It's good for that sort of thing because you can mingle but also go take a seat and enjoy the game if you like. I really enjoyed it here because it's a relaxing evening, seats are good, and there's a little hilly lawn that people can go sit in to the far left of the left field seats (usually kids). Prices aren't bad for concessions. You won't be seeing MLB-related teams here; the Corn Crib belongs to Heartland Community College and hosts collegiate summer teams. A few other sports use the stadium, too.

Parking was a bit chaotic --prepare for a long wait along Raab Rd. as you get into the lot. Somehow, once in and paying the $2, it was a quick zip to a spot. I wonder if they might find a way to streamline this in the future. Getting in and getting seated is a breeze. Stadium is new so everything is very nice. Prices are fair enough, staff mostly volunteers I believe, and a decent enough selection of food and drink for a ballpark. They may still be getting their stride, but it's a good facility, a great sport to have in town, and well worth several summer visits. My only word of caution is for anyone unfamiliar with the farm leagues --they seem to play at about half the pace of the majors. You may be in for a long night --if anything more bang for the buck (yawn) right?

Now, if you put me in a situation where I am watching a game in person, then we can talk. Which is what happened on this very night. My job was giving away free Peoria Chiefs baseball tickets. I snagged some for a friend but they ended up not being able to go. So, what was I going to do with 4 free tickets to a baseball game? Why not use them myself? It did take some convincing and bugging of my friends to get them to go as none of us are sports fans. We may not be in to sports but we are in to adventures. This was my first time at Dozer Park but I had been to this stadium once or twice as a kid to watch a baseball game. I remember sitting here for a baseball game in 5th grade, I think, while wearing black shorts in the summer sun. My legs did not appreciate that one bit. Luckily there was no repeat of that as the sun was setting as the game got started. Actually, now that I am looking at the Wikipedia page, this stadium was not the same one I visited as a kid. It appears this was a new one built around 2002 (I would've been in high school at this point). I'll leave this in as a small anecdote. The baseball game was baseball-y. But the stadium itself was actually really nice. Since it was built fairly recently, everything still had an updated and modern feeling to it. There were concession stands located throughout the area where you can purchase your overpriced pretzels and waters. The only real negative I have to say about Dozer Park is the parking situation. From what I could gather, you either take a chance of parking along the street or find a parking spot somewhere else and walk to the stadium. I believe there is a small parking lot nearby but do not quote me on that as I've only ever parked along the road when I've been here. (Only other time I was here was for beerfest, so I was more a passenger, but still took notice.) Honestly, the ticket prices are cheap enough that incorporating a baseball game or two during the summer is a good way to get out and enjoy life. Who knows, maybe you'll catch a ball, win a t-shirt from a t-shirt cannon or meet the mascot.

We went up there 2x's and everyone was so nice, please and thank you's every time! The prices were average prices. Food, prices and employees were all great! Thirsty Thursday drafts were $2, just mentioning this even though my husband and I don't drink. Just noting it since I seen other comments saying how expensive everything was. We had a completely different experience! Parking was free! Concession stands and bathrooms were so close to everything. Shopping was easy and fun too! I highly recommend this place!

We had campsite 32, which provided a decent amount of tree cover and wasn't too far to walk to the restrooms. Mosquitoes were out of control, so be sure to pack proper clothes and a metric ton of bug spray. There were two vault toilets available in our loop - no running water there. Also no light inside, which is an adventure. Our picnic table was covered in bird poop and other debris from nearby trees. I'm used to roughing it, but this table was as bad as I've seen in a park. Maybe a lack of rain left it in such bad condition. I recommend bringing your own chairs and table if you can. The restrooms with running water were pretty disgusting. Why does every camp bathroom reek of urine? Do we not have functional plumbing in these things? Are guys just hosing down the entire building with piss and refusing to flush? It's insane. There was one very empty soap dispenser available and only warm/hot water coming from the faucet. Of course, you can't control your neighbors at a campground. Most folks were keeping themselves under control, but one group was watching a basketball game or something and the sound of the ref's whistle echoed throughout the camp. I understand that's not the campground's fault. It was disappointing to hear traffic while at the campground. I go camping to get away from it all. This was unfortunate. I might return to Illini State Park if I need a place to crash, but there was nothing special about this place other than its relative proximity to Starved Rock (which had no available campsites the day I was headed there). If you need firewood, you can grab some at the Shell station not far away at 1441 Columbus St, Ottawa, IL 61350.

This place is great! 15$ a night (10$ with a 5$ service fee online) You just pull up to your spot when you get there. They offer very private sites along with some sites in the open. Sites 90-95 & 98-101 are all great spots if you want some privacy. There's a small town with some cafes and bars just over the bridge so less than a mile away. Such a great spot & very relaxing.

We celebrated my 120 pound weight loss by skydiving at Skydive Chicago. We were originally…read morescheduled to jump on October 5th, but weather grounded us until the 6th. The morning was bright and sunny. Our group of seven got geared up, and three of us jumped into a plane with our instructors, while the others waited for the next plane. My instructor's name was Adam, and he was scheduled to get married on the following Friday. So he said that jumping with me was the easiest thing he had to do all week! Adam made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I never felt any fear, even when I was sitting with my legs dangling out of the plane at 13,000 feet. Adam's instructions were clear and concise. I got to pull my own ripcord and steer the parachute for a bit before it was time to land. I want to thank Skydive Chicago (and especially Adam) for an incredible experience. I hope the wedding went well, and I wish Adam and his new wife many years of happiness. I'll skydive again, and I will head back to Skydive Chicago to do it!

I would imagine kids would especially love it, BUT something I didn't read about in any of the reviews is the CRAZY wait time. From the point that our car was "in line" we drove (very slowly, mind you) for over 90 minutes before getting to the ONE pay station... so two of the world's longest lines of cars are converging into one pay line. Still, it's inexpensive and there is even a radio channel you can turn to with Christmas music to really get you into the holiday spirit. So if you go, make sure you have PLENTY of time. And if you go with kids, good luck!!!
