Tonight a friend and I ate at Catfish King and very disappointed in quality of the food. We ordered tthe regular catch and it was awful Had no taste and very dry, not like the fish they served a few years ago. Everything else was ok The waitress was very nice came by several times. I won't go back until quality of fish changes. My late husband and use too go often when you got big pieces of real catfish. read more

Ate lunch there Sunday,took 20 minutes to get waited on, when food arrived the chicken breast was cold and the beans were cold. Waitress never came back after she dropped off the ticket, had to ask another wait staff for a drink refill. Took 50 minutes to get food. Wait staff needs to smile, be more attentive, and not complain about the guests when that is who pays your salary. Has the opportunity to be one of the best full service restaurants in town. Good variety, one thought, add a grilled chicken breast to the senior menu. read more

Too many other options for catfish than going to this so so place with poor service. Average food , overrated.

Stopped to eat on way through on a long road trip. Looked inviting and reviews weren't terrible. Waitress was very nice & menu looked appetizing, but as soon as our food arrived, they decided to mop with EXTRA strong bleach chemical mixture. ALL AROUND US and another table in our section, we were literally choking from smell and lack of air. Three bites into our meal, we were forced to get up and leave. What would have been a pretty good meal, turned out terrible due to an overzealous worker trying to get her duties done to go home. On a good note, waitress was apologetic and courteous. Dont stop here after 9pm or close to close. My family Ordered 5 kids meals & a family meal and a double order of apples sticks. $47.00 Normally the food is hot to order, but because we didn't get our food until after 10pm we were told we couldn't separate the food & had to leave because of previous managers, stores being robbed, shot & killed while trying to close. My family had been craving fish from this place. We tossed the fries & hushpuppies just reheated the fish & fried apple sticks. We made a lunch reservation for 18 the night before. When we arrived the room was ready and they adjusted the tables for a total of 25 with no problem. Super helpful team of wait staff. The food came out hot fried catfish was awesome ! The best part was our adorable waitress. She really worked hard serving and keeping drinks refilled. A young blonde girl who's name I didn't catch. But she was super sweet and very attentive to our group. We had a wonderful family lunch thanks to everyone here and most especially our waitress. read more

The only reason for "1 Star" is there is not a way to give in zero stars. Pros: nothing Cons: 1. Restaurant was filthy with debris on the floors and tables left unbussed; 2. Ordered food left two children's orders not fixed because "the kitchen is closed" which was an interesting excuse since the other 8 orders were served; 3. Exit doors were locked while 15-20 customers were still inside (a serious violation of fire code) because "they are counting money in the back". I could go on but why bother. read more

The food was below average, the rice was so mushy, couldn't eat it, the beans were undercooked and tasteless, the fries were cold, they have taken away the salad bar but do not offer a salad or have lowered the prices, also very cold in the Dining Room , no towels in the restroom. read more

I don't even want to give them a star we went waitress came got our order ,she brought our drinks and we made our salads I saw her leave we sta there about 20 minutes table that came in after us got their food then we re still waiting table came in after table after us they got their food finally this waitress came said they couldn't read waitress writing why it took that long to realize they can't read writing I asked if they even started cooking she said yes how are they cooking if they couldn't read writing . We waited for Abit 15 or more minutes finally got order no apology or anything I won't be back for awhile. read more

Good home cooked food. The place was clean and food was very good. The staff was friendly, and they gave great suggestions on what to order. We had County Fried Steak, Great breading, flavorful white pepper gravy, and tender pinto beans were good. Hungry for hushpuppies, try a side order of them. They had a light onion flavor and served with butter. Lunch portion will come automatically with fried and the dinner portion will come with your choice of side item. The building is now call David Beards Steak and Catfish, so I'm not sure if they closed or just changed names but the location is the same. The salad bar was really good and fresh. My sister ordered the steak medium and the first one they brought out was super bloody and pink, but the second one was really good. Me and my mother both got the all you can eat catfish and shrimp both of which were just ok. I prefer my shrimp to have less batter on it, but the flavor was ok. To me it was a lot of money and not that good food. Personally I enjoy a Joe's Crab Shack or different catfish. But it was just ok. Kinda disappointing. read more

Place is great. I had the Scampi which was delicious. Salad bar was good. There were plenty of sides and the prices were very reasonable. Place is large and open and our waitress did a great job. This restaurant is now going on my rotation. Highly recommend! read more

Although the food was good and how waitress was a young nice girl, the other waitress in there was so disrespectful to the people in the establishment by taking crap about our waitress in front of everyone and not quietly I might add this was ridiculous to have to sit and listen to her took everything I had to keep from telling her about it. Really wanted to give three stars, but just couldn't. Our waitress was pleasant and tried really, really hard. My wife and I went for a lunch. Two sweet teas, two lunch fish specials, nothing hard, nothing specific or special. We got delivered a fish and a chicken strip. This was no big deal and was an easy fix. The lunch fish comes with three pieces of fish. In my opinion, a piece of fish or a serving should be 3-4oz. Seriously, our six pieces of fish may have totaled four ounces all together between both plates. Taste, however, was excellent! Fries were properly portioned and great tasting too. Beans were very, very bland. Hush puppies were slightly below average tasting. Salad bar was clean and fresh. Price would have been right had the main star (fish) been sized fairly. There were only five tables of customers and three wait staff working like it was a Sunday after church. They complained excessively and I could have made a day time tv show out of all the drama. Having been a customer a time or two before, I can see why business may be dwindling down. Maybe a little more management or some training can reverse things. Overall, two stars is all we can tell you at this point in time. read more
