I hired this company about three years ago to redo my patio, steps and too small slabs. It was…read morestamped and stained (only on top) the colors they chose didn't match or flow, but the owner or manager (Chad) convinced me to wait a year because it will fade out. They also removed all my very old (collected) flagstone that was in a small garden connected to the patio, WITHOUT my permission! I contacted Chad to have it brought back and he told me that it was disposed of, sorry.. no offer to replace this stones.
I paid $10,000 cash for this job.
In less than two years, I had a crack going from the base of my steps all the way across the landing and out the other side and several large rock pops, the patio looked bad.
I contacted the owner, he sent a guy out in May, whom told me that my patio looked bad from the street, he told me that they can fix the crack etc and will add another sealant and would return by June 10th, they never showed.
A few weeks later I contacted the owner again to let him know that nobody came, it was towards the end of the season and he said that they were booked up but would put me at the first of the list for Spring when weather is permitted, to contact him then. I contacted him when he asked me to, I was then told that he was already booked and to call him back in about a month. I reminded him that we did this back-and-forth thing last spring, they were right now show and this was the second season I had to have my patio cleared off for them and was unable to use it and I would not be calling him every couple weeks to be added in and that I was supposed to be at the top of the list and done first.
He wrote me back and stated that he would contact me the first week of June and get some thing figured out. I was never contacted, instead one of his employees showed up the last week of May and told my son that we needed to have the patio cleared off because he was coming to power-wash it. I had to clear my patio off at 11:30 PM that night when I got home from work. His employees showed up the next day and power washed it twice, skip a day then showed up the following day unannounced and stained my patio a very dark red to brown color, without my permission and without me being home, no cracks or holes were fixed. My patio looks horrible, it looked better messed up, I hate it!
I was livid, I contacted the owner to ask him what he told his employee to do, that I did not authorize that and I don't want it like that, that it is extremely ugly, it is very dirty looking and he sprayed over some rust spots instead of clearing them. The owner returned my message with a, "That was nice... We went out of our way to fit you in." (You mean you did your damn job?!)
He states that the crack and the rock pops are with in normal range and common in this Minnesota weather and they can't fix them and that I would have to wait a year to see how am I staying faded, but first he argued that they didn't stain it at all and that my patio was just dirty to begin with, to which I stated, "How is that possible when they were the ones who sealed it to begin with and his employee power washed it twice?!"
Chad then went on to tell me that they could come back next year and grind it down if I wanted to pay them to do that, I stated "Why would I pay you to do something I didn't ask you to do to begin with?!?" He went on to tell me that it didn't matter if I took him to small claims court because they were the best concrete company in the city and they do the best work, I told him that if he was willing to put the work he did on my patio on the front page of his website and Facebook page to show their great craftsmanship for a minimum of 30 days I would keep it as is and let it go, he did or not respond and has now blocked my messages.
Very unprofessional and unorganized with a lack of customer service skills.
Within the last three years, with this company and one other company that I've had update my house, I've spent $17,000 I've had poor work done by two different companies, this shouldn't be allowed to happen and I am beyond tired of paying good money for poor work!
