First of all the day of your shoot you are literally treated like a princess, make up and hair .. champagne and snacks. Carolina sat and talked with me while I was getting done up for the shoot and I loved that because we talked as we had known one another a while and that made me feel completely comfortable for the day. My make up and hair were outstanding! During the shoot Carolina guided me the whole way in poses and outfits I brought . ( the studio is beautiful and she has plenty of things to borrow if needed). Normally in a shoot when the pictures are done I like at the most 3 .. umm I liked almost every single picture! So much that I think i will have a total of 20 photos soon . Usually they only book boudoir photoshoots during the weekdays, but since I recently started a new job, I didn't have the PTO to make that happen. Luckily, we found one Sunday that worked (and we seriously only had the option of one Sunday. These girls are busy!). I prepared everything in secret so my husband wouldn't know, since it was a surprise gift. I would definitely suggest getting a spray tan the day before (and I highly suggest You Glow). It made my pictures pop that much more and I got rid of my terrible tan lines! Carolina sent me an email with instructions about the day. I didn't even need a phone consultation, because her communications were so thorough. I used to drive by her studio every day going home from work and I never knew it was there! It is really easy to get to - just down the street from International Plaza. Everyone was there when I arrived. Carolina works with Anna and Lo for Hair and Makeup. They are also phenomenal. I was worried, because being Asian I've had bad experience with makeup artists in the past. I had no reason to be worried at all. I showed them a picture from my wedding of the type of look I wanted and they perfected it to a tee. I think hair and makeup is so important for this type of shoot, so I'm glad she partners with such amazing talent. I brought three different looks. Carolina suggested I try standard black pumps, which she had already at the studio, instead of the shoes I brought. I'm glad she made that suggestion. My outfits looked ten times better with her shoes. She did a great job walking me through the poses. Even the ones that felt awkward looked amazing when I saw the proofs. She had three different sets for the three different outfits. After taking the pictures I got to go get lunch while she curated the pictures. Since I majorly dieted for these pictures I attacked the scones she provided and then went over to International to grab some food. About an hour later I returned to choose which five pictures I wanted for my book. The book itself is pretty neat. It is called an accordion book, because there is a page that pulls out like an accordion to be an even larger page. That way you can give a full body shot the space it deserves. She has a large tv where she pulls up the pictures and you go through rounds deciding which you like and which you don't to narrow it down to five. I felt like such a narcissist, because I loved all the pictures. Carolina makes it easy to choose between pictures, because she can pull up multiple ones to show you side by side. Once you decide on five pictures you get to choose which picture goes where in the book and then you're done! About a month later she sent me the edited pictures, which I adored. Once I approved them they were sent off to be turned into a book. It was such an amazing and empowering experience overall. Best thing is my husband absolutely loved the gift! Trust me, I know ;) Originally, I balked at the price, but after looking around I realized that for good quality, this is what you will have to pay. The hair and makeup is included so it isn't too bad. Also, almost naked pictures of yourself are not what you want to skimp on. If you're going to do boudoir pictures, I would tell you to stop looking and book Carolina. You will not regret it.
