If you need to kill time there's also a major mall across the parking lot. The District is attached to a restaurant (Roam). The restaurant has modern decor and is a fun environment. I wouldn't sing praises for the food, but it's a solid option when catching a show. The District is basically a mid size open box building with a stage at the front. We were on the rail so we could see perfectly. I have no complaint about acoustics within the building. There's a "U" shaped balcony above the concert floor. If you're on the balcony rail you would be able to see the show with no difficulty at all. My guess is the venue comfortable capacity is about 1,000 people. We only had water during our show, but I was incredibly impressed that a bottle of water only cost $2. I've been to similar venues in Milwaukee and Chicago and generally pay upwards of $5 just for a water. All in all The District is a nice midsize event venue Sioux Falls should be proud to call their own.

But I returned from a 13 wk crisis contract in LA to find that they had ratcheted their prices up by 100%, by vitue of their new 'first run!' gimmick. Crushing. You can still catch a $3.50 movie, but only classics, and only a few are ever offered. I loved having a true cheap seats theater in town (as any good town should) where you could see a new movie for less just by waiting a bit longer. It's truly a shame. You might as well pay a few extra bucks and go to Century. I will still go occasionally, but I guarantee I will spend FAR less money there now at $7 than I would have at $3.50. I realize we are in trying times, but this is just seems like a gouge. Otherwise decent staff, great popcorn, presentable facilities, quiet atmosphere. For the record, this would be 5+ stars a year ago. I was tempted to rate lower, but have to give some credit for their years of past radness.

This was an extremely interesting and educational experience. First, it's a free attraction…read more Second, you get to learn about the hospital's history. Third, you get to learn about history of medicine in general. Super cool experience for both the adults and children in my group! This was more of a self guided walk through museum. We didn't see any workers/volunteers, so if you have any questions you're more than likely on your own. There was a lot to learn and take in and just admire in general! We absolutely loved this place!
