I usually schedule Betty-White with Kristen O, but I would have to call to Shedule for repeated groomer choice. Before appointment, Betty-White was good, no issues at All! Once my husband and I arrived to pick up Betty-White, the petsmart groomer reported that Betty-White had diarrhea twice in her kennel. We don't know why this happened. It NEVER happened with Kristen who Betty-White has had 3 past grooming visits. We drove home and as Betty-White got out the back of the truck camper, she cried out in pain, then she went to stretch back legs, cried out again, next, she attempted to have a bowel movement twice , NOTHING, followed by dragging her rearend across grass, She has never in her 3 years of life done that. We decided something is wrong, Betty-White is in great pain and took her the next day to a Vet clinic in Hattiesburg, MS. As I tried to get her up into back truck camper I then noticed she had did her business twice on the deck stack which I took a video of. I decided Betty-White was reluctant to get in the back of truck so I convinced her to get in the truck Cab with us for ride to Vet. She cried out as she attempted 3 times and I had to help her get in. After vet appointment, the vet stated blood in Betty-White's stool sample, But the Vet stated he wasn't sure what caused that. We went next to PetSmart spoke with (A) store manager who stated after she looked over grooming areas video feed, she stated nothing showed any Mistreatment by groomer. Hattiesburg, Mississippi PetSmart grooming/ store Refused to take any responsibility for the $579. Vet bill. We have been taking both our large dogs to petsmart for the last 3 years and no concerns prior to this.

Our dog Gus, who came ARF 13 years ago, passed recently and we were ready for another pup. We found a chihuahua mix??? thru their website. Today was the day for our introduction and time to decide if she was to be our forever puppy. Crystal, her foster Mom who volunteers at ARF, introduced us to little Tommie and the rest is history. We immediately decided to take her home We are thankful to ARF for their rescue and adoption services. Hopefully more folks will use their services and find their new best friend!

Two days later, i continued seeing messages that absolutely no one had completed a "pre-application" for the dog I wanted. Finally, she responded to my fb message and stated I had been turned down because I did not have a "fenced in yard". The contract states "you must have a fenced in yard OR agree to take the dog out on a leash". The coincidental thing is, I STILL have a dog that I adopted from THE SAME AGENCY 12 years prior! I have heard very bad things about this lady. My recommendation: go to the Lauderdale County animal shelter. They are MUCH easier to work with.

Yesterday, a small Rat Terrier wandered onto our property looking as though it had been lost for…read moresome time and had not been properly cared for. Although we have two dogs of our own and a new baby at home, we took the dog in, fed it, bathed it, and kept it safe inside overnight while trying to locate its owners. Unfortunately, the situation became very stressful for our household. Our smaller dog was extremely anxious, and our 62-pound rescue dog was also stressed and beginning to show signs of aggression toward the unfamiliar dog. After 24 hours of caring for the stray and being unable to locate its owners, I brought the dog to the Humane Society, hoping they could take over its care and help reunite it with its family or find a safe outcome. What disappointed me was not the mission of the Humane Society, but the way I was treated during the intake process. Rather than feeling supported after doing my best to help a lost animal, I felt pressured and judged for not being able to continue fostering the dog. The gentleman assisting me seemed frustrated with my situation, even as I explained the challenges we were facing with our own pets and the fact that we have a baby in the home. My family has supported the Humane Society over the years through donations and advocacy, which made this experience especially disheartening. I understand shelters are often overwhelmed and resources can be limited, but a little compassion and appreciation for community members who step up to help lost animals would go a long way. We did everything we could to care for this dog for the time it was with us, and I left feeling unappreciated for those efforts. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I still believe in the importance of the Humane Society's work. I simply wish the interaction had reflected the same compassion toward people that they strive to show animals.
