Our small group started with miniature pony brushing and then got to dress up their animals in various accessories. From there they got on smaller horses with a guide leading them and learned basic skills, like stopping (whoa) and had a lot of fun riding around the enclosed area circle. They even played a few games like red light green light. After that they learned to walk with the miniature ponies and even got to take them over a jump and through an obstacle course. We then finished the day with a little carriage ride with the owner, Paige. The highlight of their visit (they said later) was learning to clean out a horse stall. Who knew they loved cleaning so much! All of the guides were wonderful. The main gal that did the instructing was just so lovely and sweet to the kids explaining everything with patience. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for this kind of experience in the area.

I came to a silent Bookclub event here last week called Pages with Ponies and just had to come check it out. I loved that they were able to roam around us and we could pet them. I did get some reading done and it's very peaceful here. After we finished reading we were able to make a bowl of food to feed the horses and ponies. This was a unique experience. Some things to know when traveling to get here make sure you turn on 10655 Katy Hockley Rd. There's a black mailbox that has an arrow to turn there. Do it because I missed it the first time and it was pain to u-turn on this tiny road. It's a bumpy road and parking was limited for our party but we made it work. I enjoyed my time here.

Nestled in close to the Renaissance Fair and downtown Magnolia, this was the perfect place; close to our home. Setting up the appointment for a lesson was quick and painless; used facebook messenger to work out the best time. Prices varied, depending on the type of lesson, were very reasonable, and all proceeds went back to the horses on the ranch. I would quickly learn that everyone is a volunteer, as this home is for horses rescued & rehabilitated from someone the harshest circumstances. We arrived to meet with Niki, owner and operator. She was an amazing guide and teacher. She and her son helped explain everything to my wife and I prior to mounting our amazing rides; Gunner & Hershey. They were both very patient with our questions, taking safety very important. Best part of the experience was enjoying the ride without having to take any photos. Niki did all of this for us without having to worry, and sent us all of the amazing pics after the ride. All and all, the hour or two we spent here was very special and we will soon not forget it. Highly recommend a visit if in town for a visit, or even living close by. Helping these amazing animals was the best thing ever!

Each child guest had an opportunity to ride a horse before the food & cake cutting. The stable hands were very helpful and friendly. They ended the day by painting the ponies' sides on the property (paint washes off and is harmless to the animals). There are also a few friendly dogs on the property that interacted with us. For first impressions Javier and Begonia (owners) were so welcoming. Made you feel like part of the family. They do have a decent facility. Could it use some upgrades, yes. But for the price it is ok. I will try not to turn this into a book. We enjoyed the place so much that we purchased an amazing horse through the trainer (not creekside) but we chose to board our horse there. We paid for three months in advance of boarding and for the first month things were ok. Then it got very bad very quickly. Our horse was not being fed on a regular basis. The verbal agreements that were made for paying lessons up front for an entire month were all of the sudden no longer ok. Overall if you do any business with this boarding and lesson facility make sure you get any arrangements in writing. This was our mistake. We tried to resolve our issues but it was not very important to Creekside to keep our business. The owner has many horses of his own that are in stalls and those horses are most definitely cared well for. The owner cares more about his own personal dressage riding than any of his boarders or riding school students. They have a high turnover for the help that is hired and staff/workers are not properly trained to deal with horses. They don't have nor do they verify proper vet records on these horses. They don't have properly managed deworming. They are not organized. We finally had to leave because of the lack of care for our horse, we had to leave without notice due to the worry for the care of our horse. When I informed the owners why we were leaving they did respond professionally and did say they would issue a refund for the last month we had paid in advance for. We left towards the end of October and this is December and no check received. I waited this long to write my review. Just a final warning if you arrange anything with this place get it in writing, and closely monitor your horse that it is being properly cared for on a daily basis.

They told us she would be starting in 4 weeks time because she was 3rd on the list. No problem. They said they would call when it was time. Called back in 5 weeks. The person who answered seemed annoyed at my inquiry, and stated "we have a pretty big show coming up in 2 weeks, she won't be starting until after that". Again, she indicated someone would contact us after the show was over. 3 more weeks went by, made another call, left a message, no response. Another few days, another message, no response. I just don't understand how you can ghost a 10 year old after telling her she can train but then repeatedly delaying her start date. If you can't accommodate, why not just say that upfront instead of getting a kids hopes up? I understand busy, but the blatant disrespect for other people's time, especially where a child is concerned, is just a huge let down.

Learned that the Freeman family were one of the first families to live here in Katy Texas and soon found out they had a high school here named after them. Was promoted to do more research, which of course led me to their ranch ! Seemingly enough I've always wanted to ride horses so I got in contact with the owner and he offered to give me a tour and ride a horse. He was a very kind and welcoming man and gave such a cool tour. Such a fun experience and definitely didn't expect the whole venture to be so smooth, thanks to Mr. Derek and his crew.

This is a first impression review from our first visit with Sally…read more We just moved to the area and are looking for a place where my daughter can ride. Having been riding for the last seven years (since she was four), the hardest part of the move has been not being able to ride. Sally was very accommodating allowing her to try out a class alongside her Wednesday horse club class. Our experience was amazing. I truly appreciated how Sally respected my daughter's riding style and did not try to make her ride any other way. She gave her feedback throughout the lesson and adjusted technique when needed. She also explained things my daughter seemed to be clueless about (it happens!) She was kind and respectful and her facility is lovely. My daughter is more interested in cutting and reining, which doesn't seem to be common round here. Until we find such a place, I think we are where we need to be. Looking forward to future lessons.
