However, we were told that the Sweet Dreams room was still open. After looking at it and then another open room, Country Charm, we decided to stay in Country Charm since it had a bigger bed. The room itself actually consisted of two rooms, both with beds and then a bathroom en-suite. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice but overall the room was a bit chilly. There also was not a TV in any of the rooms and they did not have free wireless internet. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good. There was both cereal and oatmeal sitting out that you could take at your convenience and Laura our hostess was pouring us both coffee and orange juice. The first course of the meal was a fruit cup of sorts that had some blueberries and melon in it. It was decent but the main course was where this breakfast shined. We got a quiche of sorts that tasted wonderfully, especially with the salsa. The conversation with the many other guests at the breakfast table was pleasant as well. The bottom line for me is that I might or might not stay here if I come back in the future. Laura was incredibly nice, the breakfast was good and the cost was nice but I feel like we could have done better.

It was large and roomy with nice kitchen and living room areas. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious and different each morning. When we booked, we did it as a package and also got books, passes to several attractions/museums and tickets to 2 musicals. The location was perfect. We were able to get to most of the places we wanted to go quickly and easily. I would definitely recommend staying here again.

My room, on the first floor, had room control, but it also had a window facing a lawn area which could be left open. I really liked that because after a week of "hotel air" elsewhere, it was nice to open a window on a warm summer night in PEI for fresh air. You can get a view of the water from the back of the hotel, but you don't really have waterfront access. For that you'll have to go down Water St., along the harbor and boardwalk. There is a beach at Linkletter about 10 minutes away. This hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool, and a small exercise room with a nautilus and elliptical. The interior corridor is open for both floors, sort-of like a large enclosed porch, with plenty of comfortable chairs. Your room also has an interior window looking into this area, so be sure to close your curtains! They provide complimentary coffee and tea, but not a complimentary breakfast. There is a breakfast area where you can order various items at quite reasonable prices. They are also affiliated with a restaurant next door where you can have dinner. But there are some important things of which you should be aware before considering this hotel: - Many rooms have a walk-in shower instead of a tub - There is no elevator to get to the 2nd or 3rd floors - The hotel offers Wi-Fi, and you'll have no problem connecting to it with your PC or your iDevices. However, Android smartphone users will not be able to connect at all, and the hotel cannot provide any help on that.

We were starting to get tired out and decided to skip a venue in Maine and come to PEI instead. I found this cottage in booking.com for a low price. I was a little skeptical at first as I had never used booking.com and this seemed too good to be true. I booked our cottage for a Fri-Sun and as soon as we got there and saw the setup I asked if it was available for 3 more nights and it was! It was exactly what we needed. We have had fun touring to some of the costal sites and just sitting on the cottage deck staring at the huge North Atlantic Ocean. We even learned that there is an Atlantic time zone! Funny that when we first got here I walked down to the cliff to take pictures and picked up a wood tick on my way back to the cottage. Where I grew up we had nightly tick checks before going to bed at night. It brought back memories. I couldn't find these cottages in Yelp and didn't mean to name them cabins. If I can figure out how to change them I will to Cottages on PEI. Our host were easy to communicate with and the were a real pleasure to work with. We were hear toward the end of May and glad we brought warm clothes with as it did get cold, especially seeing the light towers. I did touch some of the water at one of our stops and it really did feel warm enough to swim I . We went to visit a beach 5 miles down the road but it was closed until June 1 as are a lot of attractions and restaurants. But there was enough open for our pleasure. Renting a cottage also enabled us to stop at a grocery store and purchase some eat in foods. Each cottage has a couple of chairs that sit out by the cliff, a picnic table, gas grill and chairs on the connected deck. We can see a light house off to our right and the fabulous Confederate bridge off to our left. We are 1700 miles away from home but are enjoying the great Canadian hospitality and scenic views.

The amenities, like access to laundry facilities and needed items helped make our stay in the cottage comfortable. We stayed in Cottage 2 with 3 rooms. The kitchen was great to have. And while there was a tv... we hardly watched! Overall, it suited our needs for a place to rest after lond day trips along the coasts around PEI. We also had an opportunity to have a camp fire inbetween the rain thanks to a young entrepreneur selling wood for $5. The evening low tide was amazing! We could walk out about 50 meters along the ocean floor and watch the gorgeous sunset! I would stay at these cottages again... as the location was great, the amenities were comfortable, the price was affordable. Awesome stay!

Once we were settled we inquired about dining options and he marked them on a map of the area. In the morning the manager, Rod, was able to help us narrow down some places we could visit during our stay in Charlottetown and on our last morning he suggested a route for us to take getting to Cape Breton. He even told us to call the hotel if we had any issues in finding our way there. Our room was located on the top floor, same side as the front of the hotel. It was a decently sized room with a desk, tv, armchair and closet. The bathroom was a decent size but the shower stall was quite small and the water took a long time to warm up. Our on last morning we let the manager know that we enjoyed our stay but that the mattress was way too soft for our liking and he let us know that he's heard the same comment from other guests and that the mattress is actually new. In our section of the hotel there were a few rooms with a (small) common kitchen, dining table and a sitting area. Within the whole hotel there were a few common sitting areas both indoor and outdoors. By the front entrance there were coffee and ice machines along with filtered water. Breakfast was served in two dining rooms. There was all the makings of a continental breakfast (toast, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal) and servers would come by periodically to take orders from their menu and remove plates. There was a selection of six items to choose from and most came with locally grown potatoes (omelette, scrambled eggs or tofu, eggs benedict, oatmeal, waffles). Portions aren't big but if it's not enough then it's easy to grab some toast or yogurt to go along with it.

The bathroom worked great, the shower pressure was wonderful and the whole facility was clean, quaint and just beautiful!
