I moved into this complex in August of 2024. I should have recognized the ref flag when I was items from my pod and saw roaches. After completely unpacking and relaxing in my recliner, a roach showed up on the arm rest. This roach infested complex also houses shady people, the police are on site often. If you chooses to live at this roach motel, be sure to pay your rent early with out delay..........................they will evict you but not the roaches! read more

We moved into these apartments because they were affordable and in an area we liked. I have found the staff to be mostly helpful and genuinely nice. But I believe the management team is limited by the funds released to them from the owners. The potholes in the streets around the apartment complex are huge and have only continued to grow over the year and a half we have lived there. I understand that things need to happen in stages, but very little has been done to repair the roads since we moved in. The video I uploaded shows one section of the road... and it's not even the worst of the issues. The biggest pothole is actually in front of our building; there are actual small boulders coming out of it daily that we all drive around. It is clear that the owners don't live in the complex. And since the streets are private, the city apparently can't do anything about it. It is the eyesore of Lake Saint Louis. read more

The air conditioning unit doesn't cool the apartment down. I think the heat just vents into the crawl space which only heats up the apartment. If you look around you will see people have window ac units. That's very rare for any apartment complex. The front door near the mailboxes has been broken forever so the door never closes. This allows all sorts of insects to enter the stairwell area all day and nights. Brown recluse spiders are impossible to get rid of. When you see at least one a week then you know you have an infestation that won't ever be resolved. read more

This place is not managed well in the slightest. My a/c never worked properly and it ran up the utility bills. I requested maintenance multiple times and the problem was never fixed but they lost the spare key to my apartment multiple times which was very unsettling since I was living by myself as a young female. The shower wall caved in near the faucet from mold and instead of taking out the old wall they patched it. The pot holes are absolutely terrible. At one point my car was stolen and there aren't cameras in the parking lot. Despite the police station being a mile down the road, they don't patrol. When I did move out, they charged me for bogus reasons on the move out statement totaling $1300. The main issue being carpet. They sent me photos and said the carpet in the apartment was discolored. It just needed vacuumed. I told them I didn't have a chance to vacuum when I moved out. They also tried to charge me for not paying the last months pro rated rent. I paid that a month before I even moved out. And tried to charge me for not turning in keys. Which I did. The door to the main entrance of the apartment building didn't close all the way, this led to there being lots of bugs. Not to mention, the rent is extremely overpriced. e lived at Cedar Lakes Apartments for two years. I have had nothing but a terrible experience. From air-conditioner problems, to repeated maintenance issues, to unaddressed bug infestation's, to absolutely deplorable property managers... AND I pay for the "premium" apartment. The "nicest" apartment they offer. I literally came home to 23 dead nasty bugs in my dining room (mind you I keep a very tidy house) and they told me I was difficult and that they would get to it when they wanted. THE PROPERTY MANAGER Chosen Long said that and then hung up on me. Unbelievable. Almost inhumane living conditions for over $1,000 a month. The conclusion was that they evicted me for requesting too much maintenance. UNREAL! But I'm happy to leave that crap hole. Please, PLEASE look elsewhere. read more

The management of Cedar Lakes lacks professionalism. I delivered two rent checks on the first of the month(one mine, one my girlfriend's), somehow one got lost. I understand mistakes happen. I was not ever called, my girlfriend was not called, no letter was ever sent to us until the 18th of the month threatening with same-day eviction if $400 was not paid immediately. In the notice it said numerous contacts have been made and this was the final. It was most definitely the first notice received, and it was asking for rent that was already given. When I called to resolve this and explained the letter I had I was met with a tone and a "yeah... That's what happens if you don't pay your rent, you get evicted." When this was met with the expression "no shit" I was hung up on saying they would "not be cussed at." So, check gets lost, no call, no letters until final eviction notice and then hanging up when attempting to resolve it. In the end there was no apology, the closet thing I got to a sorry for losing the check and threatening with taking my home away was "we are both are responsible" and that I should keep a better track of my checkbook to make sure checks get cashed. read more

I have lived here for roughly 6 months. So far it has been great. The front office has always been great. The maintenance staff is wonderful. I wanted to block off my patio so that I could let my dog outside. I was unable to find a baby gate wide enough without spending over 100.00. The maintenance man built me a gate. I didn't ask he just did because I put in a concern. Could not say anything better about living here so far. read more

Just wanted to provide future renters with a preview so they know what to expect upon arrival. Upon moving in, we filled out a questionnaire on the condition of the apartment. None of the items we listed were ever fixed. For example....... My granddaughter almost fell through the porch guard rail. Their solution was to put a nail in the rotting board to hold it in place instead of replacing it. The valve to the hot water in the laundry couldn't shut off. The toilet tank always leaked and they would "band-aid" the problem instead of replacing it. The floor in front of the sliding glass door was weak & sunk in when we moved in & it was never tended to. I then refused to pay my rent until all these issues were fixed and they sued me instead of fixing the problems. The office after we had all utilities switched over refused to contact AUM to let them know not to charge us any longer.......and it cost me over $3800 to alleviate the situation. All in all my experience here was horrible and I would never recommend this wretched complex to anybody. read more
