This was the absolute best animal shelter around here. The manager devoted her whole life to helping animals. She loved each and every one of them. She took on a lot of cases other shelters would not and rescued ones that places like the SPCA would immediately euthanize. I have seen that place firsthand. I used to be a volunteer here, they are not government supported if I remember correctly. Mostly volunteers are there, or if you adopt a cat, they use that money to get food or cover any vet bills. It's a small place, but honestly all the cats there are soo soo sweet, more older cats, but they do have kittens as well, I honestly loved this place, and hopefully I can go back during my summer break to continue my volunteering These are older pictures from back when I was there, but I really do love all the cats there, they were really sweet, and I'd always wish to bring them home with me. read more

My girlfriend and I want to get a cat and most likely 2nd one so it will have a companion while we're at work. They never even called us back. After trying to set up a meet and after we visited; saying we wanted 2 of their cats. All we got was an email and their schedule timing is terrible for working people. Don't understand why, they didn't say to the other person today that someone else had interest on the one, like they did to us? We thought we were the first in line. DO NOT ADOPT FROM THIS SHELTER!!!! This shelter is a RED FLAG They are highly UNETHICAL and DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CATS NOR THE PEOPLE ADOPTING THE CATS. I came in on December 7th and chose out a grey kitten. Before I left I signed 2 pages of papers with my signature, address and phone number. I asked that they update me on new kitten arrivals but until then, I am adopting the grey kitten. They told me the kitten would be ready to be picked up on the 23rd. I asked if I could pick him up after Christmas on the 27th. They said no problem and I left. I texted them every once in a while to check on my grey kitten and they never once communicated a problem. In fact, as you can see in the screenshot- they were reassuring and supporting my adoption. The 27th comes and my plan was to pick the kitten up then go to NY with him. In the screenshot it shows that I checked in on the 23rd to see if the kitten was good to be picked up in a few days. I was replied with "absolutely you can pick your baby up on the 27th". I arrived there on the 27th to the shelter CLOSED. I was there for a while before a lady approached me and tried to solve the problem. I waited there for 2-3 hours while she sorted out the problem. After the 2-3 hours, I suddenly got a text message saying that my kitten has already been adopted. They argued that I didn't sign the papers for a specific kitten but they agreed and told me through text that I could pick up "my kitten" on the 27th. Both my friends witnessed me sign the papers and I had already purchased custom items for him. This shelter is UNETHICAL and CANNOT be trusted. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM. read more

Don't know how this place got a 5 star review. I guess if you pay that money. I took in a pregnant cat who gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens. I cannot keep them as I have 6 cats of my own. I called this place and made a detailed message that got no reply. Their website says you can also text them which I did. Their reply was "can you make a donation." No concern for cats welfare at all. Never heard back from them again. By the way I had planned on making a considerable donation because I cared about these cats and do not want to see them on the street. Guess I'll have to find some place else that cares about cats. I brought a cat that I found to Bridge and they were full and couldn't take this cat in. However, they did all the medical paperwork for me for free and gave all the vaccines. they also suggested some places for us to go that would take the cat. I have no idea how this place has 5 stars. The place was filthy. My daughter and I were standing in dirty mop water in a small office overcrowded with volunteers. They would not take us to the back room where they stored most of the cats but when they opened the door I could see it was a mess. No one knew medical background on the cat we were interested in. Love what this place does! I have taken both of my cats here for shots and neutering. Margaret is very nice and you can tell that she really loves what she does and really cares for the cats that come in here, as do all of the people that work and volunteer here. I have had cats from a rescue about 20 years ago and it took six months and a whole lot of money to get them healthy. We thought we would try Cats Bridge because they advertise they treat them for all kinds of disease. The kitten looked healthy. It did not have a mother and was bottle fed. I always thought as long as they are handled by 6 weeks by humans they where not considered feral but now I am told otherwise. It beat the hell out of my other cat and gave it feas, giardia, and ring worm so I would not recommend taking a cat from there if you have other cats. My poor cat is suffering after months, not better yet and we are into this thing for over a grand, and could not keep the kitten. I thought now a days shelters would be different. My husband and I adopted our first kitty from Cats Bridge to Rescue on October 12, 2013. We changed her name from Tammy Fay to Sparkle, because she was a beautiful, well cared for kitten, about 10 months old. She livened up our two older cats and then we decided that she need a sister kitten who looked kind of like her, and a little younger. On August 30, 2014, we adopted Lacey (6 months old at the time), again from Cats Bridge to Rescue. They treated us very well through the process both times and also checked with us to see how the cats were doing. After we adopted Sparkle I was told that we could come as often as we want to visit the kittens and cats. It is so calming and relaxing to see the kittens and cats play. It is also wonderful to come pet them! I actually was looking at Lacey for around 2 months before we adopted her. We like adopting kitties over a 3 day weekend, so we can both get extra time to bond with them. The experience both times and all of the way through to date has been excellent. I like the place and people so much that I often give donations of office items, litter, cat food (the cats love Pates), and other assorted necessities for the Rescue. They have a very loving and devoted staff of volunteers. There are hundreds of cats and kittens to feed, clean and look after. However, after choosing our kitten and paying the $125 adoption fee (that did not include the neutering and additional shots they did a flea treatment and gave me some meds for what they called a fungus on his paw). On my way home I took this adorable kitty to my vet to be sure of his health. This poor thing, had highly contagious ring worm (we have two other cats), flea bites all over its body, ear mites, lung infection, and missing hair on face which has now scabbed over - we are hoping nothing else develops. Our vet gave him his remaining shots and he has been neutered. Just be prepared of the possible illnesses and additional cost of adopting a cat/kitten from Cats Bridge to Rescue. We feel as though we saved a kitten and hoping there will be no other issues. The rescue said we could return the kitten in a week if we wanted to, they did not say if we got a refund. We choose not to in fear of the kittens life. I see the overwhelming loving work of the volunteers, however all pets need love, just take your kitty to a Vet asap to assure good health. read more
