an affordable home in your name. They will sponsor the application fee, security deposit, and rent (eligibility requirements must be met). They offer as much rental assistance as is needed to stabilize you, which varies family-to-family. Case Management-- this is a person that stays with you after you've found a place. They will help you set long-term goals and help minimize the risk of recidivism. I've done Case Management and its some of the most rewarding and hard work I've done. They become a partner of yours. There to listen and help you help yourself. Financial Independence-- they partner with other providers, locally, to help you and your income. According to their website, they offer financial literacy, budget counseling, and job development skills needed to ensure that your income is sustainable enough to maintain your housing. The partner with Mountain West Bank to match your savings up to $500, which to me, is incredible! Way to go Mountain West Bank! The vets Roxie has seen there were caring, gentle, compassionate, concerned and genuinely interested in my dogs health. Educated, experienced and qualified to provide exceptional care for my animal. They have given financial assistance to me for my dog in the past more than one time. I've been ever so grateful for! Idaho Humane Society staff is courteous, they communicate between staff great. Professional opinions on one occasion that the mass removed from my dog ( a different dog) was not cancerous and recommended it wasn't necessary to send of for further research to find out if the mass was cancerous. She was accurate! Sadly this particular vet that provided care for the mass left the Idaho Humane Society. I believe she relocated. All my experiences with IHS have been good except one time about 13 years ago. My dog at that time was very sick, the vet treated me like I was abusing my dog. My dog was terminal, I didn't realize how sick my dog was. I got him from a rescue and I believe when I got him he was already very ill. Which I later discovered after the exam at IHS. The vet recommended to euthinize. I was in shock. The vet refused to let me leave with my dog and said the dog had to go into the hospital or be immediately euthinized. I couldn't afford the hospital care and the dog was obviously at the end of it's life. I wanted to spend until the next morning with my dog before I had him put down. The vet treated me terrible and basically tried to keep us hostage at The IHS. When the vet left the exam room for a few minutes, I immediately left out a side door with my dog and went home. Later animal control showed up at my door wanting to view my dog and take possession of my animal because of that vet! I had beat them to the punch and already contacted Kuna Pet Care Clinic for an appointment to have the dog euthinized the next morning. Once I informed animal control officer that no she wasn't going to take the dog and that I had made arrangements, the officer verified it with Kuna Vet Pet Care Clinic. And then IHS vet and animal control officer couldn't take action any further. Kuna Vet Care Clinic was extremely compassionate and helpful with the services to end the dogs life. It was a horrible experience with IHS. But this was many years ago and I'm sure that vet is no longer with IHS. Also I believe a vet like that one was a very rare vet in terms of vets aren't typically lacking compassion, treating animal owners like they are animal abusers. Vets usually aren't demanding and controlling either. I think it was a isolated experience. I don't believe IHS would ever have another vet similar to that one. I definitely highly recommend IHS. More than I would other vets and vet hospitals such as West Vet. They have horrible reviews.

Then just this week I had 3 excellent like new 2 glass and 1 antique brass chandeliers worth over 800 which I installed and wife did not like. Decided to donate could not return since installed then they said they have too many not even looking at them in the original boxes. It Just floors me these donation places turn away excellent relevant like new products. I wouldn't waste your time donating to this place guess they only accept gold bars or cash. DO NOT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME.
