Last minute change of plans had us stopping here for a night cap before heading home. It's a huge dive bar with a huge selection of drinks. I opted for a white claw and for seltzers they had 3 different brands with multiple flavors per brand. Wow! They also have food...we had already eaten so we didn't check out the menu. We lucked out with a round table by the front and had great service from our waitress. It's a popular place with the locals. It was definitely the place to be at midnight. read more

Having been a regular at CC between 2012-2018, it was disappointing to come back today after a few years away and be "greeted" with hostility by bearded deadbeat. I'm not even quite sure what he was trying to say, but I tried to order a drink at the bar and was aggressively interrogated about where I was intending to sit? Absolutely bizarre, and he got quite angry and inappropriately rude. It's 9pm on a Monday and I just wanted to visit my old haunt, but looking through these reviews and having had that experience, it seems to be a goner. Not even worth it for the nostalgia. read more

My local watering hole-- a dive bar in its truest form. Don't come in here expecting anything fancy, don't come in here with your wedding party and expect immediate service (it's not that kinda place). Usually the place is packed on the weekend nights, and it's for a good reason. They've got pool tables, a juke box, arcade games, booths, a patio you can smoke in, and most importantly: reasonably priced drinks. I like getting a beer & a bump (of whiskey) from time to time. Bar food is hit or miss: my recos are the chicken tenders, quesadilla, or loaded tator tots. They seem to love jalapeños in the kitchen; I cannot do spicy, so I ask for them on the side. Teddy, Mike, and Jason are great bartenders... I like watching how fast they work a high volume of orders. Kimmy the waitress is the sweetest, and I like Ryan and Drake at the door. Some of the staff has turned over due to COVID, but generally good people if you treat them right. Although Randy the mgr could stand to smile a little bit more, and be friendly once in a blue moon. I've never seen Lynn the owner. Regardless, I highly recommend the CC if you come in with the right mindset, and open to mingling with others. read more

Here's some small incidents of what I experienced: -Server whined about my card chip being broken, despite that he can swipe and tap. -Some dude who didn't work for the company was gatekeeping the back gate, telling people to "exit the front door like normal people" despite people exit through that gate daily; it's also not an emergency exit -A server lady yelled at everyone in the patio around 1:00 am (the bar closes at 2:00 am) to "Get the f**k out" into the restaurants. -I ordered a soda mixed with vodka and I barely taste any vodka, I think I was straight up drinking soda. -The cheese curds that I ordered were burnt. I get a dive bar the edginess is the experience, yet at least make it up for the food and make your drinks stronger. read more

CC Club is a stain on the neighborhood. I don't know who started hiring here or making decisions, but the people that work here are arrogant, sniveling, rude, gross and unkempt. I cherished this place while I was still in the cities after growing up here, and it used to be a gem. I recently walked in while visiting home with my fiancé, and we were greeted with a literally drooling bartender who proceeded to bark at us about etiquette because we wanted to sit at the bar (which had 2 people sitting at it total). No wonder it was a ghost town in there. Since then, I've learned from others about the discriminatory, manosphere, and unconfident incel policies it's employees propagate. I went @4p on a Sunday. Bathrooms were clean. Drinks were strong (I ordered a double shot w/ can of Red Bull & dirty Shirley). Food was fresh healthy serving sizes (stuffed tots & waffle fries served with ketchup and ranch and she brought us plates and napkins for sharing without us asking). Server Greta was absolutely horrible. Incredibly rude to my friends (who are also servers) then proceeded to question why she didn't get a big tip. Accidentally bumped into her, then after threatening me she went out of her way the rest of the night to TRY to get me to bump into her. Hello dive bar! It's dirty, old, and rugged. Stickers and odd pictures on the walls. They also have a few classic arcade games and two pool tables which are usually taken. The service is even divey. As in not the friendliest but who cares kind of attitude. I also mean this in a nice way and not in the bad way. That being said, it can be hard to get a drink when it's busy. And this place gets really busy, especially on the weekends. The patio out back is really cool so that's a plus, especially when it's nice out. There is a $10 minimum if using a card, so you might as well get two drinks right? Also use the bathrooms, they're tiny, cramped and have all the reading material you need on the stalls! read more

I'm disappointed by the staff, owner, whomever you are that cussed at my brother and was hostile on 3/17/21 late 10am. We googled "open bars in Minneapolis" to get a beer, celebrate St.Patricks day. Google has CC Club is hours set at 10am-10pm. So we drove to Uptown from Maple Grove. There was a random guy near the entrance who told us he didn't think the bar was open until 11am, and he walked away. We already drove out here, figured to check it they were indeed- closed. So we checked if the doors were open, if they would open when we pulled to be specific. The doors pulled open, both the outside door and inside door were open. Unfortunately my brother, because of my prompts asking him - yah know, sibling things- to check if they were closed or not- entered to see if there was anyone there . So he went inside, the doors were open, why not- their listed hours on google said they were open-but no one was tending the bar. Long story short, as he exits to tell me we should leave because it's weird no one is at the bar, we hear someone come to the doors from the inside and opens it the same time my brother is opening it, figuring to get a confirmation to enter or not and the guy says with no hesitation "what the f (word) are you opening the door for?" and continues to talk to my brother like he's a pest to humanity. If you were not open, why were your doors wide open (unlocked) for the public. Your hours were listed as open. And instead of being disrespectful, talk to us like human beings? I don't have answers for the world but I do know that from one person to another, who has given CC Club enough passes, after past questionable treatment- don't go here. I used to be more forgiving to the CC Club. If I'm being objective about it though, there are more reasons not to go to the CC Club than to go. And I should preface this with the fact that I am a dive bar person. Here's why you might go to the CC Club: your friends are all there already or you like the drink-of-the-month special. They discount one thing each month and I believe the specials run until 11 p.m., even on weekends. Sometimes it's good (pitchers of Crispin, which they don't have on tap anymore). Sometimes it's not that good (pitchers of Coors). They have plenty of bar games like a pool table, darts and a Family Guy pinball machine. I can dig that. The vibe of this dive is hipster to the millionth power. I don't really feel positively or negatively about that, but it is what it is. The patio can be a nice place to spend an evening if it's not too smoky. It usually is smoky. The kicker though: service is downright terrible nearly all the time. There's one bartender that is the saving grace, but almost everyone else is slow and/or salty. Cheer up, guys. read more

The back patio is a good bet in warm weather - but grab a table inside first or you'll be out of luck when you come back in. Check the walls for the monthly pitcher specials - always something tasty for $8 -10. I could spend minutes, and I usually do, trying to make sense of the massive lists of drink specials. But I can never keep them straight. As long as it's not late on a weekend, you can bet on getting a good deal if you ask for the special. If you aren't completely absorbed in your own group, look around you for entertainment. Folks are here often end the night at the CC Club, so things get raucous after midnight. A parade of furry men and pale ladies danced through in their underwear and bike helmets one time - on an underwear, bicycle pub crawl. Some people cracked a smile, but it was pretty much business as usual. Brunch here is notorious. Very cheap. Very greasy. Just know what you're getting into. Blood marys are important if you're in a state to make the decision to eat here. read more

The CC Club was the first bar I visited when I moved to Minneapolis nearly 5 years ago. As such, the CC Club holds a very special place in my heart... or I should say liver. This is a dive bar at its finest, er... grittiest. It's dark, dingy and a little dirty. Ladies, avoid skin contact with the seats if you're wearing short shorts. You never know what to expect from the jukebox. The same few bartenders have been here forever and pour stiff drinks... that seem to get stiffer as the evening goes on. The waffle fries are excellent for curing the drunken munchies. The pool tables are in the most inconvenient possible place but you navigate around people and pool cues to get your nicotine fix on the patio. Or just to enjoy drinking outside in warmer weather. Hold it, if you can but if you must pee, hover (lid up!); you have to anyways if you're 5' 7" like me because the stalls are so short you hit your knees against them. Enjoy the people watching; it's impossible to generalize the clientele the CC Club attracts because I've seen people from all walks of life here, not just hipsters and punk rockers. The service can be unpredictable; from inattentive waitresses to those who will buy you a round for being polite and entertaining. These are the charms and quirks of the CC Club and I wouldn't have it any other way. So cheers to you CC Club; you are truly deserving of my 100th review. read more

Ah, the CC Club, one of the few places that you can stroll in drunk at any point in the day and not have to worry about being the drunkest person in the place. They generally draw in the hipster crowd during the evenings, though there's a bit more diversity in the crowd during the mornings and afternoons. The CC Club is a low-key place to get in a couple of games of pool or darts during the evening while enjoying a reasonably priced pitcher or six (though during the weekend nights it can get pretty asses to elbows inside). The only time I'd really recommend showing up hungry is for breakfast, which is reasonably priced, surprisingly tasty and always generous with the portions. The rest of the menu is pretty standard pub fare and is pretty forgettable, but this really isn't a dining destination (save perhaps the aforementioned breakfast). read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I bought one drink and one basket of fries, my total came out to $17 and some change. I looked at my card transactions and I see that I was charged for $30.92. I called them to have them fix it and the man who answered the phone said "I can't help you with that, you'd have to call management or talk to the person who served you". I then asked how I could get in touch with "management" and the guy said "I don't know"....the man employed by the CC Club does not know how to get in touch with his managers? This bar is my hands down favorite, and I'll tell you why. What most of you fail to recognize is that the folks who work here are no nonsense, REAL people who do their jobs. They have always taken amazingly good care of me in the long time I have been drinking at the CC. You know why? Because I am not an entitled self-centered asshole who treats these people like PEOPLE when I am in their workplace. What makes this place amazing is that nothing is just handed to you in terms of interaction. Yes, they will serve you if you're not being a complete dick or wasted out of your mind, but they won't put up with rudeness or entitlement either. They have tossed out A-list celebrities for this reason. No one is special here, unless you consistently show that you aren't just some yuppie scum that wandered too far from Uptown who thinks they deserve all of their attention and adoration just because you're dressed nice and have a fat wallet. In fact, all of us regulars really wish you wouldn't set foot in there at all. You are rude, you sexually harass/assault us (which has always been swiftly taken care of by the staff), you start fights, you act like you own the damn place, etc. The CC will survive just fine without you and your judgmental attitudes (I have seen the other reviews saying that we look like we have just crawled from the gutter. What do you have against gutters anyways?). Moreover, they know me. They know what I drink, it's often on the bar before I even open my mouth. I am warmly greeted by name by every staff person when I am there. You can bet it wouldn't be like that if I acted like most of these other folks who wander in off Lyn-Lake. The fact of the matter is, this bar is home to so many of us who deeply appreciate it for exactly what it is. I SHOULD love this bar, it has everything I want in a bar. It is dirty (excellent!), it has a unique jukebox (super!), the decor invokes memories of a bar scene in some Steven Seagal movie (awesome!), and it even has the old table-top version of Ms. Pac-Man (far-out!). Alas, I've tried getting drunk here and having fun at the same time about a dozen times and I still don't understand the allure. I don't understand why I would go to a bar where my feet stick to the floor AND pay $4.00 for a Budweiser. I don't understand why I'd go to a bar to order a $4.00 Budweiser and get service akin to the medical support staff of Josef Mengele. I don't understand why I'd go to a bar with horrible service staff AND then deal with frat guys and sorority girls who are "slumming it" at a huge table with their fake handbags strewn about. The obligatory ID check catches you offguard at the door. You know... by the guy in the stool who is mildly distracted in conversation by a group of people who try to size you up, sitting in the booth. You meet your friends in the big red booth on the side. Order two pitchers of beer. Watch the people try to squeeze through unfriendly looking brutes between the two pool tables as they impatiently wait for them to pass. You sort of feel like a king of some kind. Going to the bathroom seems to be the highlight here. You have to make your way through both a crowd onlooking the pool tables, darts being thrown directly in your path, and the hipster at the jukebox. When your pitchers arrive are suddenly asked if you are paying cash. You say yes, and why? Who knows.. A mysterious analog telephone rings in the distance and is answered by an average-sized-might-be-a-pedophile-or-some-kind-of-mail-order-bride-orderer? Eitherway, he won't like it if you can't remember if they had that kind of vodka you usually get but they don't ever carry it, oops you always forget, make it rail. Your two glasses finish quickly, oddly, almost too quickly. Hmm. You go for a cigarette on the patio and take note of the no alcohol outside after 1 a.m. rule thing on the door. Alluvasudden you feel like everyone is looking at your till you turn around to see hockey on the tele right above your head. Maybe it was the beer that made you feel taller since you felt you had to drink it faster than the rest. Its pretty diverse out here. More than you thought it would. Maybe they're here for the game, who knows? The beer is gone again. And so are the pitchers. Your friends say they ordered more. You're distracted by a man whose only company is a beer and his imagination. He's brooding. Occasionally catching your glance. Finishing your two more glasses you pay the lady off.
