Unfortunately, the quality of the service I received did not meet the expectations 1 would have from a professional alterations business. I entrusted my garments to your team, and anticipated a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that Just Alterations is apparently known for based off of previous google reviews. However, upon receiving my items, I noticed several issues that were not addressed adequately. All 3 pair of shorts I brought in to have hemmed; 1) All have crooked and uneven seam lines 2) 2 are misaligned leaving 1 leg opening wider than the other 3) 1 has the seam coming undone (and I only tried on, did not wear) 4) All have what I am hoping are fabric pencil marks that will come out, and not marks left from an iron or steamer. All issues I noticed, and pointed out upon picking up. To my surprise and further disappointment, I still had to pay..... full price! With no discount as if this is an acceptable result for this business. In 40 years, and many many alterations from previous places, I have never seen such poor work, and even worse customer service.

I instantly liked her & the bride she was helping raved about her work, so to me there was no point in looking any further! I'm a BIG fan of bling, but I didn't want to be trashy & I wanted to incorporate my favorite colors purple & sliver, well Michelle did just that. She totally understood my vision even before I did, my dress was already beautiful, but when she added all her special touches my dress was BEYOND PERFECT!!! She adjusted the pleats on the top part of my gown to fit my bust better, she did my bustle & added bead work. Everyone thought the dress was beautiful & it was totally me. My Mom loved the perfect touches she added. She texted me through-out the process to let me know how the dress progress was going, she texted me pictures of all the bead work she was going to add. She was super flexible with times for fittings, I was still in school with a full time job & planning; so things got hectic from time to time. I even forgot one of my fittings because I was studying for an exam & she was more than understanding. Yes, the fittings were at her house & yes her husband was there from time to time, but I NEVER felt uncomfortable, she was always professional & truly cared about what I thought & how I felt. Initially, when I brought the dress in they were all very nice to me. Monica saw my Jimmy choos and was very friendly and wouldn't stop talking about my shoes. However, as time went on and I asked to wear my wedding dress the second time when I went to pick it up and it was already steamed their tone completely changed. I had bought an off shoulder dress from this place in Old Town Spring who said Monica will be able to help me but look at the dress. What dress I bought and how I had to wear it for my wedding. The dress was supposed to be off shoulder and I just wanted to cover my arms a little bit but they told me there was no option to do that. The seller told me Monica could do that for me. Too late to return the dress so my vision was completely ruined. They didn't put in a boning in my tummy area and they claimed they did. My friend who knows sewing was with me and she had them completely take the dress apart in the tummy and guess what? There was no boning. They refunded me $80/90. When I told them it's not holding my tummy in how a corset would, they told me that's just your tummy. I'm a 170 lbs size 12 person. I'm not skinny but mind you a corset is supposed to snatch my waist. My friend was appalled by the way their faces changed when i asked to put the dress on after alteration was completed before he boning issue was discovered. They expected me to not to try my wedding dress on after I paid 900?? The bustle was also done bad so I had the train drag all night. Just very disappointed. The setting was luxury but the service wasn't at all. I have high standards when it comes to service so may be other people would be ok with this service but I wasn't. They stopped smiling at me and paid 0 attention once I asked to put the dress on after it was steamed. I'm writing this at 4 am in the morning because this thing haunts me every day.... Luxury Tailors were kind enough to stay open with their staff after hours. This was greatly appreciated! I brought in a delicate vintage baby dress for an alteration, and unfortunately it was altered…read morewith the inside of the dress treated as the outside. When I raised the issue, I was told it wasn't clear which side was the inside versus the outside. However, the dress has clear indicators--including the tag, buttons, and front design details--that distinguish the inside from the outside. The incorrect stitching left visible needle holes in the fragile fabric and left the alteration work, which should have been concealed on the inside of the dress, visible on the outside when the dress is worn. I explained that I was not comfortable having the alteration undone because the dress is very old and the fabric is fragile. I was concerned that removing the stitches could cause additional damage. The owner would only refund the alteration fee if she was allowed to undo the work. Since I did not want to risk further damage to my dress, I declined. I was disappointed that a refund for an incorrectly performed alteration was conditioned on allowing additional work to be done to such a delicate garment. Mistakes can happen, but I was disappointed with how this situation was handled. I would encourage anyone bringing in vintage or heirloom items to use caution.
