I'm not a typical person to leave a review. But I'm not going to say many bad things. The food was decent enough, we had 4 New York strips, all were ordered as medium rare. We received well done. The steaks were still decent, rest of the food was pretty good. The employees are very friendly. The main problem we had was that the place wasn't very busy, and we had a table of 4, we waited an hour for our food, and 30 minutes for the fried pickles appetizer. Not to mention I had to take everyone's drinks up to the front, 4 different times because no one offered a refill in the 1.5 hours we were there. Then had to go up to the front, and tell the cashier what we had after waiting 15 minutes to get a check, that we never received. If you want a good steak and good service for a large table, I don't recommend oaks. I don't like it when I have to take my drink to the front and get my own refill multiple times. read more

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend so we gave it a try for lunch and were very happy we did. The decor and atmosphere are very nice. Daily specials were posted on a chalk board at the entrance. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us a complete rundown on the specials. I tried the "Indian Taco" special and my wife had a Ham and Cheese sandwich with a side salad. The fried bread on my taco was light and fluffy and the meat, cheese and topping were very tasty. We are from out of town and decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were also celebrated the newly engaged couple. We dressed up and went for what we expected to be a fancy dinner, considering the costs. We were seated at a table under 2 vents that were dripping condensation on us. We mentioned it to the waitress and she laughed it off and said they were aware. We again told her it was dripping on the baby and my daughter's head. She again did not really care. Rather than moving us, they left us there when there were plenty of open tables. After a while the waitress asked us if we needed anything else and I stated that we needed an umbrella. She laughed and then said something under her breath as she walked away. I mentioned all of this as we were paying and the cashier was also aware and said, maybe we should move that table over. I told her it would hit the table no matter where they moved it. I would not recommend the place considering dinner was $108.00 and it came with vent condensation dripping in the food and on us. read more

While in the area for work this place was highly recommended. They had a salad bar that was included in some of the lunch specials. I opted for the loaded baked potato and enchilada soup. It sounds like an odd combo but it was so good. The soup came with homemade tortilla chips. One of my coworkers got the grilled chicken and salad bar and said it was really good. Another coworker got grilled chicken and broccoli and the broccoli was cooked perfectly! The server was so nice and made sure we were taken care of. The inside was decorated and super clean. While on a fishing trip in Beaver's Bend. We stopped in the Oaks for dinner and then the next day for lunch. The food is great atmosphere is lively and friendly. The server is very attentive. I had a 14 ounce ribeye which was cooked the way I like it. I ordered fried mushrooms for the table as an appetizer. They were delicious. The salad bar was nice. The next visit I had the lunch special ,open face roast beef sandwich ;mashed potatoes brown gravy, and salad was great. i'll definitely stop by again on the next trip. read more

Cute on the outside. Ok that's the end of anything good. Sorry. "Loaded" baked potato consisted of a cold small potato with about four shreds of cheese and hard fake bacon bits. The steak burger came with okra and salad , but if you don't want with of those they offer no replacements. So we ordered the fish plate. Fish was average , beans were cold and straight out of a can. No seasoning, nothing to make it their own. Just bland slop. We gave up and agree to never come back as this was second attempt thinking first was a fluke bad experience. If you grew up with a Grandma who could cook but also had the plastic protective cover on the sofa you'll feel right at home at The Oaks. This is actually our second time to visit The Oaks; we enjoy vacationing in this area. The Oaks is just a small roadside dinner that features steaks, burgers, seafood and sandwiches of all varieties. Even though it's been 3-4 years since our last visit, we knew we were in for a treat when we pulled in and found two Oklahoma Highway Patrol police cars in the parking lot. (Foodie tip: if the police eat there it's usually good food.) After perusing the menu the wife and I both settled on the open faced hot roast beef sandwich. The plate came with an option of fries or mashed potatoes and a side salad. We both picked the mashed potatoes and ranch dressing on the salad. A short time later our drinks arrived; we had both ordered sodas. Surprisingly the sodas were served in super large cups. The sodas were strong and great tasting. When the food came out we were impressed. The open faced sandwich was great with tender roast beef piled high on perfectly toasted bread and topped with brown gravy. Now let me stop here and comment on something that really brought this meal home - the mashed potatoes. Very common at most restaurants is what I call "the mound" of potatoes with a landslide of gravy that contaminates everything on the plate. But at The Oaks the mashed potatoes were served "bird nest" style with a well contained pool of brown gravy. As much as I enjoyed the separation of the gravy on the potatoes, I was not happy to have the side salad served on the plate with everything else. Ranch dressing, brown gravy, mashed potatoes all running together - it was almost disastrous. Overall, we love this place. It's on regular rotation when we are in the area. Good, fresh home cooked meals that have a great price point. Service is friendly and efficient. Sad note that we didn't notice until we were pulling out - there is a "for sale" sign out front. We hope this isn't our last visit to The Oaks. read more

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful in helping us narrow down what we wanted to eat. The food was very tasty, I had the chargrilled chicken alfredo and that chicken was chargrilled to perfection! The pasta was delicious and perfectly creamy. The Chicken Enchilada soup was very rich for me but tasty as well. The chocolate cake was to die for and I would've bought an entire cake to go!! Or to stay, whichever! Me and the family came here for dinner as we were passing through on a Friday evening. It had a decent crowd, but not too busy. Staff was very friendly and went the extra mile by helping me and my wife put our baby's car seat in a high chair. I ordered a NY strip, medium-rare with a loaded baked potato. It also come with a trip to the salad bar. The steak was cooked just right, however, there was no seasoning on it. It was just plain meat. It was priced about $26, so I wasn't happy that it had no seasoning. The backed potato was nothing special. They used the fake, dried up bacon bits, so that was disappointing as well. The salad bar looked kind of weak at first glance, but after getting some items, I found there to be a good selection. Also, the baked potato salad was amazing! I'm not saying I'd never go back, but for them to call themselves a steak house, I was disappointed in their steak and would not recommend spending your money on that. There's not much to say here, which is a good thing. Every single little bit of food my mother and I had was made to perfection and our server Betty was incredible. This was homemade food that had barely any salt and pepper in it, if at all. If you want more, there's a reason salt and pepper shakers exist. If I could leave a zero star review I would. I arrived with a large party of 18 people and we were split into two groups (group 1 and 2). Group 2 was seated and had their drinks in the table within ten minutes. Group 1 (my group) didn't have the drink orders taken until 20 minutes after we sat down. About 30 minutes after that a waitress ( we were never sure who are waitress was because their was about 4 or 5 that came over to our table) came over and took our appetizer order. After another 20 minutes we finally received the appetizers but by then group 2 had received and finished their orders and left. Another 20 minutes or so after that group 1 finally report orders. The food we received was bland, burnt, and flavorless. All of the rolls we ordered were burnt, several people received burnt asparagus, the steaks we received were unseasoned and looked like they may have been boiled instead of grilled. The chicken fried steak my friend ordered was tough and flavorless. The dining experience was terrible and I suspect from all the broken windows I saw as we left that my party was not the first to have a terrible time at Oaks Steakhouse. Overall felt pretty meh about the place. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. Came in with a party of 6 around 5 on a Wednesday and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The waitress was sweet and we could tell she was working hard. I had the catfish basket. The rest of the crowd had the rib-eye, shrimp, and some open face beef thing. Overall we all just thought the food was ok. Every meal came with a salad or a salad bar option. There isn't really a gift shop it's just a couple suckers on the counter for sale. This food was delicious. I had the Texas toothpicks with ranch and they were amazing. My main meal was the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Even the starter salad was yummy. We arrived early to beat the Valentines Day crowd and we actually did a good job, it was starting to fill up when we were leaving. The staff was also very nice and offered to go tea. The reasoning for the two stars is simple. The only two good things about this place was the salad bar, and the extremely wonderful waitress. Everything else that was served was frozen, over cooked, and insanely over priced. The lady at the desk had an attitude when I brought it up so I just paid and we left. I had a seafood combo with three over fried shrimp that were barely edible, three fried oysters that after first bite I knew the oysters were no longer good, and I substituted chicken strips for the catfish. The chicken strips were large pressed chicken nuggets... they were terrible. My husband had the shrimp alfredo. The pasta was pastey and over cooked and the alfredo was straight from a jar. It appears everything in here is battered and fried. Most of my table didn't finish their lunch. I ordered a catfish basket asking for extra hush puppies instead of fries. Instead I received their lunch special that the waitress tried to push me into. The lunch special consisted of three pieces of catfish, four hush puppies, and a small bowl of pinto beans. The hush puppies were good, the catfish was over fried and rubbery, the beans did not pass the eye test. On a related note during our COVID-19 period: the place did not appear to be fully committed to taking full precautions to prevent COVID-19 spread. They did: provide hand sanitizer as you walked into the building, and provided socially distanced seating while convienent. They did NOT: require patrons to be masked, their employees were also not masked, and right before we left they placed a party two feet behind me. This was the worst steak I have ever eaten. I ordered the New Your strip because the filet was only 6 oz. It was 70% fat. Pan fried- tasting like grease. Steak fries were limp! Horrible!!!! I asked the waitress if the steak usually had that much fat- she said "you ordered the New York Strip Sir", as if it's okay if it's the NY Strip. She did not care that I was unhappy with my food. The Manager responded and asked if it was perhaps another Oaks Steakhouse? In Broken Bow? They said the bread on the plate was not there roll. Okay Manager- The bread is left from me eating the dried pastrami from my wife's "Rueben" that she couldn't eat. One bite of the single row of meat- and I regretted that as well. Manager- teach your waitresses to recognize a guest that is not happy and make it mandatory that they get you. All- go elsewhere! This was horrible. read more
