This is the condition that Cedar Creek Realty rents out their managed cabins that they charge "cleaning fees" for. Tried to go in person to discuss horrendous condition of cabin but was told well did you call the emergency number ? The person did not want to be bothered helping. They refunded the cleaning fee but ghosted us via email after we inquired and followed up about getting more compensation for the mold, filth and unusable cookware in the kitchen. Photos speak for themselves. I posted review to their website for the Huckleberry House where I rented and it is not shown .. how convenient. What is shown is a few 5 stars from several years ago about it being so "clean". FALSE ADVERTISING. Lucky they don't allow reviews on their Facebook or else I would stick these photos there as well. read more

Kelly at Cedar Creek Realty's goal is entirely profit. She completely disregards neighborhood CC&R's which disallow short term rentals in favor of her profit. She hosts huge party houses, greatly disrupting our peaceful, residential neighborhoods. She does not address noise nor overcrowding complaints. All of the nearby short term rentals on my street, advertise a guest list of 12 persons per house. We often see 7 or more vehicles parked in front of these houses. I definitely recommend NOT using Cedar Creek Realty for anything. read more

I would NEVER EVER use Cedar Creek Realty. Toby was a flat out liar, told lies regarding why a late term escrow failed. He lied to my face, lied to others. He failed to disclose how permanent residents and property owners feel about Air B&B. The homeowner bears some level of responsibility, as IMHO they both conspired to remove a Private Property sign from a property owner's home. They both deny it of course. This group is outstanding with their advertising of property listings. They are professional and have great customer support and patience! We rented a house from this company over the weekend and were horrified to discover rodent feces throughout the house. The house had clearly not been cleaned for several weeks. We contacted the property manager and they were very evasive about the situation stating that many rodents had moved into houses due to the rain and cold. THERE WAS ZERO APOLOGY OR ATTEMPT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SITUATION. They claimed they had no idea the property had a rodent infestation and had never had a problem before. They tried to blame us stating, that if we had contacted them earlier they would have moved us to another property. They offered 1/2 refund for our stay as compensation. Extremely disappointing for a property charging over $1000 per night with a $200 cleaning fee. read more

We just returned from our annual vacation in Arnold and I realized I have never done a review for Cedar Creek Realty. I honestly don't know how many rentals we've done with them - perhaps 15 or more? I have always had very good experiences with their Property Managerment. It's kinda of nice to be remembered but it's really nice for a company to have your back when your renting through them. Some of the cabins have been awesome and some have been not so awesome, but always clean and always as described. I have found them very receptive, clear about terms and accommodating. Thanks, guys! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. They totally got the dates wrong when we made our reservation. We showed up to the cabin we rented late in the evening. We were exhausted . We went to bed to only find hair on the pillows and linens. Disgusting. Every bed in the house was gross. Urine on the toilet seat. This place had not been cleaned before our arrival. I also have a friend who has a cabin in tbe area who had to fire them due to the same issues. Do NOT list your property with them. My friend has had multiple issues with them!!! P.s we had no hot water all weekend and the damn smoke alarm beeped all weekend also. Needed a new battery. read more

We started off by renting a cabin from Cedar Creek a few summers back, and then ended up deciding to purchase a family cabin last Spring. Every step of the way with them has been pleasant and well-informed, and we've appreciated the professionalism and knowledge of the area provided by Kelley (our realtor). Customer service has also been fantastic - they are always at the ready with recommendations for service providers (from plumbers to painters to tree removers to general handymen), and have done us multiple favors when we've needed them to go and check on something at the cabin. Me and 17 friends did a girls trip. Stayed right across from the lake and had a blast. Laughing, talking and sharing precious memories for ever. The house was super clean and had everything we needed, even some games. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and beautiful weather. It was close to a grocery store. Pretty much unimpressed. We rented Bears Bungalow (AWESOME HOUSE, this review is NOT about the property) for a week. Whole thing got off to a bad start with Krystal over incomplete, unclear explanation of fees and charges on the contract. She was impatient and rude. Then, we called to ask about dogs when our dog sitter cancelled at the last minute. Not sure who we spoke to. We KNEW the property had a "no pet" policy, but we were asking if they would check with the owner for a possible exception. It took three days for someone to get back to us. Too long. Then, when we arrived at the property, the garbage was full from the previous renter. We waited a day to call and were told it would be picked up the next day. It wasn't. We called Cedar Creek Realty again and were told it wasn't their problem. Told us to call the garbage company. NOT THEIR PROBLEM???? What is the owner paying them for. There are several other options for renting properties in the area. Suggest you go to one of them first. If you can't find Bears Bungalow listed with another office, then proceed with Cedar Creek with caution. read more

We used Cedar Creek to book at cabin in Blue Lake Springs. They were easy to work with and answered every question I had. The house was in good condition and we enjoyed our stay there. The reason they did not get 5 stars is because they claimed the house had movies and Wii Games when in actuality it had one or two of each. There was also only one roll of Toilet paper in each restroom and and half of a paper towel roll for 6 people who were staying 6 days. We used this Real estate company after I found an ad on Craig's list It was truly a great experience dealing with this company. They are so organized and professional. We arrived to find our keys and a welcome envelope waiting for us at the office which is on Highway 4. The house the Charlotte Chalet was way more charming than I expected. The pictures on Craig's list did not do the house justice. I expected it to smell funky and the furniture to remind me of a 70's sitcom...well I was in for a pleasant surprise. The house was adorable. It has wood flooring on the first floor. It smelt fresh and was very inviting. All appliances were in tip top shape. A few minor issues. They needed to have more concise instructions for the heating,oven, TV and fireplace....city folk are not used to roughing it. The backyard was perfect for sledding and we had a hammock strung between two redwoods. It was truly beautiful staying in a cabin surrounded by snow laden redwood trees. This is a super company to deal with for rentals. We are already planning a trip for next year. Just a note about Arnold. No cell service seems to work here and you have to wait until you are up at Bear Valley Ski area to use your iphone or other internet devices. We took 3 cell phones Verizon , at&t and a tracphone. You cannot use the phone in the cabin except for local calls so make sure you take a phone card. We were in serious net withdrawal. They do have WiFi at the Ski resort and the Iphone worked perfectly there. read more

After an upsetting Airbnb experience resulting in us unexpectedly being forced to vacate our lodging (apparently the owners weren't aware it was being rented out by the hosting agency!) I found Cedar Creek online and reached out to them directly via phone to see if they had any properties immediately available in the area. The woman working with me took time to look through all of her properties with me on the phone and find one which worked for our timeline, our family size, and our budget. Within an hour and a half, she had keys and a rental agreement in my hands and we were in a home. The poorest customer service I have experienced from a rental agency ever. To keep a long story short, we were snowed in without electricity in one of their VRBO properties(on a weekend when heavy snow was expected) which did not even have a flashlight, lantern at our disposal. We called the reported 24 hour assistance line and the man who answered said he did not know this property and couldn't help. We did not receive help for over 24 hours. At no time during our stay or after was there ever an apology, a condolence or a maybe we could have handled that better. Instead the response was "other rentals were snowed in and they had a great time". We were informed that they would speak with the owner about some form of compensation for not having the home appropriately prepared but two weeks later and a dodged phone call everyday following up, I am literally unable to have someone speak with me about it instead I get "they are on the other line or in a meeting and will call you back"...then no call back. It was very unfortunate because two of the women who I went with loved the property and before our experience dealing with cedar creek realty were planning on going back with their families. I feel sorry for the owner of the property as they are definitely losing business. Chose another arnold property not managed by cedar creek so you can rest easy and enjoy your vacation. read more

I would rather give this company a negative star review at the moment. They have lied to my family and I for the last hour. We rented this cabin months ago for a family vacation, the advertisement said the cabin would have air conditioning on both the Cedar Creek web-site and the VRBO listing of this home. When my parents arrived they told me the house was hot - so I looked both sites up on my computer. You will see the advertisement including the line about air conditioning on their Yelp page - within 20 minutes of my parents calling the verbiage about the air conditioning was cut from the VRBO site. Within the next hour the verbiage was also taken off of the Cedar Creek site. Good thing I had left my computer on...still had the correct ad. Kelly then proceeded to tell my sister that we needed to refresh our "cookies" we weren't seeing the right ad, and they had no way to be changing the web-site. This is such an outright lie - I watched both ads change from my own computer! Also - even in the event a cookie refresh meant anything - they should have warned us months earlier that this home suddenly would not have A/C. I am amazed that this company would call my mother a liar, and that they would continue on in their lie with no hint of doing the right thing. Kelley helped us find a perfect cabin (the Rio Resort) for our family with two teenage daughters and five of their friends to rent for the MLK weekend. We had a blast! The older teens skied every day, and the younger ones went sledding, hiking in Big Trees, and cross country skiing with us one day in Bear Valley. (I down hilled with the older ones the other two days.) The BBQ on the deck was great to have, as one night we made a small feast. (7 teenagers eat a lot.) The game room was well used by all 7 teens, and having both air hockey and ping pong, plus foosball, meant everyone could do something. Also, the multiple TVs and DVD players allowed everyone to watch movies we wanted to see. They also had a great selection of board games and VHS tapes. Having multiple bathrooms was also a real plus. A small group of us decided to put together a girls' weekend away in Murphys. One of us contacted Cedar Creek to rent a home for a recent weekend. Emails and phone calls were made and she couldn't get a response from them. This went on for a while so I was asked to try. I contacted Cedar Creek Realty....and was able to reserve the weekend we wanted. This was several weeks in advance of the date we were travelling. During that time several changes were received from them - yes, the pool will be open / no, the pool will be closed / yes, the pool will be open / pick up the key here / pick up the key there / - they just couldn't get it right. About 3 weeks after signing the paperwork and getting it back to them, they contacted me and requested it. Really? I re-sent it. Needless to say, we developed a Plan B in case we had to use a local motel once we arrived in the area. Who has to do that???? When we finally picked up the key and instructions and the HUGE list of rules for the cabin, we discovered there was no map to the cabin....We were fortunate we were able to use the GSP function on our phones. When we arrived, we couldn't get in as it was the WRONG KEY. Finally getting through to the Cedar Creek Realty office (5 attempts as phone service in the area only sometimes works if you stand in the middle of the road) Jessica drove the right key down to us. They are located in Arnold....maybe 10-20 miles away up the mountain. During this process I also left messages in their Emergency Contact's voicemail. Never heard back from them. What if we had arrived at night? Would anyone call me back? I was lucky to be able to get through to Jessica. When we finally got in, we discovered it's a beautiful cabin. It was decorated very nicely and we enjoyed ourselves very much. But the cabin had no wifi, television reception was a little sketchy and not all of the TV's worked. We had to go outside and stand in the middle of the road to get occasional cell service. On the last day, reading through the current set of instructions we learned we had to make the drive to Arnold to drop off the key. Calling them to verify was useless as we couldn't get through although we did try. We loved our trip to Murphys! But would I use Cedar Creek Realty again? No. Would I recommend? No. BUT if you do, travel during the day and have a Plan B. They get 1 star and that's because Jessica made the drive to give us the right key....I had my doubts anyone would do that but she did. read more

After many hours of searching vacation home listings I selected one and booked it through Cedar Creek Realty, the property rental agent, for a summer trip at the price stated on the Vacation By Owner Website. After I had invited my family, and shared the photo's, I was informed I would have to pay significantly more, accept a lesser quality cabin, or lose the reservation, even though I had confirmed the price during booking. We have used them for rentals in the past. They have been mediocre. This review is for the last house we rented from Cedar Creek Realty in December of 2011. It was a large house accommodating 16 people. According to their advertisement, it had a steam room, large kitchen etc. What they forgot to tell us was that about 1/3 of everything in the house did not work. That didn't seem equitable since we paid over $3,300 for 7 days rental. The response from them was poor at best. The smoke detector was going off one night (what is one night's sleep anyway). Tucked up high so we could not get to it, we had to call them the next day. They sent someone to replace the battery. When we arrived the first day, the kitchen dishes and dishwasher were very dirty. The bed coverings we paid for were not placed on the beds. The sound system didn't work. The TV's were old and the main one was very high and gave you a stiff neck looking up at it... During the second to the last evening, I stepped out the back door. It was dark because the lighting is very poor in this house. I turned my ankle very badly. When we reported this to Cedar Creek Realty, they basically said "too bad". Even though I had to be taken to the Sonora Emergency Room, and have had to cope with this for over a month (still rehabbing), they would not give us any help with contacting the insurance agent for the property. We were told that the form my wife signed waived all our rights (including death) while at that property. I would give the 0 stars, but that is not an option on Yelp. read more

We're staying at one of their cabins for the weekend and so far these have been our issues. #1. The place is FILTHY. My dad cleaned the floors. The hallway alone filled up the vacuum cleaner. #2. Blood on pillow. #3. Dirty panties on one of the beds. #4 kitchen faucet is broken so trying to find luke warm water was impossible. #5. They advertise pool table and dart board, yer there are no darts and the pool sticks have no tips. #6. They make no effort to clean up the leaves in the driveway. A few of us have slipped because of the amount of leaves. #7. A couch pillow had some sort of yogurt or yogurt consistency. Found that first hand.. nasty! #7. The light above the stove doesnt work. Well, i should say it works when it wants to. Im sure theres more i just dont remember now. I strongly suggest you never rent this house. It would be nice but its property mgmt doesnt take care of the house. They dont clean and that card they leave saying they cleaned it lied. Never rent here. U will feel dirty by the time u leave. read more
