I just spoke on the phone to Cedar Dale Pet Resort regarding my concerns over being over charged for my dogs boarding and grooming. They are making false claims. The woman on the phone said they have a note in their system that they told me the grooming prices vary and gave me cost estimates. This is untrue. They never spoke to me. If they had given me those prices ($600 for grooming) I would not have approved those charges. In fact they never spoke to me on the phone. All communication was done in writing via email. I have also attached the invoice I was given as an estimate and the grooming is listed as $0 - she said I should have known it wasn't free. And went on to try and shame me saying they don't work for free. That $200/ dog is normal for big dogs. Every other time we have boarded our dogs at other facilities they have either included a bath/groom for free or charged a small free, under $60 a dog. The only reason we did not use our normal boarding facility was they were closed for renovations the week we were going to be gone. Cedar Dale Pet Resort apparently feels that charging 50% more than the original written quote without getting authorization is acceptable. Please do not ever use Cedar Dale Pet Resort, they do not honor their price estimates and do not ask permission before performing services that can exceed $500-600. read more

Pricing...took my standard poodle to be shaved for the summer...they said 4 hours...went back and the bill was $126.47.... ...I didn't ask the price before I left him, but he wasn't that long. He was somewhat matted, but that shouldn't matter since he was to be shaved to the skin....this was not a show clip. I also realized that they had nicked the pad of his one paw. read more

We are disappointed in the services at Cedar Dale. We brought our yellow lab in last week for a bath, nail clip, and "blow out". We also specified that our dog is not particularly other dog friendly, he requires slow introductions in outdoor settings (he can be dangerous if he feels uncomfortable/threatened). When we received him, he was still wet! It did not appear that he was blow dried at all. His nails do not appear to have been trimmed either, at least not by someone who knows how to trim dog nails. The groomer also made comments about how our dog was "not happy" about the uncrated dogs that were roaming around - we were sure to let them know about his needs and were assured they would be tended. Staff was very friendly, but we will not be returning here. read more

Yesterday June 20 I had a funeral to attend and used Cedar Dale Pet Resort for Doggie Day Care for the first time!! What a wonderful experience for both of us!! I used them for Grooming but now I will use them for Day Care!!! What a caring staff!! They treat the dogs like they would their own!!! I have found my Pet Spa!! Way to go Cedar Dale!!! Brought my dog here for her first daycare experience and when I picked her up she seemed totally happy and tired! She's a little shy at first, but they accommodated her and she thrived playing with a smaller group. Every staff member I interacted with was very nice. Oh, and the first daycare visit is free! That was a lovely surprise. Will definitely recommend to others and my dog will be back tomorrow! read more

Very disappointed with the grooming service provided for my 3 golden retrievers. They don't listen clearly to directions and when I brought this to their attention they blamed it on us. The dogs came in with beautiful feathers they decided to cut way back. read more

I wanted to take a moment to share our great experience with Cedar Dale over the 4th of July weekend. This summer is my 30th summer on Lake Delaven. I started coming up as a young girl. However, it's our very first as pet owners. We brought our mini Goldendoodle into our family in March, and are so in love. We were looking for a place to keep Gryffy occupied for a few days while we enjoyed some beach time, etc. and stumbled upon Cedar Dale. He hung out in daycare for two days and loved it. We have been taking our dogs to Cedar Dale for about 15 years. We always had a great experience and felt our babies were in good hands. It has recently changed hands and being managed by a new owner. It definitely has a different vibe which I guess I'm just not yet used to. The former owners, Peter and Bruce, were really in tune with our neurosis with leaving our dogs for extended periods. If we had concerns, they were promptly addressed and our minds were quickly put at ease. They had a long time, loyal staff that were really amazing and always made us feel totally comfortable. I think it's just going to take time for me to adjust to the new set up. The new owner seems wonderful and has an active Facebook page which provides pictures of what the dogs are doing on a regular basis. They have special dinners for the dogs on major holidays and make these homemade wonderful frozen treats that our dog goes nuts over. They have installed turf in all the play areas so the dogs come home with muddy paws, which I'm sure was very costly to have installed. Very nice upgrade. Our dog really enjoys her stay here. She loves the socialization and I appreciate that they mix it up where she gets to play with the big dogs and the little dogs. (She's only 40 lbs and usually prefers puppies and and little dogs). I hope Cedar Dale continues in the tradition of providing excellent service to their clients. It's clear that they love the animals and are engendering a warm, nurturing environment. I would encourage the staff to continue to work on communication skills. Communicating with a customer who is thousands of miles away while their pet is being boarded can be a challenge. Take the time to exude confidence that you've got everything under control and maybe follow up with a quick e-mail, especially if it's a long term boarder who is far away. I appreciate the Facebook page, it's a great way to convey to long term boarders that their pups are safe and happy! read more

My kitty, Imus, came to me after my sister died. He was pretty stand offish even after almost 8 months. I thought he was not a lap kitty. My husband and I had to go to Texas and I was not sure what to do w/Imus. I have seen Cedardale's sign every time I went into town, so I decided to try them as they were close to my house. I can't tell how pleased and grateful I was when I picked him up. He as a different cat. He wanted to be petted and loved, jumped up in my lap and stayed fro awhile. The staff cares for the animals. We have used Cedar Dale a few times to board our dogs & cat. It is very clean & the dogs have nice open areas to play in outside. The staff has always been friendly and their rates are reasonable. I never worry about my fur-babies when I'm away. I know they're in good hands. I know many people in the area who also board here, or use the grooming services, and they are all pleased as well. read more

This is the nicest, cleanest, most loving pet resort i have ever been to. (I really can't refer to this as a kennel .... It's a resort for your furry family member. The friendly staff was unbelievable.... Giving us a tour even though we came in 20 min before closing) and then when we picked up our pets, the owner was there and told us personal things about each of our dogs. ( "Maggie was so sweet.... All the staff loved her, Vito is such a beautiful dog, and our staff really worked w Vito to get him to come out of his shell. (He is very shy) and Vito really follows Mozzi around". ) The dogs didn't smell at all either. Other places I have been to the dogs reek when u pick up. I can't describe how great this place is. We LOVE THIS PLACE! We had to find another kennel for our little Laci after our current kennel owners retired and closed. After much searching and checking references we decided to try Cedar Dale and could not be happier! The staff is awesome! The kennels and play areas spotless and well maintained. Laci goes to day care a couple of times each week and comes home happily exhausted. We recently boarded her for a long weekend and are very pleased. She got a spa treatment the day we picked her up and her groomer did a great job on her 'do' and pedi. The owners know how to run a business - great staff, accommodating hours, and spotlessly clean environment for our fur baby. We are so happy to be part of the Cedar Dale family and know that we have found a place where our little girl will be safe and happy when she is not with us. read more

Have had my 3 dogs groomed there 3 times, 2 Airedales and my small Benji type mix, Micky. The first 2 times the Airedales, Herman and Ginna looked great. Yesterdays grooming results were not good for the Airedales. Perhaps a different groomer than before. However Micky looked great. Not sure I will return for a fourth time. read more

My 2 dogs just recieved the WORST hair cut ever. I have 2 Yorkies and they just came home shaved down looking like rats. Im very disgusted with you lack of ability to cut there are clipper lines left in their faces (which they also shaved to nothing after i requested you leave their beards) I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOGS BACK. :( The negative reviews just do not seem possible. I have been coming to Cedar Dale for around 1 year now. I have a Vizsla puppy that is high energy and they do a great job getting her tired for me, she goes to doggie daycare 2x's per week now. They have been nothing but nice to me and more than accommodating. Nicole, Shar and the team are very friendly, they are not there for social hour with us, they are there to take care of our pets (Hello: Cedar Dale PET Resort) not human social hour. I would really recommend not taking your dog to this pet resort. First, I was late picking up my dog by 20 minutes so I do understand that it's annoying to have to attend people when they're late however I had extenuating circumstances where I was not able to pick up my dog on time. When I got there there was absolutely nobody there. There was nobody working because they're closed for five hours on Sunday. They are closed from 10 until 3 PM. So that's five hours that these dogs are unattended. Well my dog cannot always make it five hours so right there you know that they are peeing and pooping in their kennels and living in that filth. I also confirmed this because Jabba's bone that the owner handed to me as we walked out me had poop all over it. So she was chewing on a bone with her own poop all over it. I also paid extra to have my dog join the doggy daycare which I was told was every other hour, the dogs were let out to play for an hour. So that's a lie because they close for five hours during the day. The man was extremely rude to me and told me when I picked up my dog. He accused me of lying and asked me if I was going to trespass on his property when I was trying to look for someone on the property that could give me my dog back. They charged a 30 late fee, which I can understand, but he was incredibly rude about it. Then, I gave them Jabba's bed and blanket for the kennel so she didn't have to sit on the cold cement. They didn't even use it. It was all packaged up and not in her kennel when I picked her up. I mean here are some basics, you have to have someone on site at all times that's willing to deal with customers and attend to the dogs. Clearly this guy was on site (in his house above the kennel) but he doesn't want to deal with customers and I was told at first that I couldn't have Jabba because "his staff wasn't here". So customer service was bad and he's not attending to the dogs. Definitely not giving any more business here. 2/20/17 - The owner response has a ton of falsehoods in it. First, the bone did have poop on it. Why would I just make that up? Second, I was not trying to pick a lock to get in. I went around the back to talk to someone because no one was picking up the phone and I needed to get my dog as I live out of town. I was calling out "HELLO?!" I don't think a thief would be trying to let everyone know that they were there. I don't even know how to pick a lock. LOL What a crock! IF someone was actually trying to break in you would have called the police, but nobody was. That's why the police were not called. This is comical it's so false. read more

Our high energy Good Shepherd mix puppy absolutely loves this place. She jumps out of the car and starts down the hall when she gets inside. A big advantage is the play time at fenced in dog park with green grass, friends her own size and supervision. It is clean, well organized with staff who are friendly and like dogs. My fuzzy terrier mix is my third child and I'm very protective...ask my vet. So finding a trustworthy place to leave him when we can't bring him with us was a difficult choice. I tried another place in the area and it was cluttered and the people weren't friendly. Never went back. I had several people, including my vet, recommend Cedardale. We started with grooming and were impressed with the transformation of scruffy to adorable! Then, we tried boarding. We got a tour of the very clean facilities with Huge outdoor play areas. When we picked him up, he was happy and healthy. Since then we have brought him for doggy daycare almost weekly for a year. I am always impressed with how friendly everyone is and how obvious it is that they care about animals. Everyone is very friendly and obviously really love animals. I know our dog isn't perfect and they treat him like family. Our dog is so excited to go to daycare that he waits by the door every morning and is so excited when I say "today is daycare!", he runs for the car, jumps in and wiggles all the way there. The staff is wonderful and the improvements that have been recently done under the new ownership really show how much everyone cares about my dog. I have been taking my pooch to this facility for the past year and come from Illinois because of the positive experiences I have had. At first I was nervous like anyone would be, leaving your beloved pet in the care of others, however that feeling quickly went away and I feel confident my pet is getting quality care. Previous comments regarding pick up times or drop off times are a bit ridiculous since this is a business and they have certain rules and regulations that customers need to abide by. Someone is at the facility at all times, however there are things that need to be done in the back area where the dogs are versus having a human being at the front desk 24/7. They provide a service and it is up to the customer to work around their hours of operation and the workers have a schedule and duties as well as a life of their own so when you are early or late picking up or dropping your pet off it isn't fair to criticize them of this. read more
