I would imagine kids would especially love it, BUT something I didn't read about in any of the reviews is the CRAZY wait time. From the point that our car was "in line" we drove (very slowly, mind you) for over 90 minutes before getting to the ONE pay station... so two of the world's longest lines of cars are converging into one pay line. Still, it's inexpensive and there is even a radio channel you can turn to with Christmas music to really get you into the holiday spirit. So if you go, make sure you have PLENTY of time. Now, if you put me in a situation where I am watching a game in person, then we can talk. Which is what happened on this very night. My job was giving away free Peoria Chiefs baseball tickets. I snagged some for a friend but they ended up not being able to go. So, what was I going to do with 4 free tickets to a baseball game? Why not use them myself? It did take some convincing and bugging of my friends to get them to go as none of us are sports fans. We may not be in to sports but we are in to adventures. This was my first time at Dozer Park but I had been to this stadium once or twice as a kid to watch a baseball game. I remember sitting here for a baseball game in 5th grade, I think, while wearing black shorts in the summer sun. My legs did not appreciate that one bit. Luckily there was no repeat of that as the sun was setting as the game got started. Actually, now that I am looking at the Wikipedia page, this stadium was not the same one I visited as a kid. It appears this was a new one built around 2002 (I would've been in high school at this point). I'll leave this in as a small anecdote. The baseball game was baseball-y. But the stadium itself was actually really nice. Since it was built fairly recently, everything still had an updated and modern feeling to it. There were concession stands located throughout the area where you can purchase your overpriced pretzels and waters. The only real negative I have to say about Dozer Park is the parking situation. From what I could gather, you either take a chance of parking along the street or find a parking spot somewhere else and walk to the stadium. I believe there is a small parking lot nearby but do not quote me on that as I've only ever parked along the road when I've been here. (Only other time I was here was for beerfest, so I was more a passenger, but still took notice.) Honestly, the ticket prices are cheap enough that incorporating a baseball game or two during the summer is a good way to get out and enjoy life. Who knows, maybe you'll catch a ball, win a t-shirt from a t-shirt cannon or meet the mascot.

Thirsty Thursday drafts were $2, just mentioning this even though my husband and I don't drink. Just noting it since I seen other comments saying how expensive everything was. We had a completely different experience! Parking was free! Concession stands and bathrooms were so close to everything. Shopping was easy and fun too! I highly recommend this place!

It's good for that sort of thing because you can mingle but also go take a seat and enjoy the game if you like. I really enjoyed it here because it's a relaxing evening, seats are good, and there's a little hilly lawn that people can go sit in to the far left of the left field seats (usually kids). Prices aren't bad for concessions. You won't be seeing MLB-related teams here; the Corn Crib belongs to Heartland Community College and hosts collegiate summer teams. Parking was a bit chaotic --prepare for a long wait along Raab Rd. as you get into the lot. Somehow, once in and paying the $2, it was a quick zip to a spot. I wonder if they might find a way to streamline this in the future. Getting in and getting seated is a breeze. Stadium is new so everything is very nice. Prices are fair enough, staff mostly volunteers I believe, and a decent enough selection of food and drink for a ballpark. They may still be getting their stride, but it's a good facility, a great sport to have in town, and well worth several summer visits. My only word of caution is for anyone unfamiliar with the farm leagues --they seem to play at about half the pace of the majors. You may be in for a long night --if anything more bang for the buck (yawn) right?

Not only will they help you find exactly what you are looking for, but they will write up a plan of how to build the best show possible for the budget you have. We were specifically looking for the Excalibur Artillery along with an assortment of cakes and fountains for our show. The staff helped by pulling up videos of the various effects. I am especially happy I signed up for the loyalty program this year. It was quick and easy, only taking my phone number, and I received a free 200G cake and almost $50 in credit that I can spend on my next visit. Again, the staff was helpful in explaining how the program worked and how to best save me some money. We'll be back in to Jake's Fireworks before the 4th to stock back up!

Alcoholic beverages were available, but ID was required to obtain the wristband that was required to purchase alcohol AND they were not allowed in the main carnival area. The fire department brought out the heavy equipment and the SWAT team looked very intimidating. Oh, don't mess with the K-9 squad either. This is not a 6 Flags type place, Lines were extremely short, sometimes nonexistent and the ride operators were very gentle with the little ones, even willing to stop the ride if tears started to flow. We lucked out in that it was not 95 degrees with high humidity. A nice event to take the grandkids and do a little people watching.

Going to Modern Woodmen Park is a must for any baseball fan. It is one of the oldest parks in the nation. Many MLB stars got their careers started here in Davenport, Iowa. This family friendly stadium offers a wide variety of entertainment for the whole family. If the great game of baseball isn't for you, check out the different amusement rides. The Ferris wheel is huge and gives spectators a glimpse of the field and mighty Mississippi River. The concessions have many great foods and drinks to purchase at reasonable prices. You won't go broke here like at a MLB stadium. Where else can you watch a baseball game, see river boats cruise the river, and hear trains fly down the tracks? Modern Woodmen Stadium is the answer.

The reason 4/5 stars is lack of good concessions. A couple of places such as a Mexican grill weren't open. The line for this one grill was insanely long the whole night. The Whiteys ice-cream did not have malt cups, supposedly sold out the night before. Piss poor planning for a crowd. I settled for Cheesesteak nachos without onions and peppers in a helmet. Also shared a chip witch or chocolate chip cookie with ice-cream between it. The stadium was really iconic and cool. The Ferris wheel lit up at night.
