It's been in our neighborhood and although I'm not Catholic, I found the structure and discipline of the school to be very well suited for our boys and family. It's our first year at CCS & our daughter loves it here. One of the reasons why we chose this place was for their small class sizes because it allows for more one-on-one attention if needed. They have art, music, and a computer lab. After-school activities like skateboarding and STEM programs. It's also unsurprising that a school with so many wins in the Academic Decathlons has become a bit of a feeder school to some of the most prestigious high schools in the Greater Los Angeles Area. My husband and I are very pleased with our decision to send our daughter to CCS. For years, we use to pass this school heading to another private school to drop off our son. When the time came for our daughter to begin kinder, we knew the private school our son had attended was not an option. So after looking at other private schools, we chose CCS and have not regretted tHe decision since. The school has a strong academic curriculum. The average standardized test scores for the 2015-16 8th grade class in Math & English was at the college level. In addition, CCS offers music, Spanish, Art and computers to each student starting with kinder. The school also has a competitive sports program--volleyball, football, basketball and track and field--ran by teachers and parents. Our oldest daughter graduated from this school many years ago and now our young children attend this school. The school has been accommodating to our children's individual needs, the teachers are approachable and willing to work with us, the entire school community works as a whole to provide a safe, fun and enriching program for the children. The principal is on top of things - she runs the school in a professional and caring manner. The parents that we have met are friendly and not showy. (We have many friends in our community with children attending other schools and one of their main complaints is their school's academic program and the parents' pressure to outdo one another. Really this is a big thing!) At Cathedral Chapel School we have not experienced any condescending behavior from any of the teachers or parents in this school.
