He used to be the Executive Chef at Theo's and then 601 Arota in town and still serves many of the dishes they served there (now its the only place you can get them), but he has also come up with a variety of cool new dishes along the way. If you have any special requests, he can make just about anything. I think he has had the reputation of being upscale and high-end but I've heard from lots of people that they can do reasonable packages for those on a budget as well. (This included vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free options.) We were very satisfied with our decision! Everyone we spoke with at the wedding positively RAVED about the food. I know we made things difficult with our unusual requests (spaetzle, German potato salad, and pretzel rolls...) but Bob pulled it all off magnificently. I also know for a fact that our families are both enjoying all the extra leftovers. The dinner service itself went off without a hitch, and the set-up and reception were right on schedule. Laurie coordinated with us throughout the entire process, setting up multiple tasting sessions for our families (we live out of town), and hashing out all the details of our menu. She and her staff were both prompt and courteous, and were a real pleasure to do business with. Their pricing was super-reasonable for the quality and amount of food we were getting. The place settings and goblets were quite elegant, too. I will be sure to put in a good word with the Old Courthouse Museum to recommend you for future weddings in the Sioux Falls area. Such a beautiful venue for a summer wedding…read more First off, it's AIR CONDITIONED! And I mean really well-air conditioned! There are two huge units you can see working at the end of the building. At the summer wedding we attended in 90+ temps with 60+% humidity, it was a lovely, lovely respite. As the day turned to night the outdoors cooled a bit and we spent time on the patio. They had to have sprayed for bugs because I didn't see or feel mosquitoes. I knocked off one star because my sons were both wearing light khaki-colored pants and they sat on an outdoor seating area and there was some sap or other oily substance that left marks on their light pants. It didn't wash off so I have to get creative on getting it removed. Just a gorgeous place and not to hard to get to.
