Strongly recommended. Scheduling is easier and this doctor knows what he's doing…read more Also, Dr. Gould takes time to listen to my questions, This is a friendly, relaxed environment. I've gone to a convenient care center - they've misdiagnosed my foot problem a few times. Other Orthopedists in the area are already booked. If you're in Ithaca and you have a foot problem, see Dr. Gould at Cayuga Foot Care. He's competent and scheduling is easier.

I went to see the doctor who owns this business a few years ago to have a plantar's wart removed. He insisted that the doctor from home was doing the treatment in a stupid way and it would be much easier and faster to remove it surgically. Ok. Well I filled out a quick form and he took me into the office. He seemed like he was in a bit of a hurry. He injected some kind of numbing local anesthetic into my big toe and it felt painful and not especially numb. I told him this and he told me that didn't make sense, but added a bit more anesthetic. He then started cutting into my foot, at which point I cried out because my toe was not numb at all, and very sensitive because of the infection. He insisted that it was psychosomatic, and made me look away and cut in again, I still cried out, and he realized that it was actually painful and I wasn't faking. He then asked me if I had Raynauds Syndrome. I said I might? I never was told this by a doctor, but I'd read about it online and it sounded like me. He then got frustrated, said I clearly do have Raynaud's, and told me pretty aggressively that I should have told him that. He added even more anesthetic, completed the surgery, and I left really uncomfortable and upset. I ended up having to pay a big bill because my insurance didn't cover everything, the plantar's wart came back except there were 2 instead of just 1, and I still (years later) haven't regained all of the feeling in the part of my toe where he injected a lot of anesthetic. Pretty terrible experience with this doctor. Had he listened to me in the first place when I told him the anesthetic wasn't working, I could have avoided a painful and frustrating experience.
