To the contrary, North Rustico Harbour Inn looked immaculate and ideal for lodgings. The lodge is owned by a family consisting of a couple and two daughters. The day I checked I was greeted by one of the daughters who was beyond kind and who welcomed me wholeheartedly. The place itself is easy to find. It is just four miles of Cavendish in a serene fishing harbour community with plenty of local and homemade shops and restaurants surronding the area. Parking is free and convienient, you will park right near room. The rooms itself like I mentioned in the beginning was the opposite. Inside felt like a juxtapose of Canadian Wildlife Lodge and sleek sophistication of a fancy London loft. Whole place was clean and spotless. Toilets, sinks, and showers were very functionable. It seems to me the owners take immense pride in this lodge and it sure showed. Thank you all for being so dedicated to establishment and your to your guests.

Conveniently located 5-10 minutes away from the PEI ferry, the breathtaking view of the waterfront and trees captures your heart as you drive up to the inn. We loved our two bedroom suite, which, while cozy, gave you balcony access and perfect view of the cliffs and ocean as the sun rose behind it each morning. The common spaces in the inn was comfortable as well, and Robert was a great host - very welcoming and prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning, and spent time with us to help map out our day to some fantastic off-the-beaten path spots of PEI. Highly recommend this inn, and definitely look forward to coming back.

Upon check-in, I was given complimentary chocolate and water by the desk clerk (I'm also a Rewards Club member). The hotel looks very new, I'm guessing it was built over the last couple of years, plus it is conveniently located off of the highway. My room was very clean and very spacious, plus it had plenty of amenities. I decided to take a dip in the hotel's indoor pool, which also features a water slide. My only complaint about that the pool was too shallow in the area that people would enter the pool from sliding. Continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Do consider staying here if you're passing through this part of Nova Scotia and need a hotel room for a night.

The small pool in the basement was very popular with the kids, despite the fact we spent all day at the beach, and the little game room adjacent was fairly popular with them as well (although there were some parts that were a bit worn). Excellent staff, including front desk staff tolerant of my bad French and willing to let me try it out but perfectly conversant in English. We can't recommend the restaurant, which was pricey and not particularly interesting and a bit slow, but there's a cafe-bistro style place on the main level which had limited fare but at quite decent prices. Excellent breakfast in a side room on the main floor, included. All in all, well-recommended.
