    Mexican Hamburger
    Alexander A.

Wow. The best dining experience I've had in quite awhile. The service was amazing. The food was DELICIOUS. The place was spotless and clean top to bottom. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The Mexican hamburger covered in green chili was mouth watering. I hope to make it back again one day. Thank you for the excellent dining experience.

On our way home to Nebraska from our road trip to Denver we decided to try a little small town dining.. The reviews and pictures looked fabulous.. The customer service was very welcoming, the older decor made me feel like I was a kid again, and the place was super busy the whole time we were here.. I ordered the gourmet grilled chicken salad which was huge and the flavor in the chicken (and the amount) was great, I was very impressed.. My husband had a taco salad which was big as well but the meat was just regular hamburger not very flavorful and basic tortilla chips as the crust or shell, not a lot of flavor and was pretty disappointed in that.. Our son tried the Mexican burger, odd enough covered in sauce. He ate all the fries with the sauce which left the burger itself lacking in flavor (if he ate it all with the sauce it may have been better), I thought it was pretty good. Over all the gourmet grilled chicken salad was the best!!

I like that they deliver. The food however is mediocre. Not sure if I'll order from here again:(

Apparently serving paying customers a few minutes before closing was too much to ask. My reply to the owner... Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your response reinforces the concerns I expressed in my original review. Rather than addressing the customer experience, you chose to dismiss it by focusing on the time we arrived and by implying that my review was the result of me "needing a great day." That kind of sarcasm does not reflect the level of professionalism customers should expect from a business owner. You stated that you personally saw us enter at 9:40 PM and that the kitchen had already closed at 9:30 PM. However, I take accuracy seriously, and I do not appreciate being misrepresented. I have a screenshot documenting the time I left your establishment, which directly contradicts the timeline presented in your response. If the facts are important enough for you to publicly defend your business, they should also be important enough to present truthfully. To be clear, businesses have every right to establish kitchen hours and closing procedures. Had the situation simply been explained professionally and courteously, my review likely would have reflected that. What stands out is not the policy itself, but the way concerns were handled afterward. I travel extensively throughout the United States and internationally, reviewing small family-owned businesses because I genuinely enjoy supporting them. In many cases, when an owner responds thoughtfully and demonstrates a commitment to customer service, I am willing to reconsider or update a review. In this case, however, instead of leaning into customer service and understanding, you chose to defend, justify, and direct sarcasm toward a customer. I can accept mistakes. What I have a much harder time accepting is dishonesty. The screenshot of the time I left your establishment speaks for itself. I wish you and your business the best, but I stand by my review. To make matters worse, we had a similar experience elsewhere in Sterling when a Sonic employee snapped at us for trying to place an order. Thankfully, Village Inn restored a little faith in customer service with friendly staff, welcoming patrons, and genuine hospitality. If you're traveling through town, don't expect Parts and Labor to go out of its way for customers. We were in and out in under a minute--with nothing but a bad impression to take with us.

Submitted for your perusal, a hungry traveler steps through a restaurant door and upon entering is transported back to a time where life is clean, less complicated. A time of when expectation is simple, and it comes with a smile. What meets the eye is 60's ambiance, and it doesn't feel staged. Seating, tables, light fixtures all blend to give you the feel of your small town, main street cafe. A memory from your youth. With that memory comes anticipation of a satisfying hearty meal. Simple straight forward food that'll fill the void and send you back to reality happy, well fed, and wondering if it was all a dream. It isn't a dream folks. The food is indeed hearty and very tasty. There's a lot of it too. You won't go away hungry. My meal was outstandingly delicious. Home cooked to perfection. I was tempted to choose a selection from the dessert display to top off the experience, but my waistline, and my girlfriends side eye moved me in the opposite direction. Next time through Sterling, I'll start with dessert. Quick Tip: Don't wear fancy clothes to the Village Inn. I didn't and was rewarded by getting only one spot on my pants. My chopped steak was so tender, that when cutting, I over compensated thinking that it would be tough. A chunk slid off my plate and onto my pants. SMH.... my daughters are right, they can't take me anywhere.

At first I didn't think it was open. Only one vehicle in the parking lot. I peered in through the door and didn't really see anyone. I went back outside to take some photos of the business and an older man came partially out the door and told me they were open. I finished outside and in I went. The interior was themed with John Wayne and I only saw about 8 tables. The lights are very low and the atmosphere was quiet. The gentleman brought me a water and soon after a waitress appeared. I had fried sliced dill pickles for an appetizers. YUM I ordered from The Littleton Pilgrim section. I ordered the 4oz Top Sirloin Dinner extremely well done. My sides were steak fries and fresh green beans and home made rolls. My steak was cooked perfect for me and the fries and green beans were so fresh. The rolls were a little over done but very flavorable. A little pricy for dinner but great food and service. $$$$ The interior is vintage dated with, hard to see with just old low lights hanging. Heavily decorated with John Wayne items and old jukebox off to the side of the bar. Great place to reminisce and enjoy a nice meal!

I generally try to judge a restaurant not only by its food, but by the overall experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell short. We arrived with a larger group, and from the moment we walked in, it felt as though our presence was more of an inconvenience than an opportunity to welcome guests. Large parties can certainly require extra effort, but hospitality is often what separates an average restaurant from a memorable one. Instead of feeling welcomed, we left feeling like we had disrupted the staff's day. As for the food, it was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing particularly stood out either. It was serviceable and met expectations, but it wasn't memorable enough to outweigh the disappointing customer service experience. I'm sharing this review because I genuinely hope ownership takes it as constructive feedback. Restaurants succeed when guests feel valued, and with a little more attention to hospitality, I believe the overall experience could improve significantly.
