My large family group on vacation booked a one-hour jet ski rental with Causeway Watersports and had a terrific experience! The jet skis themselves were really nice, new, and powerful. The training session provided by John (I hope I caught his name correctly) was perfect for the whole group, which was a mix of newbies and folks who had ridden before. It was thorough and made sure that we understood how to have fun safely. I felt great in that John had additional staff out on the water watching over us, assisting as needed. Shouldn't even get a star at this point, we traveled from New Jersey a party of 5 to enjoy our time to parasail and right when we arrived at the location we get a call stating the parasailing is canceled. Of course we are upset about that, so they offered a refund to jetski so we said why not let's jetski. We were going to get a refund of some of the money we used for parasailing, but right before going out, we had checked the credit card used and we were charged that money. There was no refund, no compensation and no explanation or apology given. read more

The jetski tour is awesome. Hands down the best thing we did this trip. Our guide Kam was great. He really tailored our tour to our skill level. We saw Bodi island lighthouse , Beautiful wetlands , and dolphins. All seated on a jetski , well maybe not always seated , as we caught some air on some wakes. We LOVED parasailing with these gents! They were funny but obviously knowledgeable. Made me feel at ease. My brother in law has a prosthetic leg and they did everything they could to make him comfortable. If your going on the jet skis be prepared to rigorously time your participants. Someone from Viator, as well as 3 people physically standing on the beach at Causeway told my mother there would be someone to break up the group at 30 minutes to allow for 6 people to get some driving time. Unfortunately that's completely bs, they didn't time anyone at all, (let the first group ride for 45 min and the 2nd only got 15) and then blamed my mother for not talking to the right person (how can 3 of your employees completely miss that important piece of information?) and used a litany of excuses including telling her her watch was wrong (it's an Apple Watch??) all through a very passive aggressive manager/owner that stunk like a pack of Marlboros. His solution? Come back and spend more money on Friday and maybe we'll give you an extra 15 minutes. Shameful, what a way to treat paying customers. Try the place across the street instead, save yourself the headache. ~ the guy that sat on your beach for 45 minutes. read more

Prices are reasonable and staff is nice. Machines seem well maintained and work great. I probably wouldn't recommend the jetski tour. Unfortunately we got stuck behind some slower folks and the instructor just went ahead with some teenage boys and did donuts while we slowly caught up. Would recommend they check in with folks before heading out (and at stopping points during the ride) and see how comfortable folks feel with their position in the line based on their speed. Also, I'd recommend adding a bit of information throughout when we stop - we saw some cool things but didn't know what any of it was or where we were. I would go back for other rentals, though. read more

Our family rented the 16 passenger pantoon boat! It was beautiful and looked like new! Captain John was awesome with his instructions and got us all set for the sound! We had so much fun!! And we saw alot of dolphins too! We will be back again next year! read more

The jet skis themselves were in really nice conditions. We also saw an otter and a flying fish which was nice. I left my sunglasses in one of the jet skis and the personnel who had dried off went in the water to get it. A nice experience for first time Jet-skiers. read more

We had a great time jet-skiing for 30 minutes on separate jets (for two people, it was about $110 and cheaper than others in the area). The jet-skiing area we were restricted to was large enough for two people to amply spread out and not be in each other's way. There were no other riders, so we had the whole space to ourselves. We were given adequate instruction on how to operate the jet ski, and for a beginner it didn't seem to difficult, and instructions were clear. They allowed us to take photos afterwards but it's not recommended to bring any valuables with you. They kept our car key in a guarded location, so we felt assured. They also have kayak rentals, but we didn't kayak. Recommended! read more

Jet skis and parasailing, indeed. I did both and loved both. I had the privilege of going on the boat and jet ski with John. He was extremely knowledgeable and exciting to be around. These experiences I had really made my trip to OBX and was really needed after a stressful couple of weeks prior. Pricing for parasailing and jet skiing vary on the amount of time you want to be out in the water or how high you want to go up on the parasail. Either way, both experiences are 100% worth the time spent and the money paid. You get ample time out on the water and they are good not to screw you out of your cash. When going parasailing, allot around 1 hour to an 1.5 hour to be out on the water and arrival. Make sure to arrive early to ensure you find the place. Parking can be a bit tricky if you do not pay attention to the signs and you're purchasing your tickets on one side of the bridge before heading to Mateo to go on the boat. Parasailing flights go up to 800 feet and you're up there 12-15 minutes. They accept solo and couples flights as long as the couple does not exceed a certain weight between the 2 of them. I can't remember the exact number though. I felt after talking to a couple of other parasailing places that this was going to be the best deal you could get, and my gut proved me right that coming to Causeway Watersports to be the right decision. read more

Our jet ski trip was amazing! There were 10 of us, we did the hour and 15 minute jet ski tour. Our entire experience was phenomenal. Our tour guide was great, they made sure we felt comfortable driving the jet skis and that we were prepared. Our tour guide took us near a light house, through the marsh, and we saw dolphins. Our family went with another last week on a much needed vacation and decided to rent kayaks and SUP's on the sound. We ended up at Causeway Watersports and were really glad we did! James and Steve O were enormously patient and helpful with us--especially our 11 year old--had a learning curve how to use a SUP. We knew a storm was rolling in and thought we had a bit more time on the water, but had to bail sooner than we thought. They were so gracious, they told us we could come back the next day and start again, and didn't charge us. We came back the next day and it was windier than the day before making the water harder to navigate using a SUP. Our daughter got tired very quickly and they allowed us to switch to a 2 person kayak. One of our party wasn't aware of the wind strength and ended up drifting all the way to the other side of the sound and was not able to get back. James brought her back in on his jet ski, towing the SUP behind him. Both men were incredibly kind and patient with our families. It made the adventure so much nicer than it could have been.
