A very welcoming corner bar. They have a pinball machine as well as a pool table. The staff were very friendly and even did us a kind favor of charging one of our phones for us. The drinks were fair priced but delicious. read more

Ended up at the yacht club after a night out with some friends - was bummed to get there and they weren't doing any food anymore but was satisfied with some dill pickles chips among other options, they had for purchase. Staff were friendly, space was clean, we found a table to fit our group of 8 right away. Will return! Perfect in between a busy city bar and a small town bar! And very fairly priced. And close to home which always is nice! Will have to try their menu options out and report back! read more

A classic dive bar in NE Minne. Can't say much else other than that! I enjoy a good dive bar from time to time and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were also super nice and efficient. The bar itself was quaint and had that divey charm to it. Drinks came quick so no complaints there. Don't let the fancy name trip you up. This is a diiiiiive bar. It's a long, narrow barroom with an open "kitchen" (really just a griddle and fryer setup) over to the side of the bar. There's no cook. No servers. Just a couple of friendly bartenders slinging cheap drinks and, I sh-- you not, the best freaking burgers in Minneapolis. They also have chicken sandwiches and pizzas, and I'm sure they're delicious. But the perfectly seasoned, perfectly griddled smash burgers are really where it's at. The atmosphere is divey and friendly. Lots of regulars coming in and out, nice patio area, etc. Everything is very clean, but there are no frills. If you love places like that as much as I do, do yourself a favor and head to NEYC now. read more

This is your usual dive bar. Small, outdated, and beer posters on the walls. We came here to check out the pool table. It was a Thursday night around nine and there weren't too many people there so the table was open. I hate when you go into bars and get stared at like you don't belong there, but I didn't get this vibe in here. The bartender was very nice and the drinks cheap. Went there for drinks with friends. One of the bartenders served my ​two friends who are white, then proceeded to do all she could to ignore me to the point where other customers noticed. Another bartender who was actually busy ended up serving me. I won't be going back. Really disappointed to experience this type of behavior in NE Minneapolis. read more

If you want good but cheap drinks, food for those late night cravings, and a fun atmosphere, this is a great dive bar to go to. Located right across from Elsie's, it's been a stop for us for a few years now. Initially en route when we did a pub crawl starting at Elsie's and then down the road to 1029 for some lobster rolls, now this is a fun place to make a quick stop or for the night. Most recent visit was for a good friend's birthday. They have a juke box to put in song requests, pool table, and some tables along side sitting at the bar if you choose. It's a smaller bar, so it can get crowded on a busy night, but that says something too that it is almost always crowded. They have food too, best are the pizzas, so simple but so good and very cheap! Let's get one thing straight: the Yacht Club is a dive, and I mean that in the most endearing way. This is one of our favorite starting- and ending-points in Northeast, and here's why. The good: -There's a pool table (it's really crooked, so if you suddenly start winning games, don't let it go to your head just yet). -There's a jukebox, which sometimes means you can pick your soundtrack and sometimes means you're listening to something crazy. -There's beer. There are hardly any craft brews, but if you don't mind pretty standard bottles like Summit, Grain Belt, and Stella, you're in luck. -There's booze. They make pretty much any cocktail and have never given anyone attitude about what they're ordering. This is painful to admit, but one night someone in our group (it was NOT me. I swear. Really!) ordered a tequila sunrise. I wish I were kidding, but, alas, I'm not. The bartender just took the order and prepared the drink. He gets bonus points for that. The bad: -Everything in here smells like stale beer. That's just the way it's going to be. -If you like GOOD beer, you'll have to settle. You can do it! The ugly: -You'll probably see at least one fight while you're here, and it will most likely be started by an inebriated senior citizen. It's not that awesome but is always amongst "friends," so there's no need to worry you'll be the target. -Very few people at the Yacht Club are here to enjoy a drink or two with their friends. People are wasted. Always. You'll have to put up with some drunken slurs from fellow Yachters, but they're harmless. The Yacht Club is one of the few remaining bars in this part of Northeast that hasn't succumbed to hipster-induced gentrification. It's still the same as it was a decade ago, and that's worth at least something. It's cheap, it's fun if you let it be, and you always know what you're going to get when you walk in the door. You can relive Northeast's grittier days of yore at the Yacht Club, but you might be glad to get a breath of fresh air in between your games of pool. read more

This is obviously a NE staple, but last night was my first time there. A great local dive bar, but at the same time clean, simple and friendly. We were there for a birthday party and enjoyed Ed the bar tender serving us up all night. Ed was very friendly, and it was very obvious there is a steady local crowd. Sometimes this leaves the new patrons feeling left out, like they don't know the secret hand shake. But not here-- Ed was treating our group like regulars in no time. Love the $3 PBR Tall Boys. Didn't see the bar food menu (if there was one) but they do have frozen pizzas if you get a little hungry. Back room has juke box, pool table, Big Buck Hunter. Also sports a back patio for outdoor seating and smoking. Above the bar was a TV with live feeds of the four exterior security cameras. Before the party began I found myself watching my car in the back parking lot... Not so much to make sure it was safe, but like a voyeur spying on the world. And there was a spider on the lens of the camera making a web, so that was odd and cool as well. (Are we still talking about this bar?) Anyway, check it out. Good times. This used to be a favorite as it hasn't been ruined by hipsters. Mac was a favorite bartender and he still works there. However, don't bother going here until after the blue collar trash talking drunk regulars leave, safe to say they are back home with their wives around 7? Why haven't I been here before? A long, wooden bar spotted with really drunk guys, a friendly, aged bar tender, pool table in the common room, "patio" out back... I wish this bar was closer to my house. I was so entranced by the wooden bar to even care about anything else, but the drinks were cheap. They only take cash so I had to pull some more from the ATM.. .oh wait, I couldn't figure out how to get my card in the ATM so I walked across the street to Elsie's and figured out the exact same machine there. This bar is not meant to make you think on your feet. I think I will bring my dad here. read more

Stopped in here with another fellow yelper for a beer. The bartenders were very friendly. The bar patrons seemed older in age 40-60 age group. I didn't think my age group went out to bars. This place did not seem like a dive bar. The beers were on special due to the Gophers playing hockey on tv. Did not try food. Would I recommend? Yes. read more

The older I get, the more I value places like this. It's a bar. They have basics. A TV. Some seating. A pool table. A parking lot. That's it. No frills. No stage. No loud music. And because of that, the patrons match the venue. No flashy garbage, just honest people that want to have a drink and hang out. It really is getting harder to find a place on a Fri or Sat night that you can be comfortable in jeans & a t shirt to just have a "quiet" drink. This is one of those places. read more

The last time I was here, it was full of drunken cops. Besides that, a swell little establishment. High ceilings, clean, pinball machine and cheap beer make for a pleasent drinking experience. We drove by and found the site pretty funny....ummm a yacht club! So I just wanted T-shirts from this yacht club sporting a Bud sign! So we went over and yes bought a boatload of t-shirts (way too classy BTW) and had drinks, played pool and had some fries! Really nice people and great bar and pool room! Would totally go back! I enjoy the this neighborhood bar. The bartenders are friendly. The beers are cold. You can watch tv,play pool, test your shooting skills at Buck Hunter. During the day Jack cooks up tasty burgers and delicious soups. In the evening the pizzas are typical bar pizzas but always cooked to perfection. It's a wonderful corner bar. read more

This is probably my most frequented NE bar, because of proximation to my house. But it's definitely grown on me and I've become a fan. They have a decent pool table, but it's usually occupied 70% of the time and people playing are usually there for quite a few games. My group of friends does the same, so it's a crap shoot as to whether you'll ever get on it or not. The pinball machine and Buck Hunter machine are infrequently used, but are very close to the pool table, making it hard to play. Cheap drinks and a fairly large bottled beer selection for such a small, blue collar bar. There has to be 25+ types of bottles. They have all the classic domestics: Coors, Miller, Michelob ORIGINAL, which is odd. A few locals like Fulton and Summit and some out of left field, like Steigl and Kokanee (not rare beers, but rare to find in a bar like this). The bartenders are cool and I rarely leave with a tab over $20. Also, their patio is cute, although it's a smoker's galore, if that's not your thing. read more
