Even though the facility is quite small, it was able to handle quite large number of family and friends of the deceacesed. The service was memorable, and when having a lot of people in quite small place, the funeral director did a great job making sure there was enough seating for everyone, which became quite challenging at some times. I felt the funeral director was empathic and professional.

This amazing team is lead by an extrodinary woman who took the business over from her father.  She grew up in it, LOVES it, and is an accomplished practitioner who was appointed by Govenor Devale Patrick to serve on commissions that rewrote and reformed aspects of professional Funeral Service practices.   Her absolutely glowing spirit,  her commitment to excellence, and the empathy, care and compassion that she and each and every member of her very professional team afforded so effortlessly to me and my family really touched us.  She and her group made a very difficult time for us easier to bear. Additionally, I cannot speak highly enough about their newly renovated and expanded facility (just completed in January 2018). I have not seen a funeral home/parlor that really harkened back to the way funerals were traditionally produced - in the home of the family of the deceased.  You walk into that space, you feel warmth and comfort immediately.  The space is beautiful, vibrant and thoughtfully planned.  I am VERY particular.  This place was immaculate, down to the corners of their newly-renovated bathrooms, lol!  The chairs were all spotless, everything is brand new and carefully maintained.  You really felt like you were walking into the home and parlor of a family friend. Again, this establishment (African American run and family-owned) really sets a high bar as far as service delivery, event planning and execution are concerned.  I really cannot recommend them highly enough.  My family and I will forever be grateful for how beautiful they made our Mum's service.  Everyone said that she, who raised me to be particular and appreciative of quality, would have loved how all was handled.  When we feel sad about her not being here with us anymore, that fact really does bring me and my Sisters a great deal of peace.

I never received a call back. I had enough, I saved all call logs for three weeks to speak with owner, absolutely unprofessional behavior from such. Never in the office and/or screens calls she doesn't want to answer if in office. Over 35 years ago family stone was purchased, followed by engraving twenty years ago. Business was owned and operated by the parent, last 10 or so daughter has taken over I'm told. That would explain why there is NO business ethics that I see. By not responding to me and giving a courtesy call to explain why you would proceed with engraving on the stone after it was done six months earlier and the answer is clear, one has to prepay in full and get on the wait list for an engraving order. Order was placed by out of state family member, and Elizabeth took payment. After calling three other companies to inquire if they received order for engraving and was told no, along with them saying their engraver's call the office whenever they arrived at cemeteries and have questions. It's common sense that any reputable business would do the same when you see the job has been done. So here we have an engraver show up to the stone at cemetery and can see the deceased name is already on stone, but instead of stopping, he engraves the deceased name on the opposite side. Now we have to pay for removal. See there are no refunds in any case with this new owner. Once she gets your money, if there are ANY changes or problem you will lose it. Nobody can believe a business would do such a thing like this. Business ethics be damn, hope this helps some people during a difficult time with their decision, there are at least three other local businesses, with real customer service that can use computers, take your calls and call you back, with very reasonable estimates, who would NEVER have done something like this, also are in the office for you to reach them.

People need to be responsible it is not the funeral home fault your loved one did not have insurance. This is a company not charity. You write the obituary they do not know your loved ones in the world of msoffice that have spell check. Staff is excellent as always shout to Ms.Angie, Ms. Charlotte and Mr. Steven for your impeccable service. No one lives forever twenty or forty bucks a month for an insurance policy would not hurt if your young or mid-age. Do your part and be a responsible person put money away for your funeral or purchase a policy. They are a business like all the other funeral homes. Some do not even be bothered with you if you have no insurance policy. Thank GOD we still have JB let's help keep them in the community.

This process is never easy but it was a relief to speak with someone who was well versed and willing to help.
