We have brought pets here multiple times and received acceptable care in the past. Fast forward to December 2025, when we noticed a mass on our dog. Went in to see Dr. Douglas who felt it was scar tissue from an injury. Sent us home with an anti inflammatory and antibiotics. 14 days after the meds were gone, we called and advised the mass had not shrunk. We came in and paid for a biopsy but the vet could not get one. We were told it was scar tissue from an unknown injury and nothing to worry about. $500 total with no biopsy. We since got a second opinion, and the dog has Cancer. When we followed up with Dr, Douglas, the receptionist said the surgeon who is there once a week was indeed concerned after relooking at the picture. There were lots of mixed signals and we could have lost our dog. We would not return to this Dr. read more

Mandatory blood work that was not told to me over the phone, X-rays that were not told to me over the phone. I've never been so mad at a vet in my life. Called my regular vet and it's $450. My dog was abused before I adopted her. Because of this she is very timid and scared of people. Cedar Park Animal Clinic has been very accommodating to her needs over the past couple of years, but not today. Today, our experience started out like normal. The receptionist let me pick her up and take her to the scale to weigh her as normal. Then the tech came from the back for her checkup and took the leash out of my hand and started dragging my dog to the scale. I was caught off guard and said, "what are you doing?" She replied, "getting her weight." When i told her we already got her weight, she proceeded to try and drag my dog to the back. My dog freaked out and pulled out of her collar. Then while Im putting it back on and trying to calm my dog, she walks back out with a leash that wraps around their neck and pulls tight. While i'm asking, "Can i just go back with her?" and being ignored, she puts this leash on my dog and starts dragging her to the back and my dog is freaking out. I had to physically grab the leash and stop the lady from choking my dog and take it off her neck. I then hold her i wasn't happy with our interactions and her treatment of my dog and that if i can't come back with her we're leaving. She relented and let me walk my dog into a room. Once in the room, she came back in but this time with another man. Meanwhile my dog had jumped into my lap scared to death of what just happened. This man then tried to take my dog off my lap and when i stopped him and told him no, I would hold her, he told me that wasn't going to happen and tried to take my dog again. I again said no and he said "it's policy." I then asked to talk to the Vet and he told me that he's the manager and what he says goes. I guess the vets answer to this fat man. After telling both of them I've never had an issue before here, they told me they didn't care and this is the way it was. At this point i had enough and walked out with my dog. Quickly gave me a quote on cremation for individual and group. They even sent someone to my car with me to carry KC inside. In less than 5 days I had him back in a beautiful rosewood box. I went to another vet who quoted me $1,500 to remove my dog's cyst. It was benign but on top of his head. Poor dude would always love getting pet but people would comment about the bump. I learned about cryotherapy in a Facebook group I'm on. Basically they freeze it and it'll scab up/fall off. This was the closest vet that I'd seen who offered cryotherapy versus cutting it and stitching shut. I figured it was less painful too. Went in, they said he was a good candidate. Gave me helpful info. Place was super clean. The bill was in the low hundreds not thousands like I'd previously been quoted. Three weeks passed, his scab fell off and he had a perfect head again. I was amazed and relieved we didn't have to do a second round. These people know what they're doing, they care and don't try to take an arm and a leg. Thanks so much for taking care of my sweet boy. I decided to give CP Animal Clinic another try due to their closeness to my house. However, despite the update to their physical setting (which is very nice), the service was still disappointing. I never knew the name of the vet who finally saw us after 40 min in the exam room. He was an older tall man. My dog had a large lesion on her outer ear, partially obscured by matted hair due to drainage. I was also concerned about scabs on the corners of her mouth, and crustiness around her eyes. He never touched my goldendoodle, did not clean or touch the lesion, or examine her mouth. Instead he glanced at it, pronounced it 'probably a sebaceous cyst' and said he would send it an estimate of removal ($1200--won't be doing that!) if I wanted to go that route. He indicated I could shave her to keep her mouth and eyes from crusting. I got her vaccinations and anal glands expressed. The bill was $174, which I found unreasonable for the poor vet service. The rudest staff ever!! I made an appointment on Friday to have my dogs eyes checked on Monday since they didn't have any openings sooner. When I got there they rudely informed me it was a tech visit and offered me to wait an hour and a half and " maybe I'd get seen by a Doctor. No I'm sorry about the confusion or anything. No hello or goodbye by the receptionist when I walked in and out. The only reason I even stayed with them was because of Dr. Thompson. I have meet several rude staff complained before. 2of my dogs needed surgery and neither time could they do it and sent me to a high dollar firehouse to do it where one of my dogs died. I have been using this clinic since the 90's. They have done nothing but give quality care to all of the animals I have taken to them over the years. Dr. Thompson and Dr. Valle are exceptional vets. From my special needs cat Picasso to my blind dog Zena. So please take it from someone who uses them all of the time and not these one time visits who give them one star. Their staff hasn't been rude to me. Especially the ones who have been there a long time. They are all caring and helpful. Sometimes you get what you give too. I am never rude when trying to get help for my fur babies. Right now they are helping me with a tough allergy issue with my Zena. She is trying to eat her tail off. Remember animals can't talk so sometimes getting their conditions identified and possibly cured isn't an easy task. Sadly sometime they die. I have had that happen but I don't fault the vet. I was gonna knock off a star because when I made the appointment, the receptionist had a bad attitude..... but I forgive her because when today, the people behind the scenes made up for it. The vet techs were awesome (I think that's what they are called) and the veterinarian was also really nice. All very sweet to the pooch, she had a pretty knarly ear infection that was nice and disgusting... we had to hug her to get a sample, super nasty brown ickies came out... ewwwwww anyway so then they got a sample from the other ear as well even though it looked completely clean, sure enough she had a yeast and bacterial infection and some traces of yeast and Bactria in other year. They came back with a reasonable treatment plan, 65$ for office visit 55$ for the ear medication. Then we had to actually clean out her ear and put in the drops.... she was in pain and scared but she's a really good girl. I held her head and kissed her and the two gentlemen doing it were also hugging and comforting her. I'll cut to the chase...We've been customers for over 18 years. All my dogs have been patients of Dr. Thompson. His partner Dr. Douglas is a neanderthal. 9 years ago we brought our puppy in, Dr. Thompson was not available and our puppy was seen by DOUGLAS. During the exam he pinched our puppy behind the neck causing the expected reaction. We asked why he would pinch a puppy, his response-"To test him to see if he's aggressive." He then handed us a card for dog training to deal with our dogs aggressive behavior. What a sales pitch? What a jerk? To top things off he puts in the dog records that our dog is aggressive. We never said another word to this man- Dr. Douglas. On this day a few weeks back all we wanted was to purchase heart guard for our dogs. We called the clinic and was given the run around for over an hour by an employee named "Haley." All we wanted was them to price match Costco or give us a script so we can purchase the heart guard ourselves elsewhere. They have always price matched. The clinic was closing in 45 minutes so as we held we told them we were headed in before they close. The employee found the records of price matching from months before but they still needed to call Costco. Also, we were told that approval from a doctor was necessary. We drove to the clinic-still on the phone. An hour later-still no heart guard . We walked into the clinic and Haley acted as if she didn't know who we were. According to another worker, the clinic has no doctor and or office manager. Now we were being told they cant find any records of our dog. Needless to say they were wrong. We recently boarded our dog with them. So you tell me- were the deliberately trying to upset us or where they truly this incompetent? Unsure...But, they seemed to enjoy displaying their lack of interest in our needs. Now the employee said we can't get our prescription until we pay for another heart worm test. I asked if the test was mandatory, her reply was "No" but if you want to purchase the meds elsewhere, yes. So if you want your prescription you must pay for a test. What a racket! Eventually, another employee stated that she spoke to Dr. Douglas(our favorite dog pincher) and he has approved the selling of the prescription and the taking of our $123.00 dollars. Wow- weren't we lucky. I felt so happy to give this outfit my hard earned money for 75 minutes of hell and disrespect they've just put us through. Oh yes the incompetent employee finally located our records and of course had an excuse blaming us why she couldn't locate the records. Another employee now stated with sarcasm-"You'll never have to go through this again." We then scheduled an appointment for our dog for shots and a heart-worm test the following week. A week later we went in and paid another 140 dollars for the office visit and their mandatory tests. Nothing was said and everyone was pleasant. The following week we receive a letter from our favorite doctor- Dr. Douglas stating, we were no longer welcome at their business. Wow- what a shock. They mistreat loyal customers and now this. Well we decided to call Dr. Thompson and discuss our mistreatment. We have seen him for over 18 years. We left 3 messages in 15 days, no return call. Bottom line this place doesn't understand what loyalty and respect is. You're just another number. I'll admit we were upset after the run around they put us through. We were upset at the incompetence of their employees. We were upset that no doctor could be found at the clinic. We were upset that no officer manager could step up and do the right thing. We were upset at the sarcasm displayed by their employees. But, we never cussed and or raised our voices. We were respectful, but obviously annoyed. I have already spread the word to family and friends. Please do your research. There are so many places in the Cedar Park and Leander area. You don't need to be mistreated at Cedar Park Animal Clinic (CPAC). They also own Affordable Pet Care in Cedar Park, second location, same people. I will spread the word through all SocialMedia platforms and word of mouth. Also, I volunteer with many dog organizations and will refer elsewhere. See picture below-Letter sent to me after 18 years. NOTE: Dr. Thompson finally called us back 18 days later. His reply was I'm sorry but I'll have to side with my partner, Dr. Douglas on this one. I have to keep a good working relationship with him. Everyone takes such great care of the animals and they love them as if they where their own. Mercedes passed away a week ago today. Two months ago, we had to let our sweet dog go. Dr. Jenkins, Jeannie, and the rest of the staff provided the best care I could have ever asked for. I'm surprised to see some of these negative reviews, because my experience has always been great. They treated us like family, and I'm forever grateful that they made our final moments with our boy so loving and peaceful. Both Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Thompson have always recommended the most thorough, yet cost-effective, care for our animals, and Jeannie is basically a dog whisperer. When our animals are sick, Jeannie always calls a few days later to check in. We have another old dog, and he hates everyone...except Jeannie (and he even tolerates the doctors!). We have been bringing our pets to Cedar Park Animal clinic for years. When one of my dogs was coming to the end of his life we brought her there to assist us. We liked this vet and the staff. We have always had pets and have struggled finding a vet that had compassion. We understand that its a business and never had a problem paying for their service. When the past vets becomes more about business and less about compassion, we move on to another vet. We thought we finally found one with Cedar Park Animal clinic. We still have 4 animals and use them for all of them, including our 14 year old pit bull lab. We know he is at the end of his life and, all we are trying to do is make the last days/ months as comfortable as possible. besides being old, he is pretty healthy. as with all large animals he does have a lot of pain when he get up. All we would like is go give him pain pills. We have been giving him pain pills for the last year. We explain the situation with this Vet and they did wave the blood work for a year. understanding the issues. We did have to bring him to the vet to get his rabies shot about a month ago, and struggled to get him and out of the car. The vet knew about the yearly exam was coming up, but did not say anything. Now they are telling us we need to do it all over again to continue the pain meds. Where is the compassion. last month they understood and agreed to continue the pain meds. Now its about licensing and procedure. all i want is for my 14 year old dog to finish out his life as painless as possible. I don't want to have to make unnecessary trips to the vet. My cat is ill with a urinary blockage. Sadly, he had this 2 yrs ago and was treated by this vet, and so I came back to where he was last successfully treated. Made an appt in the morning for 3pm, got in early at 2:45 pm and wasn't seen by the doctor until 3:45. :/ Sadly, something has changed here since last time, as the only thing it seemed these people cared about is how high can they get the bill, (this was so graciously explained by the nurse that prices have been raised due to the economy?!?!?! It almost seemed they were desperate for money to me.), and that they need half right now $400.00 and if they hold a check for 4 days they will need to charge us an additional 50.00, because the bank charges them to hold a check and that would be comparable to them extending credit to us!!!!!!!!!!!!! UN-BELIEVABLE &%^$#$%^&!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, thanks. Went immediately to a different hospital - we were seen right away, treated as if we were people - not dollar signs -, we were quoted 320.00, signed a "realistic" estimate and payment is not due until pick-up. My cat is currently being treated as we speak. The only bright spot (if there even was one) was the woman doctor we momentarily dealt with. The nurse/assistant must be used to talking with idiots spouting off the "explanations" she was offering. I would say she single handedly turned the whole thing sour on top of the 50.00 to hold a check. We WERE an established patient and to be treated as if we are trying to con someone out of services was quite offensive! I think the whole preying on people who are distraught with an ill pet is unconscionable and for that very reason I will NEVER, EVER be back. I most certainly will make sure that evryone knows as well. ** I also see another review was deducted a star for quoting a price and then having it be a higher amount at pick-up. We made an appointment with CPAC after our pup developed a minor skin condition. We have been clients of Affordable on Lakeline so it seemed like the best option for us after hearing great reviews. Our pup struggles with some pretty serious anxiety at the vet, and when I set up the appointment, the clinic took time to schedule a phone call to make sure they could meet Luna's needs at the appointment. They went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and safe with a blanket, pheromone bandana, and treats. We visited with Dr. Vallee who took her time to get to know Luna and acclimate her to the space, sitting with her on the floor and feeding her treats. We have never had such a pleasant experience with a vet. We will definitely be coming back to see Dr. Vallee at CPAC. It is worth every penny. read more

I visited this clinic about 5 months ago to get my pug neutered and they were fantastic. My pug, like most, had a few weird issues like extra teeth and needed them pulled. They offered to do it while he was down which helps from having to terrify him twice so that was good. Their pricing is very reasonable. Compared to my last vet it was a steal! However, that's not to say the care wasn't superb, because it totally was. They were thorough; told me every single detail about the operation, provided a copy of his vitals while he was down, and provided a prescription already broken into correct dosages for my dogs size. I was impressed! I've been going to a clinic in Round Rock, whom I will not name, that charged twice as much and never did I receive much but a huge bill for questionable blood testing. You know, the whole used car salesman pitch and being the clueless consumer we are placing trust in total strangers with thing we love. Sorry for the rant! Anyhow, that didn't happen here and in short I appreciate this clinic for offering a proper service, at an affordable price, plus all the bells and whistles! read more

We will not be back. I am writing this to warn anyone that is thinking of taking their animals here. Be careful! They will pass the buck, not apologize and charge you a $65 office visit, even if they are to blame for your animal getting sick. My family has used Cedar Park Animal Clinic for years to board our animals, and have never had a bad experience. That unfortunately has changed as of today. I boarded my dog, Gracie Lou, from 7/20 to 7/23. We picked her up late on the 23rd. As soon as we picked her up she began to cough. Not your normal cough but a raspy and loud cough. She was coughing for a long period of time (2 -3 minute fits), refusing to eat, and seems extremely lethargic. I called in this afternoon to inquire about them having any recent reports of Kennal Cough. Juliette stated that she hasn't heard of any cases, but would check with her fellow techs and veterinarian. She called back about 5 minutes later and informed me that there were no reports, and stated that there was no way our dog would have gotten Bordatella from them. Juliette stated that it had an incubation period of 7 to 14 days and that with Gracie Lou only being there since the 20th it wouldn't be from them. She began to question me on where our dog had been, our living situation and what other animals she had been in contact with. I felt Juliette was very accusatory and very unapologetic. She, and the man coaching her on what to say, were very clearly not willing to take blame that the facility potentially gave my dog Bortatella. I ended up contacting my primary veterinarian and was told that the incubation period for Bordatella is 2 to 14 days, NOT 7 to 14 like Juliette had previously informed me. I was advised to monitor Gracie Lou and to bring her in if her cough gets worse or lasts for more than 2 or 3 weeks. I will update this post if I get a formal diagnosis from our primary veterinarian. read more

We took our two dogs for a wellness exam. Our recently adopted rescue dog Buddy was so scared he was shaking, but Dr. Douglas and Joan took time to put him at ease. Three days after I moved to the Austin area, my eight year old golden retriever became very ill... He was vomiting, lethargic and not interested in food or water at all. I found Cedar Park Animal Clinic on Yelp and called to make an appointment. They were able to see my dog the same day, which was a relief... He had swallowed two tennis balls - one was bouncing around in his stomach, the other was spherical in shape and was lodged in his small intestine. He had to go in for emergency stomach surgery to have the objects removed. The doctors (Dr. D and Dr. S), technicians (Lauren) and staff at Cedar Park Animal Clinic were helpful, understanding and very descriptive about the procedure and care my dog needed. I was at the affiliate office, Affordable Pet Care. Dr Thompson (my vet at Cedar Park Animal Clinic) found 2 large growths while conducting a routine vet visit. He suggested surgery and wrote a price quote. The surgery was performed by Dr Erika Neeley. She did an excellent job: removed the growths which THANKFULLY were lipomas, suctioned out extra fat, put in a drain, stitched his chest 6 inches, and compassionately explained the work she performed while, petting my dog and showing me the actual removed lumps. Dr Neeley explained the importance of my dog taking off weight (changing his diet) and getting exercise! Dr Neeley also booked 3 caring, laser procedure follow up visits which included all medication for less than the original price quote!!! The entire staff, Leslie, Cyndi, Alex and Britney were EXCEPTIONAL, checking my dog in and out of the clinic!!! P.S. Leslie understood my concern of finding cancer. Leslie went above and beyond her duties; during the entire procedure Leslie kept me informed via phone calls. I was at peace by her explanation of the length of time and what procedures entailed. After the 3 hour surgery, Dr. Neeley told Leslie the lumps were lipomas, Leslie rang me to share the great outcome! read more
