My reward for hitting my Weight Watchers goal of 40 pounds down was a new pair of walking shoes because success begets success - and let the party continue! I first looked at the clearance rack. Sadly, the selection was pretty picked over. So I went to look at New Balance, a brand I consider tried and true. A really knowledgeable salesman explained the features and benefits of four different levels of shoes. I didn't buy by price, I bought on benefit and am really happy with my selection. It's so comfortable and supportive. The salesman measured my feet and - whoops - I've been buying too small shoes for a while. Now with a comfortable expansive toe box, good arch support and a heel construction that feels wrapped around the back of my foot I am seriously happy and walking on. Thanks for the help, Stan's. They had a million crocs and lots of work boots for men, good selection of running shoes for both men and women... I'll have to really dig for some cutesy heels in Sheboygan. Because they aren't here. I'll be back if I need a good pair of running shoes or if I ever suck it up and decide to wear crocs for some reason. Eventually we were given the option of returning only for items on the sale rack but there were limited options and furthermore no sizes were I could make an exchange. The tags were still on! Totally unreasonable. I understand that if the product were worn or damaged, store credit would be appropriate. I will never shop here again and strongly caution anyone else for the same reason. Seems illogical especially since the clerk claimed the policy was due to it being a small business. I shop these types of businesses because I get better service. Not true here.
