It makes complete sense, because they have Woodway Elementary right down the street. The Parking Lot has been redone but, not expanded. I walked in and just about every seat was taken! There are signs explaining to check in at the Kiosk, take your number then fill out an application to replace your Driver's License. The Front Desk attendant was busy with a line of people. Later on another woman explained to us that the numbers are not called in order so, pay attention. She also, mentioned to make sure your forms are filled out correctly. She gave examples of some questions that are usually forgotten. That was very helpful! The Restrooms are sort of clean. There was some tissue paper on the floor though. They would not accept just a Social Security Card because, I do not have a Birth Certificate on file. So, I had to go get my Passport. Smh. I was able to get my spot back in line. Yes! Thank you, Jesus! She said, She does not look at the date the passport was issued but the expiration date. In case your wondering. It took like an hour and forty minutes for me to get my replacement. It was 10.00 plus a 1.00 processing fee. Also, the girl at the counter called for the next next number while she was still helping me. It made it awkward because, someone was anxiously waiting behind me. When their number was called they wanted help right away but, couldn't be helped right away because, I was there. Alright, that's enough info. I guess, that's what's expected at the DMV.

We were able to get right in without any issues, and my son passed his driving test! All the glory be to God thank You, Jesus! Such a positive experience from start to finish. Thank you to the staff for making this milestone day even more special.

I don't often write reviews for government offices, but the staff at the Texas Department of Public…read moreSafety in Plano absolutely deserve one. My appointment was scheduled for 1:20 p.m., and through pure operator error (completely my fault), I accidentally went to the wrong location. I had went to the Texas department of transportation. Then I drove to McKinney location only to realize my appointment wasn't there either it was in Plano, about 30 minutes away. Talk about panic mode! I had been waiting for this appointment since last August and thought I had completely blown it. By the time I arrived in Plano, I was late, stressed, desperately needed a restroom, and was convinced I'd be marked as a no-show. That's when I met Ms. Mona. She greeted me with kindness, directed me to the kiosk, and when my ticket showed "No Show," she didn't just send me away. She calmly suggested I speak with the representative at the window because they might still be able to work me in, even though they were very busy. That little bit of encouragement gave me hope. Then I met Ms. Esther, and she was nothing short of an angel. Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. My utility bill had the wrong address, so I had to email new proof of residency. I realized my vehicle registration was still in my car, so I had to run back outside to get it. Then I needed my veteran's proof of service...another trip to the car. I was definitely getting my steps in that afternoon! To top it all off, I accidentally emailed my documents to the wrong email address because I forgot part of the address and even misspelled "department." I was rushing, overwhelmed, and honestly on the verge of a panic attack. Through every bit of it, Ms. Esther never once acted frustrated. No eye rolls. No impatience. No attitude. She was patient, professional, encouraging, and genuinely kind. She gave me until 2:40 p.m. to get everything submitted, and thanks to her grace, I finally got checked in at 2:49 p.m. My number was called at 3:28 p.m., and I walked out with my new Texas driver's license at 4:09 p.m. Looking back, every single problem that day was my own doing. Had I slowed down, double-checked the address, and organized my paperwork before leaving home, the appointment would have been smooth. But instead of making me feel worse, the staff treated me with compassion and respect. The facility itself was clean, with plenty of parking, clean restrooms, ample seating, and friendly employees throughout the building. Thank you, Ms. Mona, for giving me hope when I thought I'd lost my appointment. Thank you, Ms. Esther, for your patience, your professionalism, and your kindness. You probably don't realize it, but you saved me from a panic attack, a migraine, and a whole lot of tears that afternoon. Customer service like yours deserves to be recognized. Thank you for turning one of the most stressful days into one I'll actually remember with gratitude

It's been a long time since I had to go in person to the Department of Public Safety for a license…read morerenewal, but lucky me, this was my year. When I got my notification, I learned they now operate on an appointment system. I made my appointment and the next available was one almost one month away. Today was my day... An appointment I was dreading could not have gone smoother. I checked in 30 minutes prior to my appointment (the maximum allowed). I didn't exactly clock how long it took me, but I was in and out and back on the road well before my scheduled appointment time and the person I worked with could not have been more pleasant!

I was told to be there 30 minutes early and my appointment was at 8 AM. I got there at 7:30. They…read moredo not open their doors until 8 AM. When I finally got through the doors, a nice young lady by the name of Courtney helped me with my drivers license to Texas from Florida. She explained they would not accept a Global Entry card as my second form of ID and I had left my passport at the office. They also would not accept my bank statement from PNC app so I had to get copies of those statements as well. I had two appointments one at eight and one at 8:20. The one at eight was for a Texas identification card. She told me you can't have both. Since the appt for my drivers license was at 8:20 I had 45 minutes to get there and back. Of course it was rush-hour traffic but I got back at 8:57, seven minutes past the 30 minute time mark. I walked in and a rude woman by the name of Robin, told me to step back in line as I explained I was working with Courtney, and I had the paperwork. She said Courtney's with a customer step back. Courtney waved me and said she'll be with me and asked me if I got everything I said yes. I waited outside inline for another 10 minutes making it 17 minutes past my 30 minute mark. When I got up to Robin again, not only was she rude but now obnoxious and told me to go to a different DPS because I missed my 30 minute window. I explained that I was here but because she made me wait in line it caused me to be even later, she said well I can't help you. She said get back on the app or go to another DPS. I called out to Courtney saying you know I have everything. Robin asked if I had a ticket for a delay, and I asked Courtney why didn't you give me one. She replied I gave you a 30 minute window, Robin is the one that gives the tickets. The really sad thing is that I made this appt 6 months prior in January. Very frustrated and irritated, I came back to my office and I started trying again to get an appt. Luckily I got the Carrollton office the next day! My daughter and I had a wonderful experience just the week before here. The ladies Jodi And Zakia at THE CARROLLTON DMV were amazing and kind. My advice is to avoid at all costs going to the Flower Mound location. If you can go to Carrollton, they are much kinder and they will help you in ways that Flower Mound will not. -5 stars for ROBIN.
