We walked in here looking for a cowboy hat and walked up to the Hat Bar where we met Bailey! She was cleaning hats so diligently. She's an expert and gave us the basics of how to find the best fit! Cavender's Boot City is a great western store chain. The location that I visited is in Waco, Texas. We came for some holiday shopping on Black Friday and let me tell you that this store was hopping. The store was packed full of people which told me that I was in the right place. There is a great selection of almost everything. When you have the word boot in your name, you had better have a great selection, and they did. Clothing galore. If you can't find it, then they probably don't make it. The selection of hats, however, was pretty lackluster and out of my size in the higher end hats. The staff were amazing. They were all dressed professionally with the men all wearing blazers and all willing and ready to help. Unfortunately, I didn't find what I needed but look forward to coming back on my next visit to Waco. read more

Contrary to several recent reviews, the customer service was outstanding. While this review is written during the Christmas holiday season, it was a Monday afternoon. About every 2 to 3 minutes, a staff member would walk by and check on me asking if I needed anything, if I had any questions, and along those lines. the checkout lines were long at times, and they probably could've opened another register or two, but there was no lack of customer service. There's a pretty big selection, the boot section is the most well organized, the rest of the store is a bit of a mess. Shirts are the shirts, jeans are with jeans, but if you're looking for specific style or size, they're all mixed in. The big and tall rack was not exclusively, big and tall, and actually, there was a sprinkling throughout the store of big and tall items. Most of the items that we got were on sale, Accessories for a reasonable price. If I'm in town or another location where they have a store, I'll definitely pop in and see what I can pick up as this was a positive experience. read more

While in Texas my white wanted some real cowboy boots. We can hear based on a few recommendations. It was a little hard to find someone to help us, but when we did they did a great job. According to my wife, the Bucci got her an excellent deal. Half the price she would pay in New York or Connecticut. Store is huge and plenty of parking outside. I love my local Cavenders because not only the staff is friendly, they take care of me. my birthday is coming up in two weeks and I needed a outfit. I do not have the best fashion taste so I asked Riley for some help on getting an outfit together. She was super sweet and she was honest. Luckily we end up finding something for me and now I am ready for my birthday to be here because I am excited to wear my outfit. read more

Went in store, not many customers. Helped my self to hats. No asked if i needed help, i thought maybe they are to busy. But didnt give it much thought. Went to pay and the lady at register didnt have a good attitude. Payed for the Hat. She didnt know the right answer to a shipping question but still answered very sure about not being able to ship the item. Then a gentleman helped out answering very politely and answering correctly. After paying for the hat i wanted to purchase some sunglasses, not cheap either. Glasses did not have price tag so ofcourse you have to ask them and again lady was not polite about it. After waiting and waiting i decided to just walk out. So sad that the stores need the business but employees lack proffecionalism while helping customers. Been shopping at the Waco store for decades. This new location is so disappointing. Great selection. Not under staffed but nobody cares staffed. Unless you are in a boot isle of course. Then you are accosted by employees wanting to sell you boots. Looking for jeans that would actually fit my daughter. After 30 minutes, trying on seven different pairs, Finally saw someone at counter checking out a customer, I waited, then asked if they could send a staff member to help guide us. Out of all the female staff members we saw, they sent a young man over. "I am not really sure where to guide you but I would recommend starting with miss me jeans then work from the right side of the wall to the left.", then he walked off. One hour & Forty minutes later, after watching employees disappear to the back, then a customer walk to checkout, an employee would re-appear from the back, ring them out, then go back with the others in the back. We went to checkout, $260 worth of jeans, three pairs. We stand patiently, Five minutes later customer service appears and we are asked who helped us so they can get the commission properly appointed. "No one helped us", I respond. Then our bag is handed to us without even a thank you. I understand that some employees have a bad day. I do not understand all employees having a bad day. I mean what are the odds of all nine or ten employees, having a bad day? Plus this is honestly the third time being treated like this, here at this location in four months. If there prices were equal to Walmart then I might look over being treated like less than human while shopping. I may not even expect a thank you or please come back and see us again. This is also how they treated every other person as I watched and listened as they checked out. Otherwise I would have felt like they just did not care, about us. No one ever approached us and asked us if we needed help except the one time I walked back to the restroom. An only then because, as I walked through the boot section This place used to care. This place used to help. It was full service so the extra money spent was worth it. I might give them one more chance, just to see if this review helps them get staff back on track. False advertising .Every time I come to the store and shop the sale rack they do a "bait and switch". When I go to check out the item "wasn't supposed to be on that sale rack." I have taken up multiple sizes of the SAME shirt that is "on sale" and yet somehow they are ALL on the"wrong" rack. Just happened to me again this morning .All 3 shirts I went to purchase were supposedly on the wrong rack .I realize that items can get moved but they should have some way to distinguish sale items from "misplaced" items . They are not "misplaced".Just false advertising.Period. read more

Bought some boots and wear a little tights but the store guy said I could break them in, but it takes about a year to do it or.......leave then over night and they'll stretch them out for me, he'll yeah. Picked them up the next day and they were perfect. Thank you. read more

Super kind staff, helped me find great boots in my size! Store smells like amazing leather and has a huge selection of just about everything they offer if you're looking for western wear this is your one stop shop. I sadly got home with one of my pair of boots having two different sizes between the feet not sure how I missed it and the cashier but when I got to Dallas and called to let them know they found another store up here for me to go switch them at on our way to the airport if we don't have time they said I could mail them back to them from home in UT and they'd order and new pair and send them out. I appreciate their help with getting it straightened out and I'll update when it's resolved in the next couple days. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would !! Will not be stopping at this location ever again. Take your money to BOOT BARN they actually care about you and help you find just what you need. From the start no one greeted us we walked around looked at a couple of shirts still NO help. We picked up a few stuff and we are still looking around by this time I thought they would actually offer some kind of help since we were serious buyers and had stuff with us or at least when we were looking at the boot aisle but still no help at all. One older lady was on the same boot aisle we were in and not once did she offer us help she just looked at us and carried on helping someone else. We didn't even get a "will be with you shortly" or anything. Point is a lot of staff but zero help. The girl in the front asked if anyone helped I said "no not once did anyone offer us help" and she just put the cherry on top to a whole bad service with her moody self. read more

First time at Cavender's. Wow! What a selection! Even tons of boots for kids! My husband has a hard time finding pants that fit and was shocked by how many pants to choose from. We're traveling through from out of town and might make another stop in the morning before we hit the road. read more

However, when I was ready to checkout, two ladies at the register decided to sit and chat as I waited on the one girl that was actually doing her job, checking people out. Special ordered a pair of boots and was charged 8.99 delivery to home. They ended up at the store so we picked them up. While at the register noticed a sign that delivery was FREE. Manager said he would reverse the charge. When I went to pick them up they were on sale. I had to ask to get the sale price. Like it was a special case. Manager should have offered up front for my inconvenience. I mentioned that maybe all the cashiers didn't know about free shipping but he did nothing. I felt cheated. read more
