The brought us in for a tasting, let us figure out exactly what we would and would not need (with expert guidance, of course) and were very low-pressure. They didn't need final numbers or menu until a scant 4 days before the wedding--giving us great flexibility. The onsite staff anticipated our needs and were really buttoned up and professional. They were totally above and beyond. My dad even insisted on tipping them extra above the gratuity we gave them. They were also inexpensive as far as caterers go ($11.50/person with our menu), and included a lot of extras (like a decorated buffet table, mirrors for the tables, candles, etc.). The food itself was awesome. We had SO many compliments on the food--and far fewer leftovers than we anticipated--which was a good thing. Since we got married the week before Thanksgiving, we planned a home-style holiday-type meal--beans, corn, rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing. We had carved roast beef and roast turkey (which can be tricky to get right, but everything was cooked perfectly). It wasn't as *fancy* as other catered-wedding fare, but it was darned tasty.

My sister booked their services for my mothers funeral here in the St. Paul, MN area. They charged her $95 for servers that I had to go find and inform that they were way short on food because instead of doing their job they were off planning another event under. It took multiple attempts of me telling Skinner's Catering's employees to go downstairs and see what was going on. At this point she went and as loud as she could counted the guests (my sister planned for 50, the planner, Jennifer from Skinner's Catering, said lets make it 60) she counted 54. At this point the employees from Skinner's Catering informed me that they charged my sister $7.95 a person plus server fees and other fees for 2 oz of deli meat and 1 bun. I pulled the lady to the side and told her she swindled my sister and she needed to fix this immediately; her response was "these people just eat too much, and I only brig 2 oz of meat and a bun; money isn't my job, someone else handles that." I told her she was unprofessional and what caterer who charges a server fee leaves an event to plan another instead of doing their job and watching over the event. The caterer then told a guest, our grandma, who took two sandwiches "you sure do eat a lot." The lady is 95lbs, I think maybe Skinner's Catering is just off on their "2 oz." On their website they advertise this exact option as a "deli buffet" for funerals but don't mention that it is only a small meat tray of roughly 1 slice of meat, a bun, and a spoonful of fruit and potato salad per a person. In the end I could carry on about Skinner's Catering being the worst service I've ever seen of all the events I have planned for my military functions and all of the locations and catering services I have used, but words just don't do justice to how horrible and unprofessional these individuals where. I would never recommend them.
