The website photos are deceptive. Camper beware! Sites are extremely small and close to your neighbors. You pay $45-$55 to stay in a trailer park. When we arrived, our site was occupied by a tent, that hid our joint electrical box and was connected to the tent and another pop up camper. Of course, no one answered the phone, texted the host. No response of any kind, so we left. Eventually, a very rude campground host texted me stating he would not apologize for my inconvenience. $45 wasted again on another deceptive business model that portends to be legitimate. Don't bother going here, you'll be disappointed and duped by the root of all evil-money. This is a gravely depreciated campground with unprofessional and discourteous staff that in no way reflects the title of their campground. Once they have your money, don't bother them! Sound familiar? Avoid this place. read more

This is for the RV Park.... What a great find close to all things Chicago, Lake Michigan, Cedar Lake and yummy food (lighthouse restaurant). We really enjoyed our stay, spots are level and the area is super quiet. The bathrooms are clean but really need an update and the showers in the restrooms only have a single shower curtain between you a whoever walks into the restrooms. WiFi didn't work at all in the back of the park but we still enjoyed the nice relaxing sounds of nature. Definitely stop here if you're in the area. Online reservation is perfect and you get to pick your spot. Thank you. read more

We came back to the RV Park this year, 2016 and are here for the whole season. A few great improvements this year: 1. Kayaks are now free for campers to use. Only drawback they are only available once per week (Saturdays from 1p-5p), but none the less its an improvement! 2. Bathrooms much cleaner this year, not updated, but certainly the cleaning crew came more often. 3. I am currently talking to the Operations Director about possibly keeping the campground open for the winter season. There are many other campgrounds in this region that stay open and Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park is one of the nicest and closest to Chicago. We'll see what they decide. read more

Cedar Lake Ministries RV park is conveniently located 30 miles outside of Chicago. A world away from the hustle and noise of the city, it made a perfect retreat after a weekend exploring Chicago. The campground is quiet and peaceful and the sites are relatively large. I would stay here again if in the area. read more

I attended the picnic on June 1 at Cedar Lake Ministries, hoping for a good time. However, I will not be sending my daughter there anymore. I was approached by a staff member who said he was on year round staff. He began flirting with me and wanted to have my number....at a Christian family event. I am a young mom, about his age of 25/26 and this just was not acceptable. Not only this, it seemed very disorganized. I will not be returning. read more

If you are looking for a great place to have a conference, retreat, reunion or any function where you'll need meeting areas, on-site lodging & dining, and a gorgeous natural wooded lake setting - this is the place. Close enough to Chicago, but far enough to feel "away from it all". You can relax and let their staff take care of you! Amazing food. Everything you need for a successful event is there. Historic auditorium with large windows all around is perfect venue for an "outdoor" wedding. Beach & pier and lake frontage, beach volleyball. Tennis courts. Very large diningroom/restaurant with windows on three sides up on a bluff, panoramic views of the lake. I'd say this is probably the "Best Kept Secret in NW Indiana"!! read more
