Berry's warmth, kindness, and professionalism made all the difference. He worked incredibly efficient, preparing all the necessary paperwork in a very short time. When we had to add an additional service midway through the process--requiring all the paperwork to be redone--Berry handled it with patience and care. Despite the tight timeline, he worked tirelessly to secure a viewing schedule for us within just two days. We are deeply grateful for Berry and his team's dedication, hard work, and compassion. Their support made an overwhelming process so much easier, giving us one less thing to worry about during this difficult time. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Berry and his entire team. Thank you for everything.

We went through so much pain for a year and we wanted to ended up this process peacefully. Thankfully, I have talked to Maria G Aguilar so she could be in charge of this process. From the first call I gave her- She was clear about the steps I needed it to follow.. She explained me about the cost and the way they were going to take care of the situation. The Day, I met with Maria G Aguilar showed me the packages available and spent time going through all the details about the Funeral. She was very attentive, compassionate, and best of all She listened to me, ( in these moments, You need someone to listen to your feelings, struggles, etc) My Father who was married with my Mother for almost 50 years was extremely sad and Maria G. Aguilar was there to comfort him and to help us to give my Mother her last day as she deserved. The Day of the Funeral was extremely well organized, and as soon as I got there Miss Maria G Aguilar asked me to be my companion and stayed with me until I felt a bit better.( She stood next to me while I stared at my mother and She handed me tissues) To Maria Aguilar and the Funeral team: Thanks so much for helping us going trough this painful moment- We had a peaceful,Dignity Funeral for My Mother. During the worst chapter of my family's life, she exemplified grace, dignity and excellence as we navigated all the steps of cremation, burial, service and paperwork, etc. Candy, the headstone coordinator, was also professional, kind, very sensitive, helpful and patient. Both were incredibly compassionate and professional at each point of contact. The service went very smoothly, and the funeral home's list of florists and ministers proved helpful. The ladies were available, supportive and communicative at each step of the process. They always asked about my Mom and displayed the kind of humanity you hope for during a very hard time. The groundspeople were also very kind and helpful. I appreciate how the grounds are open almost every single day and that people from all walks of life are buried and interred here. The atmosphere is tidy, quiet and respectful. We take comfort knowing our family members rest together in eternity at this lovely memorial park.

Being part of a large, multi-generational family, I have unfortunately found myself attending services there at least once a year for much of my life. As an adult, I've had the responsibility of taking a more hands-on role in funeral planning, and I'd like to share three experiences. The first was for my uncle--while not related by blood, he was absolutely family. There was significant family drama leading up to the service, including a grandchild sending threatening messages. When the staff became aware of the situation, they handled it with professionalism and care, arranging for support to be on standby if needed. Thankfully, it wasn't necessary, but Paul was fully prepared to take care of it. The second experience was a little over a year ago, when I was making arrangements for my own mother. Paul, the owner, sat with me through the process. He and his staff were incredibly professional and compassionate. Paul made sure I understood all my options and gently reminded me to take my time--he made it clear he was there for me, without rushing me at all. The third experience was about two months ago, when I was there in my professional capacity as a minister. I was asked to support a husband making arrangements for his wife. I watched as a man, in deep grief, struggled to process what was being said. For the first time, I wasn't the family member making decisions--I was observing. The staff at Chapel of the Highlands handled everything with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. Walking through these difficult moments is never easy, but it brings comfort knowing that Paul leads a team that is caring, hardworking, and professional. While I wish I never had to return under such circumstances, I know I will continue to trust and recommend their services to anyone going through such a difficult time.

Yesterday, I had a terrible experience at Chapel of the Highlands in Millbrae. I arrived around…read morethree in the afternoon to visit my mother, who was to be buried the following day (today). Nick H and an unidentified female office clerk were unfriendly, unprofessional, and disrespectful. The facility was messy and unorganized, and the employees appeared unkempt. When I finally got to see my mother, I was horrified to see how she looked. Her face was not my mom. Her clothing was completely different from what she would normally wear. There was a scarf around her neck that seemed to be hiding something. I was so upset by the time they finished arguing that I couldn't see my mother. I felt like I couldn't properly say goodbye to her. It turned out that my siblings had an unannounced visit planned with my mother that they didn't want me to attend. The office girl apologized several times to me, for making a "terrible mistake" by telling me about the 5 p.m. viewing. But it wasn't the mistake of telling me about the viewing; it was the mistake of not letting me see my mother when I arrived and then making me stay in the lobby, telling me I couldn't see her. I would never, never, ever recommend this place, and I believe both Nick H and the office clerk should be fired immediately. **************************************************** Thank you for your response, Paul Larson. I understand that you may not agree with my review, but I encourage you to focus on the actions of your staff. I arrived at 3:00 PM and was informed that the viewing would be at 5:00 PM, which I accepted. However, when I returned at the scheduled time, I was denied the opportunity to see my mother and was asked to leave. This was extremely distressing. I made it clear that I would have contacted the police if I had not been allowed to see her. Nick H. asked me to state that I would not call the police, but I want to be clear--I would have done so if necessary. This situation was unacceptable. She is my mother, and I have every right to see her. I also find it inappropriate that your response focused on criticizing me and referencing my family rather than addressing the issue at hand. Please stop talking about my family--you have no right to do so. You don't understand our dynamics, and it's not your place to comment. Your attempts to address the situation were unhelpful and based on inaccurate assumptions about me. I stand by 1 Star.

I was looking at mortuaries, alone with an unfamiliar duty in an unfamiliar location. I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. The gentleman who arrived to take my husband helped the nurse prepare him so when he came out of the room he was draped in the American flag. With everything else my husband and I went through with the change in care facilities, finances, and just 'handling it all' as my husband's condition worsened over the years, David's honesty and compassion took this step off my shoulders. I have purchased Honor Cremation for myself, so our children have the confidence to know everything will be taken care of. Thank you David and Honor Cremations.
