I have an oak tree planted about 30' from my house that had grown out over the house roof over the years. My wife and I were undecided if we should have it taken down or trimmed back. I called Jerry out to look at the tree and offer his opinion on managing it. He said that the tree was in good health and that he could trim it back and give us more years of enjoyment and shade from the western sun. He and his crew did just that and what a difference! If you're looking for any tree work, look no further than Cecil Tree services! I had four large evergreen trees dangerously between me and my neighbors house. I also had some trees on the other side of the house that were touching the roof that I wanted to get trimmed back. I called Jerry to set up a estimate and he called me back right away. He was able to set up an appointment for the very next day. I had 5 different estimates set up. Jerry gave me an extremely reasonable quote and had years of experience. When I called to secure Cecil Tree to do the job, Jerry was able to bring his crew out just a few days later (I got lucky with dry weather). They brought a shredder to grind up all the branches. They asked if they could park it on the grass to be closer to the trees and I said "of course". Before they moved it on the grass, they put hard plastic covers on the ground so the wheels wouldn't damage the grass (see picture). Jerry himself was the climber and cutter. He was careful, precise and swift. Cecil tree cleaned up all the clippings, branches and even the sawdust! They did everything I wanted and they did it quick, safe and left without a trace they were even there. There's a reason they have been in business since 1958: they take great pride in their work. Small local business, I called them after the debacle of the first tree service (see my other review). The owner came out on an evening to look at my tree, even though it was obvious he was on his way somewhere with his family. The price was very reasonable due to the size and the proximity to the house and they cleared the deadfall and some branches that had already been cut but not removed. The only thing that delayed us was the rain. And my tree still looks like a tree. Thank you! read more

It was 1 year ago (February 2017) when I called Cecil Tree Service for an estimate on several trees. They came out in early March 2017 & gave me a written estimate which was reasonable. I asked them to start as soon as possible. I went to my bank & paid for a cashier's check for the amount of the estimate. On March 25, 2017, I called & left a message that I was waiting for them to begin the work & that I had a check for them. On March 29, 2017 they left me a voice mail thanking me for my patience & due to recent weather conditions of high wind, etc. that they had a lot of work but would get to me. It is now February 25, 2018 & work has never started nor have I heard from the company. The buds are out on the trees which means they can't trim the trees until at least this fall/winter 2019. I've returned the cashier's check to the bank. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend Cecil Tree Service nor would I believe their website. Their inability to not do the work but more importantly their inability to communicate to me that they couldn't or wouldn't do the work is the most hurtful to me. Now my ability to square away my yard & stop damage from the trees to the house & to the car is now at least 18 months behind schedule. I am not a happy consumer. read more
