She was retained by our landlord (more details at www.hamilton-slumlords.com). She prepared and…read moreserved two N5 notices that were vague and that she knew contained falsehoods. Then she filed an L2 application based on the false N5s. When I pointed her to disclosed evidence that proved the N5s false, then emailed a recording of her star witness (who was another of her clients) admitting the allegations were lies, she faxed her resignation to the LTB 14 hours before the merits hearing, and without notifying me (which she was supposed to do). Her star witness also stated that Ms Greenway was responsible for the allegations and that he had never made them. A money-hungry, ethically challenged paralegal with limited skills (other than sharp practice. She's very good at that). There was never any disclosure made to us for the L2 application, and it never had a chance of success. It was filed to create multiple hearings on multiple applications as simultaneously as possible (we had other applications against our landlord), and was an clear abuse of process. Her disregard for LTB rules of procedure and sleazy tactics seems to be the norm these days. Her unprofessional conduct not only screwed her client (our landlord) but caused us (and the LTB) to have three more hearing dates than were necessary. On the plus side, our landlord stiffed her on the bill (according to her eleventh-hour non-engagement letter). Feel free to reply with your usual bluster, Ms Greenway. The full story (including the recordings I mentioned and other documents) will be posted to the blog. Ms Greenway is a shining example of the kind of legal professional this country could do without. There will likely be an ethical complaint made to the LSUC when this is over.
