On Sunday April 27 2025 on the…read more14 year anniversary of the generational tornado outbreak of April 27 2011 My sister and I stopped at the Legacy Chevron in Russellville after stopping by the Phil Campbell Memorial Park honoring the victims of the April 27 2011 tornado outbreak and grieving their loss and their families and friends and all of the precious 252 Alabamians who lost their lives in the devastating April 27 2011 tornado outbreak and on a personal level I highly recommend you stop at this gas station not just because they are open 24 hours but they have a monument/memorial for the victims of the April 27 2011 tornado outbreak and their names are listed on the memorial and the memorial is the shape of the tornado which is not a very easy thing to look at because of the loss of life in the outbreak but it is a beautiful monument/memorial and every time we go to Phil Campbell or come back from Phil Campbell or even Red Bay or anywhere in Franklin County that's the gas station we will stop at and I highly recommend it to everyone. I was nervous and honestly a little scared because I had no idea where I was. From the moment I walked in, the cashier was so kind and reassuring. Her friendliness immediately helped calm my nerves. Then Terry, the maintenance man, came to my rescue. He graciously took time out of his day to fix my tire in the blazing afternoon heat. It wasn't an easy repair, but he stuck with it, even using his own tools to get me safely back on the road. The kindness and generosity I was shown meant more than I can say. They made me feel like I was back home. It's people like Terry and the wonderful cashier who remind me why I'm proud to be from the South. The service was friendly though I felt sorry for the attendant who had a previous customer pull off stealing $75 worth of gas without paying. The attendant indicated that she would have to pay for that out of her own paycheck. I felt badly for her. The restrooms were clean. They had fudge and ice cream and boiled peanuts and other items to choose from. They also sell bitcoin! I would use the stop again in the future.
